Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who currently stars as King Henry VIII in The Tudors, was arrested on Sunday for public drunkenness and breach of the peace at Dublin Airport. He displayed abusive behavior while waiting for a flight to London.
Last year, he criticized his hard-partying peers and said he avoids the scene to focus on acting:
“I would never drink again. It is hard to avoid. But listen, you do what you want to do. I don’t want to do that,” he said. “I want my career, and you can’t really do that and be successful on the screen.”
Benefit of the doubt: Maybe he’s a method actor?
