Katherine Heigl: People for the Excellent Tailoring of Animals

katherine_heigl_peta.jpgKatherine Heigl has been running around Hollywood in a snug PETA tee lately, delighting the animal-rights fringe and fans of tight clothing everywhere.

But hold that thought.

Last month she made an appearance at the third annual Pedigree Adoption Drive in New York’s Times Square while wearing a fur-lined coat.

And even if it’s faux fur, as previously reported faux is often anything but.

That’s a brilliant move, wearing a coat that may very well be made from dog fur to a puppy adoption day. Well played!

I don’t think it was dog fur, but I also doubt it was “faux”

C’mon she’s got the PETA shirt on underneath that coat. You know. Cuz she’s dumb.

(I wish I knew who she was.)

It doesn’t look like real fur. If you’re interested in animal rights, any support should be warmly welcomed. It shouldn’t be about silly drama, and it’s not a contest. Everyone has to start somewhere. Personally, I think the idea behind PETA is nice, but the way they focus their resources sometimes borders on petty drama and retardation… This is maybe part of the reason that this website is focusing on who’s a hypocrite in the world of PETA advertising instead of pointing out that animal welfare awareness and support is growing.

Actually, I’m pretty confident that it is real fur. I saw a snap of her last week visiting a Diane von Furstenberg boutique wearing a calfskin jacket too.

Personally, I think that the rules are different for celebrities. If some Joe Schmoe in my neighborhood wants to dabble in vegetarianism while wearing leather chaps and mink undies, that’s cool. But for famous people, that spotlight they love so much exposes their inconsistencies. That’s the price you pay for fame.

PETA blows. Sorry I couldn’t think of anything more clever. Again.
