Jenny Craig Fires Kirstie Alley for Getting Fat Again

kristie_alley_fat.jpgThe National Enquirer is reporting that weight loss juggernaut Jenny Craig has fired actress Kirstie Alley as their spokeswoman because she hasn’t been able to keep thin.

At one point she claimed she lost 75 pounds on the diet plan, but recent photos indicate that she may have put much of that back on — making her, I don’t know, maybe not the best example of how well Jenny Craig works.

It’s also possible that the Fat Actress star was dropped because she has sort of credited Scientology’s detoxification plan to help her get slim.

But that would be surprising because it is totally bogus science and wouldn’t work unless you just wanted to lose weight in your liver.

They’ve replaced her with Queen Latifah, who, if you’ll recall, also shills for Pizza Hut.

UPDATE: Jenny Craig has confirmed that Kirstie Alley is out as the spokesmodel.

SHOUTOUT: Welcome newbies to Deceiver! Hope you stick around.

Why doesn’t Kirstie enlist the powers of Xenu or Hubbard, or whoever her crackpot religion prays to, to keep her thin? Did she eat them? She should watch it ‘cuz if her and her wacky friends ever get stranded somewhere, guess who gets eaten first? That’s right the fat one.

She got a serious problem with bulimic body thetans. She really needs to be audited.

Damn you Xemu! Where Tom Cruise when we need him?

    Same issue.

Kirstie stop worring about your weight, I was actualy disappointed when you lost weight because I thought FAT ACTRESS was one of the best and funiest shows on cable. Your a beautiful woman no matter what.

  6. 6 S. Roarty Feb 18th, 2008 at 2:19 pm

Forget Kirstie for a minute. The main thing this whole fiasco proves is that while being on Jenny Craig will get you to lose weight, it does NOTHING to help you keep it off. If it DID, there wouldnt BE a Jenny Craig….OR Nutra System OR (insert any other nationally advertised diet company here). These companies dont WANT you to keep the weight off….they want you to fail so you will come back again and spend MORE money. They dont succeed unless YOU dont.

Sorry world, but in the end, you have to eat REAL food and shop at the grocery store AND exercise regularly. It may not be as easy as having someone hand you your food and tell you when to eat it, but you will have a better chance of staying slim once you lose the weight. As a former Jenny Craig customer, I know what I am talking about…..been there.

Why doesn’t Kirstie get a Bodybugg device. I have lost 40 pounds and with the knowledge gained will be able to keep it off the rest of my life. I am not “on a diet” and will never be “on a diet” ever again. Calories in equals calories out when you see that graphed out for you with the Bodybugg web program you will never ever ever again ask or wonder how you gained that pound (or lost it) YOU WILL FINALLY KNOW!

Ahh we should all be so quick to judge! Shame on most of you…..

  15. 15 Amos South Feb 18th, 2008 at 4:00 pm

It doesn’t take a mental giant to realize thwt Jenny Craid, Weight Watchers. ete al are not in the weight loss business.. they’re in the FOOD SELLING business. If you don’t underand that, do a quidck audit ofd your checkbook and your scales logs. What will jump off the pages at you is that the effective loss is in the checkbook, NOT in the weight department. And always try to rembember when laying sod that the green side goes UP.

  16. 16 AngelMarie Feb 18th, 2008 at 4:08 pm

I think Jenny Craig is so wrong in the way they handled this matter. Many people struggle with their weight. It is a perfect example to show we are all human. To judge Kristie in such a way is excusable. Alot of diets do not work!!! When you reach a certain age, it is harder to maintain and get the weight off. Instead of Jenny Craig using celebrities; why don’t they have the average everyday American. That would be nice.

    So it’s noted :
Kristie is a beautiful woman she always has been and still is.

The moron and hatemonger who disrespects religion, any religion, including Scientology and uses Kirstie Alley, Jenny Craig or anything they can is P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C.

  18. 18 maria Feb 18th, 2008 at 4:30 pm

jenny craig sucks.. been there done that.. they will all gain it back.. trust me..

  19. 19 monica Feb 18th, 2008 at 5:03 pm

In this day and age if she really did gain back some weight Jenny Craig should have embraced her to show women that they are there to help. women do have this “if I don’t look like a victoria’s secret model then I am fat idea. I do it to and I am normal with some weight to loose and when I look in the mirror I am not happy with where I am. Jenny Craig is a scam. In order to loose weight you need to find a way of eating normal food (you buy at a graocery store) and you do need to exercise But food is the main thing, eat right. Kristi you are beautiful and if you really want to loose weight you find what is right for you. As for everyone going on about her being fat we all need to mind our own business even the stars are normal people who go through weight gain, divorce and other real life things and the media needs to leave them be unless they want to go on the record to tell their story of their crisis.

  20. 20 El8ted Feb 18th, 2008 at 5:12 pm

I don’t care what anyone says, NO ONE likes to be overweight. Sometimes it is a greater issue than your body losing pounds…. but then in the real world of ” we like to do personal assassinations on everyone”, I guess that doesn’t really matter. Lighten up for goodness sake, try to love someone for the person they are, not the package.

  21. 21 Kim Kujawa Feb 18th, 2008 at 5:16 pm

    Hi,
Just can’t do it for other people. Have to do it for yourself. If you are HEALTHY at a weight of 200 lbs…..then so be it. Be happy in your own skin, but be healthy. Not only for you, but for your family. I am going to be 50 in March and have ALWAYS struggled with my weight. Only 10 to 20 pounds here and there over what is considered normal for my height and frame. I decided about 4 years ago that I did not care what the “norm” was. I just wanted to be healthy and happy. Sooooooo, I just walk about 5 miles a day. Sometime I run…….I worked up to that one! Only about 1 to 2 miles and then walk (power walk) the rest. I live in Lemont, IL and find it challenging sometimes with weather. Especially this winter. I live in a suburb of Chicago…….WINDY COLD and BLUSTERY! However, I keep trying for ME, no one else. If I have a muffin for breakfast…..alright. I just make sure I walk or run that day for sure. I eat pretty much what I want in moderation and do my daily walk/run. You can adjust the workout for what is good for you, just move. You have people that care and that can help if you need it. Don’t give up or in to that “idealistic body” people have in their mind about women and especially celebrities. Just work on you and your happiness and your love of live. Eat healty, happy and live. Enjoy your family and move. That REALLY WORKS. Kim Kujawa

  22. 22 Cheri Feb 18th, 2008 at 5:33 pm

Jenny Craig is a business, and they must advertise their product to make a profit. If you are selling weight loss you don’t have someone unsuccessful pitch your product. That is their perrogative. I always enjoyed the fact that they didn’t use size 0 models to advertise their product, how real is that! As a society we are too obssessed with our weight and in reality the stupid camera adds about 40 pounds to you anyway. Kirstie Alley is a real honest person and I prefer her to all the phonies that Hollywood has tried to cram down our throats

  23. 23 Delores Feb 18th, 2008 at 5:37 pm

First off, beauty is not what you look like it is who you are. Kirstie is both physically and inwardly beautiful no matter what she is. The people who try to make outward beauty the most important aspect are indeed the ugliet humans I have ever encountered and I have been called “beautiful” (outwardly) by most all of my life just to set THE coming accusation straight from those who may feel need to try to drag my esteem down to their level.

Stop playing the “beauty” game. Be the kindest, most compassionate person you can be to truly be beautiful and tell the “others” to take a hike. It is time to switch back to real and not celluloid and plastics.

  24. 24 Anonymous Feb 18th, 2008 at 5:41 pm

What good is a weight lose program if they can’t support you when you fall off the wagon. Losing weight is hard.

  25. 25 Fran Feb 18th, 2008 at 5:44 pm

Seems to me that Jenny Craig is saying as long as you lose we are there for you and as soon as you have a setback instead of embracing you and encouraging you to get back on track they just kick you to the curb. But don’t worry, I’m sure that everyone gets the same heaveho treatment from them.

  26. 26 CCC Feb 18th, 2008 at 6:09 pm

Have You ever noticed all the weight loss commercials say in fine print at the bottom “Weight Loss not Typical or Average” My opinion is they fired Kristi because she is the typical average american. I agree with the one who said they should of embraced her and used that to show america how if you fall off the horse you should get back on. Tomorrow is a new day! Remember when you lay your head down at night. It is how far you’ve come not how far you have to go that counts

  27. 27 Marc Feb 18th, 2008 at 6:09 pm

    Kirstie,

Your talent, ingenuity, wit, charm, and courage continue to amaze me and will further your strength and integrity as you battle the effrontery of these former fatty gurus, who know nothing except fallacious rhetoric to enhance their so-called notoriety. I’ve been a fan of yours for the longest time; your talent as an actor far surpasses the superficial existence of the skinny wannabees. I admire you and always will.

  28. 28 teresa Feb 18th, 2008 at 6:18 pm

i have been my ideal weight almost my whole life. i am going to be 51. my parents were heavy junk food eaters. the whole thing is that you have to love yourself enough to take care of yourself. not for a husband or a job but your self. i am not genetically disposed to be thin but i care enough to make it a #1 priority. i take pride in my weight maintainance. if you just can’t do it then so be it

  29. 29 usedtobetubby Feb 18th, 2008 at 6:19 pm

I agree with S. Roarty. The only true way to lose weight and keep it off is to eat right and exercise regularly. I did Jenny Craig and alot of the others and did not find success until I went to the tried and true, diet and exercise.

  30. 30 Anonymous Feb 18th, 2008 at 6:23 pm

who cares if she is overweight!!

  31. 31 Leslie Feb 18th, 2008 at 6:44 pm

It’s alright Kristy. I know just how you feel. There’s more over weight people out there than there is thin. Thin is not really in anyone. It’s always fun when your dropping the weight but you soon get tied of rabbit food. We all do and that is why so many people gain back the weight. Your not along out there. Iv’e lost 125 pounds 3 times and soon put it back on.

  32. 32 Lil Feb 18th, 2008 at 6:56 pm

Dearest Kirsty: Keep on keeping on and don’t let those tabloid turkeys get you down. You are perfect to me and my heroine as I also am a happy big mama.

  33. 33 Phyllis Feb 18th, 2008 at 7:27 pm

I think it’s a darn shame that Kirstie didn’t get the proper counseling from Jennie Craig when she was falling off the wagon. It certainly doesn’t look good for JC. Basically, their program promotes portion control and a balance of all the food groups plus desserts in combination with a bona fide exercize regimen. I have been struggling with my own weight demons all my life. One time I was successful with a 74 pound loss with Weight Watchers myself. But I too gained the weight back and more because I wasn’t psychologically ready to be the new person in the smaller body. I will be 60 this year and have been diagnosed with diabetes. The could have been prevented if I had believed that I could keep the weight off that I lost. Somehow I think that Kirstie doesn’t believe that skinny woman inside exists. I believe that she is a beautiful and intelligent woman and deserves more from Jenny Craig than perhaps she has gotten. If her counselors were properly monitoring her progress or lack of it, she wouldn’t have turned to Scientology for a solution that didn’t work. Whatever her intentions were, Kirstie is a love. I think her firing as I said initially makes Jenny Craig look bad. I guess some challenges aren’t worth their time and I guess I won’t have time for their program!

  34. 34 NJS Feb 18th, 2008 at 7:43 pm

LEAVE HER ALONE…..is she the first person to yo-yo on a famous diet program. Gees….she is just a human being who has an addiction, which maybe she recognizes or maybe she doesn’t yet. She tried very hard on Jenny Craig to get her situation under control. (Maybe she has, and this website is all garbage)

Either way, it is her life. Stop picking on people just because they are famous AND human.

  36. 36 Evie Feb 18th, 2008 at 8:21 pm

Kirstie, this is how I lost unwanted weight 35 years ago: I served up dinner in the kitchen on plates; the regular amount for my husband, and half that amount for myself. At the dining table I ate only half of what I had on my plate, and threw the rest away, or fed it to the dog and cat. I also forced myself to walk each & every early morning (got to like it), planned my day while out there, came home and ate a hearty breakfast. Lunch was anything I wanted. A wonderful program for me!
I became what my age, height, and weight were statiscally normal. I am 78 now and still holding - I don’t walk as often, but my food intake remains the same.

  37. 37 momof3 Feb 18th, 2008 at 8:34 pm

Don’t put Weight Watchers in the same category as Jenny Craig. While in it to make money (that’s why they call it a business), WW teaches you to read labels and eat food from your grocery store-not charge you $80.00 a week for food that only feeds one person. I have a family of 5-I don’t have time to make two different dinners. I lost over 30 lbs with WW and have kept it off for a long time. Eating healthy and exercise are the only way to lose weight. WW gives you the tools and support to do that, JC doesn’t.

I am a former JC customer, and they do teach you how to keep the weight off. There is something called will power and if you don’t use it, of course you are going to put the weight back on. This person probably did what I did and ate everything in sight instead of sticking to what was being taught. I put on weight to, but I am taking responsibility for my own decisions rather than blaming it on NS, JC, and so many others out there.

  39. 39 Anne Feb 18th, 2008 at 9:49 pm

Jenny Craig, Nutri system take your pick. They make money b/c they know once you stop eating thier food you will gain the weight back. I’ve tried them all so I know what it’s like. The supermodel figure is not realistic. I read somewhere that the average size of women today is 12-14. Be happy for who God made you to be. If you don’t like your weight increase your exercise and eat healthier. That is what I am doing… finally, I’m almost 50 years old and it has taken me almost a lifetime to realize this! Kristie be happy, and stay healthy. Your fabulous, I’ve always admired you and your work. God bless.

  40. 40 Barb Feb 18th, 2008 at 10:20 pm

Kirstie: Been in the same boat as you. Lost 68 lbs with Jenny Craig & gained it all back plus. It does not teach you any thing. If you can afford to stay on it for life OK but that is unrealistic. They are too expensive for the average person I am struggling losing but I have lost 20lb slowly & working out. It is the best way to do it. Jenny Craig works while you are on it but doesnt work when you are off it. Kirstie be happy with your self

  41. 41 janey Feb 18th, 2008 at 10:22 pm

Kristie….You are a beautiful person inside and out. Do not let Jenny Craig or any other corporation tell you that you are not special because you gained the weught back,. I come from the other side of the arena, I am now fifty, but I was in a very sucessful job starting in my early twenties. Even though all the knowledge, love and help I had, I weighted 60 pounds when I was twenty nine. Spent years trying to understand why I was so in control but out of control, just to feel accepted and perfect. I know am retired because all the damage I did trying to be someone that I was not. I now weigh 115 pounds, but the damage to my body and my life has been
herendous. I learned one thing, do what you are happy with and people will still love and care. It is not about weight,it is what you hold in your heart that makes you beautiful, inside and out. Godspeed, Janey.

  42. 42 Mr.Fister Feb 18th, 2008 at 10:42 pm

What a train wreck. If she can’t deal with her weight and who she is there is no point in trying to change.

  43. 43 Diana Feb 18th, 2008 at 11:14 pm

    Kirstie,
I believe that whatever religion you believe in is your personnal preference…..as long as GOD is number ONE in your life. I also believe that UNLESS a person has been FAT and lost weight, that they have no ideal how difficult it is to loose the weight and keep it off! I think that thin or skinny people are so blessed and have no clue! I have been FAT and went on every kind of diet that’s out there! They all work as long as you follow the instructions for that paticular diet, but as soon as you start eating “THE OLD WAY” and not exercising, the weight will ALWAYS return! Each of us has a certain “Change of Eating Habits” that will work best for our body. I found that eating “FAT FREE” is what worked for me, along with walking 45 minutes each day. I lost 78 lbs in 9 months. The True KEYWORD in this message is “CHANGE OF EATING HABITS” also unless you make up your “MIND”,to change your way of eating and exercising you will NEVER accomplish this life long journey! I don’t think that people that make fun of Fat people have much of a brain…..I wish you Love,Health and Excellent & changed eating habits! MAY YOU GIVE YOUR LIFE TO GOD and MAY GOD BE WITH YOU ALWAYS!

  44. 44 linda Feb 18th, 2008 at 11:35 pm

until i give up my budweiser i will have a fat tummmmmmmmmy! it is how we chose to eat AND drink. nothing more, nothing less

  45. 45 WHO NEEDS JENNY? Feb 18th, 2008 at 11:40 pm

If it works for you…..to get you started…..great! Each of us can do it on our own,as long as we stick to the new way of eating, exercise and are self motivators or have the support we need! Some will need “Weight Watchers”, “South Beach”, “Fat Doctors” or whatever is out there to be the crutch they need…..whatever it takes……..stick with it ……you will reach your goal! If you slip don’t worry……just get back on your new life’s road A.S.A.P. GOOD LUCK & SHAME ON JENNY CRAIG! I hope everyone that is now going to Jenny Craig will leave there and anyone else thinking of going will change their mind! I WILL NEVER STEP A FOOT IN THEIR PLACE OF BUSINESS! IF You don’t do it their way you will get the BOOT! You Keep Your head up Kirstie ….call Weight Watchers” maybe they need a new spokeswoman!

Losing weight is easy; maintaining the weight loss is the hardest part.

  47. 47 bruce Feb 19th, 2008 at 12:23 am

I think that a person should be happy with what they are. I’m over weight myself and I think that these programs are just to make money and not for the person if they are for the over weight people they would have a program for people that is over weight that does not cost anything there is so many people out there that can not afford these programs and I think that every one is for the money in the high cost of diet food. My grandmother it is not what you eat it how much you eat and I believe that is true I have lost weight doing this and is still working on it

  48. 48 Vicky Feb 19th, 2008 at 2:18 am

Hey Kristie! You are a beautiful woman - no matter what! Your body is beautiful big or small. The only advice I can give you is you need to dump that crazy religion of yours. That will drive you crazy faster than anything!
You can tell JC where to stuff it (And I’m not talking about one of their cakes either!)
    Stay strong girl!

  49. 49 Sheila Feb 19th, 2008 at 5:09 am

I did Jenny Craig years ago and lost 30 pounds. I got so sick of eating their food after 3 months, that I could not bare the smell of the food cooking, let along put it in my mouth. The program was very expensive, and I swear the vitamins and/or food that they give you have something in it to speed up your metabolism. I too gained all of my weight back within a matter of months of going off the diet. When I asked my doctor what kind of diet he would suggest, he mentioned Weight Watchers.
I feel bad for Kirsty because the tabloids will badger her like they did before. Most of Hollywood is bulimic. Look what a strong woman Oprah is, yet her weight continues to yo-yo. I know that being overweight can lead to health problems, but some people are just born to be a certain body type.

  50. 50 Nancy Feb 19th, 2008 at 6:16 am

    Hi

Just a small word of advise. If you have not had you thyroid checked do that first before any weight loose program. If the thyroid is not functioning properly it is almost imposible to loose weight and keep it off.

    Nancy

I would find it shameful if Jenny Craig dropped Kirstie as their spokesperson because she couldn’t keep the weight off. However, if they dropped her because she’s crediting Scientology with her weight loss, then they’re right to do it (come on, they’re paying her to tout their business, not her religion). Either way, I don’t think I would ever try Jenny Craig or any of the other prepackaged plans. I learned from my grandparents (he lived to 89, she to 91) that the most important aspect of weight management is exercise. They ate a lot of fried foods, hot dogs, sodas, but weren’t obese because they lived on a farm that did not have all the modern conveniences and they got a workout daily by just living. All of our modern conveniences are helping to make us obese. I don’t want to go back to the stone age, but we must realize that if we can’t even get up off the couch to change the television channel, we’re lazy. My favorite is the 10 minute drive to the gym; try walking to that same gym and then walking back home. You’ll get just as good a workout and it’s free!

  53. 53 Lucy Feb 19th, 2008 at 9:01 am

Portion control Kirstie!!! Any weight loss company doesn’t want an over weight spokesperson. So I don’t feel sorry for her if they no longer require her services.

Maybe she can be the spokesperson for whatever she is eating too much of.

  54. 54 Évie Feb 19th, 2008 at 9:37 am

It occurs to me Jenny Craig missed a great public relations opportunity. By keeping Kirsti Alley in their employ and visible, they very directly admit that while weight loss is their bread and butter the continued effort to maintain a weight loss is a lifelong one. What company in their right mind would walk away from assured lifelong patronage. Didn’t Jared just celebrate a ten year or so anniversery with Subway? I’m sure he had his setbacks.

  55. 55 Tina Feb 19th, 2008 at 11:11 am

That is why it is all about PORTION CONTROL people. Try portionpal.com

The thing is that many people gain back some of the weight from Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers and whatever it is that’s out there taking people’s money! I know so many people that have been on these diets and sure they lost a good amount of weight, but once not attending the meetings and eating the designated foods made for the program they balloon right back to where they were and in fact look worse than they did. These programs endorse the right eating, but hellloooo? My friends that lost the weight never really worked out and sometimes when they said they lost 6 pounds that week or whatever it didn’t look like they lost anything. Yes, for some people they workout and they go on to keep the weight off, but for most…it is the bad habit of having things fed to you and not doing the work(exercise) behind it that’s the problem. When you get off Jenny Craig you don’t have those packaged dinners or meals that you buy from them anymore. From weight watchers, you don’t have someone on you every week weighing you and checking you and telling you what to do to lose more weight. It is a viscious cycle. I have been trying for about 6 months to lose weight and although I’ve only lost 22lbs which I would like to lose another 20, I am doing it on my own and people can tell the difference. It is about the inches my friend, not the pounds!!! I know a lot of ppl that are 30 pound lighter than me, but look fatter because I have less inches and more muscle. Don’t look at the scale. Look at how your body changes and you will see you are doing the right thing for your health. The scale sometimes lies because although you may be 140lbs that doesn’t mean you’re in better shape than someone who is 175lbs and looks the same as you just because you’re lighter. Just a thought!

Jenny Craig has a team of well qualified lawyers that very likely included a clause in Kirstie’s contract on her personal weight. It isn’t too difficult to read between the lines and figure out that she probably was fired based on failure to meet the terms of her contract. It’s always about the money - not the weight, or the diet, or the food or whatever. She signed the contract after her own lawyer(s) reviewed it - so… no mystery here. I agree with most everyone else who said that these types of diets don’t work unless you keep paying… again, it’s all about the money.

I think Kristie is the most talented woman. She is so funny. Her beauty is not judged by her weight. When I see Kristie, I don’t see her weight at all. Keep your chin up Kristie and know that you have alot of adoring fans. LIKE ME :o)

By the way, The guy ( NATE ) that did a makeover on your kitchen. You and him should be together. Couldn’t you just see the sparks between the two of you. I didn’t watch the show to see the makeover, I watched it to see you and nate :o) :o) Have you ever thought of inviting him to dinner? ……………………..Love ya Kristie……….

    Kirstie,
So what, it’s hard. I’ve lost 20 lbs in the last six months. Was 217. It wasn’t easy because I have a joint condition which hampers my physical excercise. So diet becacame the only solution which worked, except that I’ve seemed to reach a stopping place in my weight loss.I may be stuck where I am, so might you. I did love watching you and Vallarie loose weight, in fact saw her ex and son in concert last month.Loves to you and good luck, live long and be fair to your self.
    David

If you were happy with the way you looked, you would not have tried so hard to loose the weight. Unless Jenny was paying you so much money that you would have hade a sex change if asked. So either your a person who ( if the money is right) will do just about anythig, or you are feeling like a fat looser actress. Either way, I feel bad for you. But there are millions of people with the same problems and your situation is not special. Do us all a favor and stay indoors and away from the cameras.

  67. 67 Shy Feb 21st, 2008 at 8:00 am

We’re not all supposed to be so thin. I’ve obsessively dieted and worked out and was never happy. Everyone should just mind their own business and be as heavy or as thin as you want to be. Jenny Craig is a fad and they’re in it to make money. And I’m not sure how their food is, but I did try Nutrisystem and their food tastes terrible. I threw out have the meals.

Shes still a hottie at any weight and a good actress .People need to quit putting so much into the way people look ,No wonder why so many young people are so fukd up!!!!!!

98% of diets (or “lifestyle changes”) work for about two years. Check back about four years later, and the “success” rate is less than 1%.

People who don’t diet are healthier in all ways, regardless of their starting weight, than ANY dieter.

Dieting kills. Alley has contributed to an exploitation racket that fosters hatred and discrimination, and encourages people to ruin their health. Sorry, I know she’s more dumb than she is corrupt, but she should still be ashamed of herself for helping those bastards.

Google “health at every size,” visit the Junkfood Science blog at blogspot, and, if you have any self respect, NEVER DIET AGAIN.

And, for pete’s sake, people, the phrase is LOSE weight, not “loose.” You loosen ties, “hang loose,” or have “loose shoelaces.” Nobody, in the English language, ever “looses” weight.

  70. 70 The Oversneer Mar 6th, 2008 at 5:52 pm

Unless, of course, you throw the discus.

Seriously — that Junkfood Science blog lady is a little too OCD for me.

  71. 71 Adrienne Mar 14th, 2008 at 9:23 am

I think it is so nice that everyone is giving positive thoughts. This is the first blog I agree when you get older it is harder to loose weight. The media does’nt know whether she has a thyroid problem or hormonal problems if she is going through the change. The media a beast. She probably was stressed because she was under the media’s eye and contract to loose weight and keep it off

  72. 72 joe Mar 14th, 2008 at 2:11 pm

Her name is Kirstie. Not kristie but Kirstie. Knuckleheads.

I agree with Oldieslou. I have always thought Kirstie Alley was a beautiful woman big or small. She has a wonderful personality and that is what makes her a beautiful person. I say to hell with Jenny Craig.

  76. 76 karen Jun 21st, 2008 at 11:52 am

Kristi is no different then over million people who struggle with their weight she tried and that plan just did not work her maybe she will find something that will if she really wants it to I also
struggle with weight shes human just like the rest of us

  77. 77 Karen J. Fraleigh Jun 25th, 2008 at 10:37 am

wow! I’ve been there done that. Lost and put it back on. I’ve been on Jenny Craig and I was inspired by Kristy. I know it’s hard when you love to eat. Doesn’t matter if your thin or fat if your truly happy. I just hope Kristy is happy with herself. Good luck Kristy!

  78. 78 rldka Jun 26th, 2008 at 9:55 am

if i was not married Kristie would have to chase me off, because she looks so good at any size. i love that voice.

  79. 79 John Austin personal trainer Jul 17th, 2008 at 2:44 pm

Fired for being too fat, that sounds like grounds for a discrimination law suit.

  80. 80 Jen Jul 19th, 2008 at 3:01 pm

I don’t think she would have a discrimination lawsuit because…she WAS the spokesmodel for a weight loss program. She probably signed contracts that stated she HAD to stay thin in order to continue on being spokesmodel for Jenny Craig.
::shrug::: But then, I could be wrong. I have seen and heard of many strange lawsuits that I never thought would have made it before a judge. My personal fav is the lawsuit filed by some man against GOD. Yep—-he tried to sue GOD. lol idiot.

  81. 81 Lauren Jul 28th, 2008 at 3:07 pm

i think the only reason that jenny craig got rid of kristi alley was because she was afraid tat her business would be revealed as a scam. why else would she give up on someone? she should have helped her instead of turning her away. i personally don’t think she needed to lose the weight. I think she’s a beautiful person and people shouldn’t judge her because of what she does or doesn’t weigh.

  82. 82 jen Aug 6th, 2008 at 5:19 am

Listen…Kirstie ally was NOT FIRED. Her contract with Jenny Craig was up. They have a “weightloss” client, which right now is Queen Latifa, and they always have a “maintenance” client which is Valerie. While Valerie was a “weight loss” client, Kirstie was a “maintenance” client. I think it’s sad that people are so concerned with her weight. Maybe that’s why she is gaining weight back because look at how many of you have to blog about it. Shes probably an emotional eater and everytime she opens a mag someone is bashing her again. Maybe ALL of you should look at your own self in the mirror and stop judging everyone else. Maybe YOU should call Jenny but instead of doing something about your weight, you put others down for trying and make every excuse as to why nothing works for you. Jenny Craig works and so does everything else, but YOU have to make it work. You don’t just go to the consultations and BAM lose weight. So…have YOU called Jenny yet?

  83. 83 jen Aug 6th, 2008 at 5:23 am

Oh yeah, and another thing…Jenny Craig doesn’t even own Jenny Craig anymore. Nestle does. So everyone can stop putting blame on her, she’s an amazing woman who battled with her own weight. Nestle hired Kirstie NOT Jenny Craig and if you think its a scam, then don’t do it. It’s that easy, but millions of lives have been changed because of the Jenny Craig…but you do not have to take part in Jenny Craig. Go do nutrisystems and let me know how that works out for you! Talk about scams.
