Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton is just so gosh-darned excited about performing in front of people again on the Spice Girls’ comeback tour:
“I’m getting more confident singing live,” Bunton, 31, writes on the Spice Blog, “but during ‘Mama’ I got so carried away looking at the video playing behind us of all the mothers and babies that I forgot some of the lyrics!”
What’s she worried about? Can’t she just go “watermelon cantaloupe watermelon cantaloupe” over the backing track? After all, the Spice Girls admitted they didn’t sing live during their big comeback at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show:
“The girls were never asked to perform live as their performance was recorded for the TV show. But rest assured, the girls will be fully live for their opening tour date on December 2.”
I’m resting assured! They also say they’re not using any digital enhancement to de-suck-ify their never-impressive singing voices… Hey, wait a minute. I just looked at a calendar and it’s not 1996. Sorry, never mind.
