Here’s Katherine Heigl last November, standing behind the writers of Grey’s Anatomy:

And now here’s Katherine Heigl in today’s Gold Derby blog at the LA Times, standing behind those same writers and throwing them under a bus:
“I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention. In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials.”
That’s right, after her surprise Emmy win for Best Supporting Actress last year, she’s taking her ball and going home because she didn’t get enough face time on her stupid show. And she’s publicly blaming the writers she claimed to respect not too long ago. Smart. Well, it’s just par for the course, isn’t it?
The ride doesn’t last forever, Katherine. Two words: Shelly. Long.

I always that an important trait of a good actor is the ability to rise above the script and deliver a good performance.
Apparently, I’m wrong.
“she’s taking her ball and going home because she didn’t get enough face time on her stupid show”
Well she has an enormous face as evidenced by that picture so she needs less. With those glasses she could be “Katie the Happy Big Faced Fly”. She could even do the voice. I work cheap (liquor, and smokes) if Pixar needs any further cartoon ideas.
I really don’t find her appealing in the least.
I read the Vanity Fair article about her last year and found her to be pretty unlikable. It’s funny that she complained about her scripts from this year because it was the story line from last year, Izzy hooking up with the newly married George, that caused me to completely tune out Grey’s Anatomy (don’t get me started on the bitch who plays Meredith. She is the most annoying, dithering, main character since Ally McBeal).
However, I am of two minds on this. Maybe it is best to just be direct instead of offering up some lame excuse about why she removed her name from the ballot. I get sick of all these celebrities with their PR agents crafting every single word they say. There doesn’t appear to be a genuine person with a genuine response in the whole world. Everyone has to be so bland and boring so assholes like Perez won’t post about what assholes they are. So, on the one hand, I applaud her for being honest. On the other, she sounds like a whiny bitch. I just can’t decide.
I agree, sometimes I like her honesty (I don’t watch the show, but I’ve seen her on t.v.). But in this case, she could have said less to offend the writers who work with her. I’m sure she burned some bridges after this.
