Remember when Prince wanted you to refer to him by some sort of weird squiggly symbol? (Of course you do, unless you’re 10. And if you’re 10, get out of here.) Well, not to say he’s a world-class control freak, but now he doesn’t want you drawing googly eyes on his picture or listening to his music where somebody might have a video camera.
The Artist Formerly Known As Whatever recently sent out copyright infringement notices to members of b3ta.com, a British site where people post celebrity Photoshop projects and other such silliness. They poked fun of the diminutive diva in response to his efforts to squash any use of his image or music online, including a 30-second YouTube video of a cute little baby dancing to “Let’s Go Crazy” in his parents’ kitchen. Prince didn’t like the b3ta blokes’ fair use of his image either, and made them take it all down.
So let’s get this straight … Prince gave away his last album for free in copies of a daily British newspaper, but now this hypocrite is slapping down nerds and housewives for daring to live in the same world as him. Is he trying to give the music industry one final collective heart attack?

It’s not his lawyers’ fault; this is what it sounds like when a megalomaniac Googles himself all day. What else is he going to do, ever write another song again that you’d actually want to listen to?
