I swear I've seen this actress wearing fur at one time or another. Wouldn't be the first time some Hollywood starlet showed a level of hypocrisy that most of the world would find irritating.

Why is it that people who stand for nothing are always the first to criticize people who actively stand for something? I'm willing to bet that Hayden has taken more action for her beliefs than everybody in this forum, myself included. So she screwed up on the bag-- hopefully she will recognize her mistake and do better in the future. But if she makes another mistake, I'll rest easy knowing that several people in this forum will be there to point it out and bring her down to their level.

If it has a brain, it has intelligence, no matter of the size. Life is life, you did not ask to be alive, nor did an incest or cow but humans have the ability to respect and appreciate life with a gift of advanced intelligence and it is there to be used for good and not evil and yet this happens everyday through greed of murdering, for food and fun.

Slavery wouldn't be something. It would be someone. I don't think chickens and pigs would count as the latter.

And have you ever visited an actual animal farm? You know, strapped on some boots and breathed in the manure smell and all that? I can tell you from personal experience that there is actually such a thing as humane slaughter techniques.

Forget Googling "factory farm" -- how about visiting one before you form an opinion?

David,
So based on your opinion, if something is raised for that purpose, then it's OK? So slavery must have been appropriate because people raised them for that purpose.

Seriously, you have obviously done NO research on factory farming. That is the cruelest industry in existence. There is no humane slaughter technique. Plus, the conditions in which they live even prior to slaughter are horrendous. Do us all a favor and google the term factory farming.

I'm opposed to the slaughter of dolphins too, but at least they lived happy and free lives prior to their death and weren't consistently abused throughout their short lives like farm animals.

I know I'm being a total b*tch by saying this but everytime I see that image of her crying I giggle. Yeah, I know I'm going to hell...as long as there's Ben and Jerry's, I'm good.

And I didn't say only smart animals should be saved, but I think you know the difference between the slaughter of wild, intelligent animals and the use of leather. We do not farm dolphin; we do farm cows (which of course are certainly killed much more humanely). Thus it is much more responsible to use leather than to OK the slaughter of dolphin. The real issue is the method of cruel slaughter, not so much that people are choosing to eat dolphin.

Also, maybe you would create less confusion if you wrote more in your original article instead of re-posting two authors and adding a snarky comment at the end. Perhaps stating that she is ultimately being hypocritical because she is a vegan would have made sense.
