See, the sarcasm in the 2nd paragraph is undercut a bit by the straight-up accusation in the 1st. Next time save the righteous indignation for your closer, that might work better.

Wow! Way to completely mis-represent the point Downey was making in that interview! Well done!

When I read the article I thought to myself, my, there's a guy who has been to self created hell and back and who is now trying hard to maintain an even keel in the most shallow industry in the world, but after reading your hackneyed sound bite sans context, I see now what a fool I was.

Uh, the "low-budget indie" was a joke.
Plus, I'm Robert Downey Jr. is a damn good actor. I thought he did a nice job in The Zodiac. Great performances from all the actors, too bad it unravelled at the end. I understand the killer was never found, but consider the great ending in No Country for old Men. It still had a solid ending.

In all fairness, I too think that he's a talented actor. But he really should be carefull when throwing the stones, since he just recently moved out of his own glass house. Sure he's correct in his assessment of those void-oid celebs, but his choice was merely the opposite end of the continuum and not any purer. To put himself above it all he should refrain from pointing fingers, at least until he gets further from his own personal car wreck. He's still on cosmic probabtion in my view.

Ironman looks like it could be good, and I hope that he does it well, and continues on the right track with his life.

Ha! It isn't. I believe the budget is approaching $200 million.

The funny thing is that Robert has always been a pretty darn good actor. And from the looks of it, he seems to pull of doing Tony Stark/Iron Man convincingly. And heck, if they get this Superhero movie right, then I'm all for it cuz they tend to mess them up. It's just too bad Iron Man doesn't really exist so he could blast Paris Hilton and all the other skank herpe whores celebutards into smithereens.
