Gerard Butler Compares Cameron Diaz to a Dog

gerard_butler.jpgScottish actor Gerard Butler, who starred in 300 and now Nim’s Island, is all peeved that people think he’s dating Cameron Diaz after getting cozy with her in Santa Monica and Hollywood this week.

“If I take a dog for a walk, apparently I’m f-cking my dog!” Butler told photographers Thursday in L.A. after a morning run.

Wow, Gerard, I don’t know how they do it in Scotland but around here that’s class. Yet not that surprising coming from a guy who thinks he’s the hottest shiz in the pond (mixed metaphor intentional):

The Phantom of the Opera heart-throb is turned off by the superficiality which he believes is rife amongst Californian women, and their obsession for the perfect appearance without any thought for depth of character.

He says, “I don’t get around much because I don’t like this attitude that many women put on here in LA.

“I like natural, nice girls with personality. I’d say I’m single at the moment.”

He’s not superficial, he just wants women to be naturally beautiful and nicer to him than he deserves. I hope he doesn’t get too near Lindsay Lohan, he sounds like just the kind of ass she’d go for.

I don’t think he was saying “Cameron Diaz is a dog” I think he was saying “If I were to take my golden retreiver for a walk, people would think I was dating and subsequently fucking it”

Gerry is right about one thing. Cameron is a dog. The fact he is hanging with that pot head skank and bonking her makes me have ZERO respect for him. The guy obviously can do better. My only take on it is that he knows she’s a skank and will suck Scottish schlong till Sunday. So he’ll use and abuse her and dump her once he gets sick of seeing her acne scars on her face.

Never heard of him. He doesn’t look that good, from that picture posted.

I’m with Kat – never heard of him but I have heard of Cameron Diaz. He knows he needs the publicity

Believe me, this publicity is going to help Pug Face Cam more than him even though he’s not worth all the crap in Scotland for porking a pug.

You have to admit he’s prettier than Cameron Diaz.

Oh God, again with the “California girls are so superficial.” Newsflash, jerk; there are hundreds of thousands of California girls you have never met and never will because you choose to travel in certain social circles where EVERYONE IS AN *SSHOLE. You want to meet girls who still look good but have some substance? Go to a coffee shop in Silverlake. Go to the artwalk in downtown LA. Go to dinner in Koreatown. All these areas are flooded with pretty girls with something on their minds besides their next elective surgery.

By all accounts, he’s a very nice, down to earth kind of guy and his comment about California women is obviously aimed at the bimbos that are affiliated with the movie industry since he probably doesn’t travel the length and breadth of the state trying to meet women… you know, since he’s probably fairly busy? And if you think he’s unattractive, I strongly suggest googling his image.

He’s a jerk because he prefers a woman more concerned with character than her appearance? How horrible of him. It may be rude to single out LA women as exclusively shallow when frankly women can be shallow the world over. As for the dog comment, why are so many people taking that so literally when it sounds more like he’s just making a point about gossip hounds? This is the kind of snarky post I’d expect from Perez Hilton’s site, not yours. No offense, I enjoy reading your site. I just don’t get it when some celebrities express honest opinions that really are far more digestible and down to earth than some of the ego afflicted train wrecks out there and they still get their s*** jumped.

That man can do no wrong.

I’m not a fan of his, but I think these quotes are twisted out of all proportion. Seriously? The dog comment: He was making an analogy to explain the way Hollywood behaves when a male and female celebrity are photographed together. The natural comment: I’m pretty sure he meant girls he behave naturally, not are naturally beautiful.

Wow you are changing from finding factual discrepancies and hypocrisy, to ranting like perez. I came to you for objective full reporting where we can draw our own opinions, but this is just inflammatory … I don’t know, like you want to make sure we hate whoever you hate, regardless of whether there’s a reason or not. I’m going to skim a little further, but I’m disappointed in the change in the tone of this blog from a few months ago, and will probably not return. What a shame. I used to really enjoy the research and the incisive comments.
