Everybody knows Courtney Love has no shame, but what we didn’t know is that she also has no soul.
The widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain has inked a deal with Converse to make a line of the canvas sneakers emblazoned with his song lyrics and signature.
No word yet on when the footwear company will release a version of the kicks with his suicide note printed on the side.
Of course, rock historians will remember when Love sued the other members of Nirvana for trying to release a boxed set of the band’s greatest hits, claiming they were just after some fast cash:
Courtney Love, herself a musician and actor, is locked in an increasingly bitter struggle with Nirvana’s bassist, Krist Novoselic, and the drummer, Dave Grohl, for control of the band’s legacy.
The two men, who previously remained silent, have launched a vitriolic attack on Love, calling her an “irrational, self-centered and unpredictable” prima donna who is “appropriating” Cobain’s work to further her own career.
Love dismisses them as “sidemen” who contributed little to Nirvana’s success, and her lawyer claims they are looking for “quick bucks.”
When Cobain killed himself because, as he said, “I don’t have the passion anymore,” this is definitely where he saw himself in 14 years.
