Saudi King Is A Royal Hypocrite (Here Comes the Fatwa…)

saudi_king.jpg

If Deceiver.com goes dark at any time in the next 24 hours, I think we can assume some Al Qaeda cell decided to go all Salman Rushdie on me. I’ll trust Simon and Holly to carry on. Fair warning.

Yesterday, Saudi Arabia’s King Adbullah issued an unprecedented call for a sincere “interfaith dialogue” in the Middle East. Here’s how the Associated Press put it, and I think these few paragraphs say it all:

The Saudi king has made an impassioned plea for dialogue among Muslims, Christians and Jews — the first such proposal from a nation with no diplomatic ties to Israel and a ban on non-Muslim religious services and symbols …

“The idea is to ask representatives of all monotheistic religions to sit together with their brothers in faith and sincerity to all religions as we all believe in the same God,” the king said Monday night in Riyadh at a seminar on “Culture and the Respect of Religions” …

Abdullah said he planned to hold conferences to get the opinion of Muslims from other parts of the world, and then meetings with “our brothers” in Christianity and Judaism “so we can agree on something that guarantees the preservation of humanity against those who tamper with ethics, family systems and honesty” …

Religious practice is so restricted in Saudi Arabia that even certain Muslim sects, such as Sufis and Shiites, face discrimination, while conversion by a Muslim to another religion is punishable by death.

The Saudi kingdom’s religious intolerance is well documented. Here are a few reminders of that nation’s version of “ethics, family systems, and honesty”:

Let the stonings begin. I can take it.

I am so glad I’m leaving the country tomorrow.

I think the plan is to get all of those other religions in one room so the Muslims can go 5th century on ‘em all at once. You know because Islam is so tolerant. I’d say turn the whole Mid-East into a self lighting, glass paved parking lot, but it would ruin the oil. Thats right. Blood for oil.

Islamic Rage Boy is my leader now. Come get me rag heads.

I thought dhimmis traditionally had at least some religious freedom. Not any more …

This is what America would look like if the religious right had their way.

Muslims love playing everyone else for suckers at these bogus “dialogues.” Have they ever given an inch on anything?

Can we really expect any better from that part of the world?

I admit Saudi is a little backwards in certain aspects but I’m not very happy with the media stereotype of Islam=barbaric terrorist brutes thanks to few nasty and unfortunately influential hypocrites who call themselves Muslims. And of course, the western media wouldn’t want to clear that up because they’d have no reason to invade said countries.
*sigh* I wish people would go and read more on other religions (including Islam) before making stereotypes of people. Besides, I noticed a very orthodox Jew acts very similar to a practicing Muslim but no-one stops him.
    PS: I’m not Saudi.

Leave it to Mars to be the one dupe who has fallen for the “religion of peace” crap. It’s people like you who keep diapering and bottle feeding Muslims so they never evolve. They’re not exactly chained to their homicide belts and kassam rockets. And if there is such a resounding majority of peaceful Muslims, as you say Mars, where the hell are they? Currently there are 30 conflicts around the world and 25 of them involve Islam. Muslims are slaughtering innocents in Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Cyprus, East Timor, India, Indonesia (2 provinces), Kashmir, Kazakastan, Kosovo, Kurdistan, Macedonia, the Middle East, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Sudan, Russia-Chechnya, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uganda and Uzbekistan. Get your head out of the sand, Mars, and smell the hashish. Unless you’re *sigh* one of them in disguise, because only a muzbot would compare an Orthodox Jew to a Muslim barbarian as if there were some moral relativism.

Why is everybody hating against Muslims? You know, this is the reason why America has completely lost it! I’m so glad that I live in England and not freaky America, and why do you think there are so many conflicts in Muslim countries? Oh yeahh because America started half of them! Sticking their noses in everyone’s business, wanting to be in the know all the time and all for oil, so they can live their lavish lifestyles. America steal from the poor and give to the rich…

first off-i’m a muslim and i wouldnt recommend looking to saudi arabia as a representative of islam. alot of the regulations they have-especially to do with women-conflict with the womens rights outlined in islam. as for the whole peaceful muslims issue-there are many of us who do take part in rallies and talk with other faith groups. unfortunatly were just not newsworthy. and i agree with you mars and anon. I can assure the rest of you posters-who apparently believe that every muslim must hate everyone else-i’m certainly not one of them-considering i love the jewish side of my family as much as the muslim side :D

Islam comes as a continuity of the previous religions. Islam is no more than the God commands to be followed by the humans. As a Muslim, I believe that Islam is the most comprehensive religion. Islam appears for humanity and Humanity is part of Islam… my message is: there is no religion that ignored the humans’ rights… Humans always kill their selves, made the Cruel and then they complain of what they did… All humans regardless to their religions, races, and colors should be one hand together for humanity…

Mars and Anon. They have all the answers. How about you go over there and figure it out? Bring Jimmy Carter too, it should be a fun and sucessful trip. Good Luck, and don’t lose your head! (literally)
