George Clooney Gets Touchy When You Point Out He Shills Overseas

george_clooney_omega_watch.jpgGeorge Clooney gets all huffy when you mention that he makes extra bank shilling for companies in foreign countries. Stars do it all the time (remember Lost in Translation?) because the Japanese and Europeans will pay them tons to sell out and it doesn’t damage their credibility with their American fanbase.

So lately he’s been complaining about a pair of Italian designers who fraudulently used his name and likeness to promote their fashion line:

“If someone tries to sell you clothes or watches that are based on me, don’t buy them,” Clooney, 46, told reporters Wednesday in Rome, where he was promoting his new film, “Leatherheads.”

I’ll bet that Omega, the Swiss watch company, is thrilled about his statement. He’s been shilling for them for the past year, even being named Omega Ambassador and getting richly compensated in return. I mean, he’ll sell clothes and watches, just be prepared to pay him for the honor. But shhh, don’t remind him about that, he doesn’t like it when you expose that kind of stuff.

Check your facts before stating things. The reality is totally different than what you wrote.
Two Italians used George Clooney’s name in order to create some clothes. They even faked his signature and pretended to be him when they have ZERO link with him. That’s totally illegal and they are currently investigated. That’s the fact. I’m glad to know that you defend some counterfeiters in order to make fun of a star.

That settles it. Production of my Lindsay Lohan signature flask series & Amy Winehouse autographed syringes will definitely have to be on hold until further notice.

I love George Clooney, and this story is in no way accurate. It’s been proven that this was a hoax and a scam and these people tried to hustle their products with Clooneys name. He has always be a classy guy and I’ve got tons of respect for what he doing to bring attention to the Sudan.

The story is accurate. They do state that his name and likeness were used “fraudulently” in this particular case. It is also true that every time an interviewer mentions the shilling he does outside of the USA cLooney carries on like a virgin at the orgy. A flaming hypocrite if there every was one.
