Mariah Carey Still Hits the High Notes (Emphasis on High)

mariah_carey.jpgMariah Carey is Allure magazine’s cover girl for April, and in the accompanying interview she reinforces her good-girl image:

“I’m Mary Poppins: I’m what the buttoned-up girls are supposed to be.”

Then is she implying that Mary Poppins was a total coke fiend? Sacrilege.

Members of her inner circle revealed recently that Mariah has a longtime cocaine habit. According to Hollywoodrag.com:

A very prominent lawyer in NYC, that shares residence with one of Mariah Carey’s producers, claims MC does a bit of cocaine.

The lawyer said one night Mariah was upstairs, and in front of her was “a bowl of coke.” He continued by stating, “she uses it on the regular.”

I was shocked to find out from several of those who have at one point been in Mariah’s circle, that she indeed has used cocaine at different points in her career.

In related news, the Banks family is shocked and saddened by this turn of events and blames her relationship with that sketchy chimneysweep gang.

This really explains her erratic behavior over the past few years and the fact that she really can’t sing anymore. I really don’t understand why these incredibly talented people end up self destructing.

Wow I thought it was just me that noticed that she doesn’t sing anymore.

She doesn’t do coke! It screws up her voice - she wouldn’t dare!! Anyway so what if she did, everyone would enjoy a bowl of coke now and then if they could afford it. hehe

Peter v I think you’re missing the point - she doesn’t actually sing anymore possibly because she can’t. She just meanders through tunes breathily talk-singing as though she is lost, with a quick loud burst for the end part. Have you heard the latest tune/meander ‘Migrate’? Constipate more like it! Although I don’t hate it venomously - it’s just a lazy rehashed unoriginal effort. Meh.

Well if she is a coke fiend, why still so “curvy”? Just asking.

    ^ Implants, my dear.

Anyways, I was a fan of Mariah’s as a little girl and left her music behind after Butterfly because to me that’s when she started going down hill in my opinion. Her voice was getting progressively worse. I come back to see that it is a million times worse then before. It pains me to listen to her version of Against All Odds because there’s no passion in it. Not like there was in songs such as I Don’t Wanna Cry and even in Music Box. And don’t get me started on her recent work. She used to have her own thing going for her now it seems like she’s just fell into a pop diva clique. I won’t rag on her look but it’s just not the Mariah I fell in love with. I just wish she would enjoy making music again because I used to enjoy listening to her and I see I’m not the only disappointed fan. You other fans can defend her til you’re blue in the face but the truth is Mariah isn’t being herself. Dressing provocative, good makeup and highlighting your hair doesn’t make you a good artist, your talent does and if she let’s that slip away she’s left with her looks that will eventually fade too, then she’s left with nothing.

^^ HERE HERE CHRISTINA!!! I mean, just look at her original music video for Vision of Love. You can HEAR the passion and inspiration behind the song and the lyrics she sings. Now compare to Touch My Body. … where did the..the..music go? She fell into the pop diva foundation, and I don’t think she’s coming back out… It’s a shame; she had such talent, such potential, and for a time she was really really really really amazing. *sigh* I’m just going to stick to her old music.
