12 Days of Hypocrismas: Take That to the Banks

tyra.jpgFriday was the last day of shooting for The Tyra Banks Show, and the day when the show taped its annual holiday episode. Modeled after idol Oprah’s “Favorite Things” gift extravaganza, Tyra no doubt gave a lecture on the importance of giving before showering audience members with gifts: diamond jewelry, fur-lined boots, a video phone, and designer clothes.

But a production staffer spilled to Gawker that Tyra didn’t show the same generosity to her own employees — who got nothing. No cash bonus, no diamond anything, nothing, according to the snitch:

On any other talk show, holiday gifts are a tradition, from gift cards or iPods to trips, luggage, or envelopes full of cash. Jerry Springer is legendary for his generosity, and Tyra’s girl Oprah is also well-known for her largesse to staff, giving them vacations and paying off mortgages. But the Tyra staff got NOTHING.

That is harsh. Especially because last year, she made a big deal about helping those who deserve it most. And who deserves some kind of recognition more than the people who must deal with the devil to make her look good on camera?

Damn! She sounds like my mama…really nice to strangers and really b*tchy to people she actually knows (like her family).
