How Not to Catch a Hypocrite

keith-olbermann-shhhh.jpgLeave it to ass-tard Keith Olbermann to find a hypocrite where there isn’t one.

RADAR Online reports that on Tuesday night’s Countdown …

… Keith Olbermann connected the dots between faux-populist wind-bag Lou Dobbs and illegal immigrants. The logic goes like this: When she’s not sucking Facebook, Dobbs’s daughter is into the elite sport of horse jumping, a pastime that’s propped up on the backs of undocumented workers, according to a book cited by Olbermann. Using the transitive property, that means Lou Dobbs is responsible for the employment of the illegal aliens he so passionately rails against nightly. Also according to this logic, Lou Dobbs employs Kevin Bacon.

Here’s some more Olbermann logic: If you eat lettuce, spinach, or avocados picked in California, or if you have ever sipped on a Napa Valley cabernet or merlot, you may no longer object to illegal immigration — since undocumented migrant workers do much of the heavy lifting out there. I wonder what Olbermann’s three most recent lunches consisted of …

You’re missing the point - Olbermann is pointing out the fact that all the people hopping on the anti illegal immigrant bandwagon are the ones who often benefit the most from these workers. Namely because these immigrants often do the jobs that are considered to be “beneath” the average american citizen. Kudos to Olberman for speaking out against the double standards so often touted by conservative windbags. If you don’t support illegal immigration, then don’t support the industries that employ them - restaurants, fruit and vegetable farmers, anything imported that has to be handled by dockworkers, air travel through airports that employ non-legal workers - the list is endless. You’ll find your choices as an american consumer become incredibly limited.

Wow, great logic Mona! I guess you’re that one viewer of Olberdouche’s show. Most of the workers who pick lettuce, avacados, etc. are NOT illegal aliens - So, there goes your argument.

If you want to come to America to work (because they don’t pay shit in Mexico), why not come here legally? That’s all the majority of America wants. If you don’t want to obey our country’s laws, then don’t bother coming here.

Again, the point is missed. The problem is not the workers coming here, but that they come here knowing they can get work. If people didn’t hire them, there wouldn’t be such a steady stream of undocumented workers coming into the country. And not once did I say that all the workers of farms, in kitchens, at airports, etc are illegal. But these are places that have been repeatedly busted for hiring undocumented workers. I’m saying that if you take issue with the situation, then put your money where your mouth is and don’t financially support the places that have been busted for hiring these people. But I guess it’s a lot easier to spout off than to actually have to expend the effort to live the message that you’ll so happily foist onto others.
And wow, your clever use of the word “douche” really made me rethink my opinion on Olbermann. I guess his eloquent use of speech and ability to seek out factual data, rather than spewing talking points over and over, are overrated. Thanks for enlightening me. Oh and by the way, “illegal alien” is as archaic and offensive as using “oriental” and “negro”.

Hmmm… By that logic, shoplifters should get a free pass. It’s not their fault — let’s blame Best Buy for not hiring enough security guards. And eBay, for not policing stolen-goods auctions well enough. And everyone who wins those eBay auctions.

And let’s not call them “shoplifters” or “thieves.” I think “currency-impaired shoppers” sounds much nicer.

    Whatever fills them with self-esteem . . .

I can buy my lettuce, coffee, avacados, from (local) farmers or markets, pay more if I have to. I could even grow them myself (except for coffee, which I drink once in a blue moon). Hell, I’d most likely not eat lettuce at all, untill the border is closed. No skin off my nose.

You’re welcome for the enlightenment. And thank you for enlightening me … from this day on, I will never use the term “illegal alien”, but rather “undocumented criminal”.

I love it! Great for Keith. Lou Dobbs is a bigot and a racist.
