So we know that the Planet Green network is relying on celebrities like infamous carbon-hog Leo DiCaprio to spread their message of saving the planet through sanctimony. But did you know who Planet Green’s “exclusive automobile sponsor” is?

And of course, you know what GM manufactures:

Save the Earth, buy a Hummer.
(Hat tip: PR Watch)

I read somewhere they’re going to discontinue that line because no one’s buying anymore. People who can afford it can’t afford to fill it up.
My husband and myself have this theory that people who drive Hummers are *ssholes.
Well that’s not very nice. I guess I always thought that way about people in BMWs.
Whats the difference between a porcupine, and a BMW?
Porcupines have the pricks on the OUTSIDE.
Guess I’m going to have trade in my Hummer and Beamer for a Prius…
People who judge others by the car they drive are the a**holes
Know what else GM makes? Hybrids. Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Malibu, Saturn Vue, GMC Yukon, and some others along with an actual electric car in the pipeline, the Chevy Volt. So they have to have someplace to drop all the adverts for these vehicles and what better audience that the watchers of Planet Green?
So the Discovery Channel is becoming Planet Green? Does that mean no more fascinating endless hours of crab fishermen, and logging guys? Thats too bad.
I’m not judging, I’m assuming. It’s still just a theory. I have no evidence so far to dismiss it though.
Regardless of all the “Green-Talk” out there, it is the fuel at 4$ Gal. who will wipe out the SUV breed. Just like the muscle cars of the ‘70.
Funny to say but soon the only ones able to drive SUV will be the rich people like those Hollywood Hypocrites. Soon we will be able to remind them their own words.
I have been saying for quite some time that the reality of Hybrids does not live up to their hype. Now Consumer Reports confirms this. Over at TerraBlog from TerraPass TerraPass: Fight global warming, promote alternative energy they did a further analysis. The premium for the hybrid drivetrain over the first five years of ownership is 3,700 to 13,300. ouch! Just buy a diesel which is less than a 1,000 premium and run biodiesel.
