Marie Osmond Gives Billy Ray Cyrus Parenting Advice

marie_osmond.jpgIt’s almost Mother’s Day, so Marie Osmond has some choice words for Billy Ray Cyrus about the way he’s raised Miley:

I can only speak for myself, but, for example, the Miley thing — her dad stepped out [of the photo shoot]. My parents never, never left us alone. How do you say no to somebody like Annie [Leibovitz] when you’re a little girl? If your kids are going to be in that kind of business, then you need to make it your business to be there for them.

Deceiver readers might be interested to know that Osmond’s own 16-year-old son Michael checked into rehab in November to receive treatment for undisclosed issues.

Oh, and that was while she was still taping Dancing With the Stars. And she evidently didn’t take time off to tend to her family crisis.

Although with a mother like her, I can’t say I wouldn’t have had a serious drinking problem before I could vote either.

    This isn’t hypocrisy.

“If your kids are going to be in show business…”

Her son is not in show business.

Not splitting hairs, just logically it doesn’t work.

    Hypercrite, Can you say Hypercrite?
Marie, Your parents didnt leave you alone, how did you get sexually abused as a kid, with them watching? You claim to be the perfect Mormon, yet you have 2 Divorce behind you? Your Son was at home smoking crack while you rubbed bodies with dancer Jonathan Roberts on DWTS? And you were off on the road somewhere when your Daughter’s decided to get your attention by posting that they were Whores and Lesbians on MYSPACE? Lady, you need to clean you own backyard before you decide to clean someone elses.

I have to agree with Ben on this one, even though it’s still a bit self righteous to criticize Cyrus when your own kid is in rehab.

Maybe Marie Hosmond thinks she got the moral high-ground because she’s religious.

Let’s see it that way; by Christian standard, at the moment you accept Jee-Zus as your personal “Savior” you are forgiven all your sins. This is a serious delusion that can strip you out of all moral scruples.

On the other side, it is not a huge insult to Christian morale to smoke drugs since Jee-Zus himself said that the vile stuff is not what’s goes in the body but out. Having your teen daughter showing her back in a sexually-inspired move is way worse for religious bigots.

    Regardless, she’s an hypocrite.

C’mon she has like 18 kids or something. You can’t get ‘em all right. Really how much trouble can you get into in Utah?

One should not give parenting advice when one doesn’t have perfect kids. She is a member of the Church and is not good at that. What she is wearing here, and other times. Things she says, and when confronted. She is rude with comebacks. She is usually not there for her kids. Yes, she might drag them around with her. But there isn’t much one-on-one with them.

    I agree with Ben 100%.
