I know...Pam's not perfect. In fact, she's obviously not the brightest bulb on the tree, but she is passionate about animal rights. What are you passionate about? Busting hypocracy? There are many higher purposes for hypocracy busters. Try Bush, Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, Rice...etc! RIFE with hypocracy!

The drugs you referred to are testable on HUMANS! There are plenty of people willing to be guinea pigs, for pay of course. The point being: Humans have a choice, chimps don't! Some people with hep c will volunteer to take part in trials in hopes of curing their incurable disease. Chimp's don't volunteer for anything.

What are YOU doing for animal rights? Anything? Do you eat hot dogs? Do you wear leather?
Do you care?!?

I personally wouldn't test anything on a human baby. That's what lab animals are for.

And if you really believe only "occasional" breakthroughs have come from research with animals, ... wow ... I really don't know what to do with you.

I would imagine it's incredibly expensive and cumbersome (regulation-wise) to keep and use animals in a lab. Just think how many extra hurdles your buddies at PETA have put up over the years to make it more costly. So if there were non-animal tests that could replace all of it, how quickly do you think companies would switch?

Yeah...

Enjoy the tofu. It was tested on a bunny.

I've never been a fan of Pam either, but I am a Peta supporter. There are thousands of useless, wasteful, and cruel experiments done on animals every year in the name of 'research'. While some animal experimentation may have resulted in an occasional medial 'breakthrough', more often it's results are inconclusive and/or harmful. (Vioxx, anyone?) Results obtained with animals do not necessarily translate to humans. Would you test on a human baby to find a cure for feline leukemia? Much animal experimentation could be replaced today by scientific tests that do NOT involve animals. Yet the medical establishment is afraid of rocking the boat and jeopardizing their paychecks, so the old ways continue.

Well animal testing would be unnecessary since Chuck Norris's tears cure cancer. Too bad he doesn't cry.

In responce to the most previous post. The way most fur is obtained is a bit worse than how most leather is obtained. Much of the time fur is obtained from trappers who use steel jawed traps, and an animal can be caught in the traps for days before they die.

I am not against using animals products completly, but most of the factory farming of animals is completely unsustainable in the long run, uses far too many resources, chemicals, energy, water, antibiotics, etc. If more and more people would use less animal products the world would be a better place.

Animal testing is unnecessary and has not cured much of anything. 99% of the testing business is just that, a sham designed to suck billions of dollars of our taxes, and make profits for a few. There are a few exceptions, but most test can be done in vitro, or done on willing humans. Most diseases they already know the cause and cure especially cancer, heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, etc. It is caused by pollutants in the enviroment, and our food, and the eating of meat.

My question to the PETA people is:

You've got the courage to attack women wearing furs, how come you don't attack bikers for the leather they wear? Because you yourself may be an animal? A little sheepish? Chicken? They are all hypocrites and cowards.

Sweet little post. It’s always pleasant to see paragons of opinion making fools of themselves.

Jim Aaron,

I normally stay out of these kinds of arguments / discussions / debates, but I gotta say, you intrigue me. You want us to understand "why we should all strive to limit the suffering of others to the best of our ability" while stating that anyone that believes this piece on Anderson should be "ass raped by a bunch of HIV/Hep C prison inmates. After they finished up and you stopped loving having you O-ring pounded, you could then die a slow painful death."

You're a lunatic who resents anyone that doesn't agree with them. You're a single button away from blowing up an abortion center.

So what if this article lambasts Anderson. So what if questions how true she is to her cause.

Anyone who agrees with it should be punished?

That you and I are share the same planet distresses me... I hope to God none of my children ever end up sitting across a room from you. I'd hate to think they even passed you on a city street.
