Dina Lohan, mama to Lindsay, has hit back at criticism of her daughter’s latest photo shoot where she posed nude for photographer Bert Stern at New York Magazine. (The whole NSFW, er, spread can be seen here.)
“It was very tastefully done,” Dina tells People of the photos, a recreation of Marilyn Monroe’s legendary 1962 photo shoot shot by Bert Stern. “I respect the photographer as an artist, so I look at them artistically. For him to call Lindsay 46 years later and to say can you recreate these photos is an honor. I looked at it as art, and as Lindsay doing a character. So I don’t look at them like it’s Playboy; she was being a character. So if you look at it that way, you can look at it as a mother.”
Yes, it’s the height of taste for a young, reckless actress to imitate the patron saint of young, reckless actresses in a copy of that iconic last photo shoot before Monroe died of a drug overdose. Well played, Dina.

And Dina adds that had the photos been inappropriate, Lindsay’s sister Ali would not have visited the set. “Trust me,” Dina tells People, “I wouldn’t have sent my 14-year-old to the set [if the shoot was in bad taste]. And obviously Lindsay wouldn’t do anything with her sister there, that was risquĂ©.”
Newsflash to Dina: We definitely do not trust you! You’re a parent of a 21-year-old who has served time for drunk driving and possession, been in and out of rehab for a year, and is better known for her tabloid lifestyle than for her talent at this point. And yet you think you’re so fond of the parent/manager schtick that you want to star in a reality TV show where you turn young Ali Lohan and little brother Cody into celebrities?
Truthfully it seems Ali was brought to the photo shoot so she can see what will be expected of her about four years from now.
But why? Why her anyway? I don’t think her or Marilyn are all that attractive anyway, so whatever. And Marilyn Monroe is a laughably bad actress. Don’t believe me? I dare you to sit through River of No Return without laughing, so is that the connection?
I’m the idiot I guess. She’s the millionaire.
Artistically speaking, I think the photos are great. Dina, though, is still an idiot.
Absolutely love what you’re doing here! It is so nice to read and see the truth! Even most bloggers won’t go near Dina for fear of reprisal; yet, for what reprisal?
I’m not altogether certain if anyone but me knows exactly what Ms. Monroe really looked like. Hundreds of models, actresses, and celebrities have done a ‘Marilyn Thing’ at least once in their careers. Ironically most look far better than Norma Jean ever did.
So I think that’s about my take on the editorial. It sucked. I was amazed at how out-of-shape Lindsey is; moreover the tattoo’s…duh, one on each cheek, I guess they’re for viewing in case you’re bored or she’s got her head on the mirror or in Paris’ lap.
Lastly, Dina is dumber than dirt. She ought to be some kind of ‘Poster Mom’ for the insane or mentally handicapped. CHEERS!

So basically, Lindsay can’t do a nude shoot starring Lindsay, she has to do a nude shoot starring Lindsay as Marilyn? What happened to her celebrity cache?
I don’t know what people expect Dina to say about her daughter doing a nude shoot. Of course she’s going to be supportive. But I’m not going to lie, it’s nice to see what I guess just about everybody else in Hollywood has got a shot at nailing against a wall like you’re going to hang a picture on her ass.
Oh and Miss Freckles-All-Over needs to go back to her roots.
What I find wrong, the fact that Dina can defend & applaud her daughter taking nude photo’s, along with all her other self-destructing behavior. But When a father points out “the fact” that his daughter has DD’s and that they are impossible to hide, people riot in the street’s!
Tasteful or not, I fapped. As did millions of others, I’m sure.
Well, at least we see how Lindsay acquired her lack of morals, her social ills, her “problems”. I’m sure this whole deal equates to “having a cool HollyWoodie Mom”, which thankfully, for the vast majority of the US population, isn’t a personal problem.
I’ve also got to note that Dina has some kind of manlike essence issuing from her, as well as nearly non-existent ariola, and a hard-line facial structure. I tried not to gag, but the genetics were coming through.
i never liked marilyn. She’s probably the most overrated woman of all time. To start with, she was never a great beauty (dietrich, grace kelly or ava gardner, just to name a few, were far prettier than she ever was).Her style trademark was never hers: the concept of a peroxide blond girl with red lips was born years before with girls like Jean Harlow. And, the worse of it all, Marilyn was a trashy, lousy actress. I guess my feet are better actors than her. And her sense of morals was a bit too twisted for my taste: a woman who goes to bed with two brothers in a short period of time (Bob and John Kennedy) and sings “Happy Birthday” to the president of USA (a notoriously married man) in front of millions of people in the most whorish way possible is not worth of such praise.
