Everybody knows Courtney Love has no shame, but what we didn’t know is that she also has no soul.
The widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain has inked a deal with Converse to make a line of the canvas sneakers emblazoned with his song lyrics and signature.
No word yet on when the footwear company will release a version of the kicks with his suicide note printed on the side.
Of course, rock historians will remember when Love sued the other members of Nirvana for trying to release a boxed set of the band’s greatest hits, claiming they were just after some fast cash:
Courtney Love, herself a musician and actor, is locked in an increasingly bitter struggle with Nirvana’s bassist, Krist Novoselic, and the drummer, Dave Grohl, for control of the band’s legacy.
The two men, who previously remained silent, have launched a vitriolic attack on Love, calling her an “irrational, self-centered and unpredictable” prima donna who is “appropriating” Cobain’s work to further her own career.
Love dismisses them as “sidemen” who contributed little to Nirvana’s success, and her lawyer claims they are looking for “quick bucks.”
When Cobain killed himself because, as he said, “I don’t have the passion anymore,” this is definitely where he saw himself in 14 years.

Will they be doused in mud, soaked in bleach, as I want them to be?
Love sucks, Nirvana sucks.. can’t they just go away? Their totally harshing what is left of my “lol, Kurt Cobain offed himslef” buzz.
I see the hypocrisy you’re pointing out. I don’t think much of Courtney Love. I didn’t think much of Nirvana either. I don’t think of them at all in fact. The day Kurt Cobain blew his brains out was just another day I had to go to work. But if there are “Gen Xers” that are now approaching middle age like me, that feel the need to by these stupid shoes just because it has the name of a headless mope on them, they should be separated from their money immediately.
There’s a sucker born every minute. And a lot of them bought Nirvana albums. Now they can have the shoes too. Do they come with gray, and red smears on them?
P.S. I love the way they call her a “musician, and actor”.
Nirvana was one of, if not the, most influential bands of the 90’s. Whether you liked them or not you can’t really argue against that. The world would have been sooo much better off if it had been Courtney instead of Kurt that went byebye. Arrgh, why do the annoying talentless wives like Yoko and Courtney always have to survive their brilliant husbands?
Awwwww, Courtney is Kurt’s Yoko…
“Sidemen?”
Foo. F-cking. Fighters, you whore.
Meanwhile, Courtney hasn’t written a track since she stopped f-cking Billy Corgan. Isn’t it interesting how she only produces music when she’s sleeping with another songwriter?
This is just another one of Courtney Love’s desperate attempts to remain relevant. She might as well say, “Hey guys, remember me? I f-cked Kurt Cobain… you guys still like him! He’s important. Well… here’s some more of his stuff that you can buy that ONLY I can give you! Yay I’m important again.”
Courtney will never matter. Her music did nothing for anyone. Was that even music? Btw - GREAT point Dickie Hateface!!! Courtney only produces music (which probably means steal from other ppl’s ideas) when she’s f-cking someone in a more important band.
NOt that I give two sh*ts for either Cobain or Love, I think its a little harsh to be talking about Cobains death as if it was nothing. And to wish that it was Love who killed herself instead? Wow- who is it that really has no soul? I mean for gods sake people Cobain and Love do have a daughter- who just might read this. My real point- here we are still talking about Cobain and Love- if any of you were killed, years later would people like you and me still be writing about it? Doubtful.
Why would Cobain’s death be anything more than nothing to me? He was a guy I didn’t know, in a band that I thought wasn’t good, and part of a “movement”, grunge, that I thought was stupid.I don’t feel bad every time someone I don’t know dies. And you’re right no one will write about me after I’m gone. But I kinda like it that way.
I’m not saying that you should care about Cobains death personally. I just think all life is valuable and should be treated so. I just feel death is a sensitive issue and shouldn’t be taken so lightly. And I hope no one writes about me years after my death either. Grunge was a ridiculous movement but to deny its relevance is just plain ignornant.
I don’t remember saying it wasn’t relevant. But then disco was relevant at one time too. It just used less flannel that’s all.
What’s blue and sits in the corner?
christ (most of you) are so blind- ‘Chad’ was right- whether you liked nirvana or not they were THE MOST influential band of the 90’s. Kurt did not start the “grunge” movement, Kurt carried on the “punk” movement. Nirvana is one of the best and most important bands of all time, and the fact that Courtney would capitalize on something so petty as converse shoes, and market them with her late husband’s lyrics is something expected, it is just sad.
I love Kurt Cobain and Nirvana they changed my life so much! Courtney Love is a disgrace-i can’t believe an enigma such as Kurt Cobain actually associated himself with her!!
Nirvana was the single greatest rock and roll band in the history of the known universe. Their influence could never be measured on any conceivable human scale. Music today would not exist where it not for a rag-tag bunch of flannel and Doc Marten wearing teenage geniuses. With album sales in the 10s of billions of copies it’s a wonder that any other band gets any airplay at all.
4500 years from now, future generations will gaze upon monuments rended from solid granite, the likeness of His Holy Master Kurt. The Great One. The Almighty King of the Conifers of the Northwest. They will kneel before His mighty Visage. One with a head. One without. It’ll depend on the season.
The answer to Simon’s question is….
A 12 gauge.
Nirvana, depending on which version you liked (Sub Pop or Corporate), touched a nerve because they helped usher in a new sound that the bozo AR people in corporate music kept underground for so long. I’d argue that the Replacements were the ones that set the tone but the point really is that Courtney is a money grubbing c*nt and used Kurt (who was against everything that Courtney is now doing to sully his and his band’s name) as a vehicle to obtain the rich lifestyle she always dreamed about. The greatest thing that could happen to her is that she either blows her own head off with a shotgun or that she just gets so high that she walks into a bus that happens to have the Nirvana/Cobain/Converse ad on it. That would be sweet justice.
