So Miley Ray Cyrus has gotten herself a whole lot of negative publicity this year, eh? Scandal after scandal after scandal.
I’ve become so desensitized to the whole thing that this barely registered.
On her MySpace page, she recently posted some photos of her lying in bed with her 22-year-old backup dancer named Marshall. No word from Billy Ray about why she’s allowed to be alone in her room with someone old enough to hold a college degree (and who, let’s face it, probably doesn’t have one).
I’ll allow that it’s unclear anything untoward happened, but she’s 15, so that automatically makes it bad news. And it’s also, what, the third guy she’s been caught canoodling with this year? She says she does it all for Jesus, but even Jesus is now like “enough already, you’re not helping.”
I know 15 year olds are usually pretty clueless but come on! How dumb is this girl? She is still taking photos and putting them up on the internet? Maybe she has a lower than average iq or something.

She’s a little attention whore rebelling against her parents and employer in the most public way possible. Possibly just a little whore, too. Ultimately, I think the biggest lesson she can learn is to not claim she is doing “everything for Jesus” to the world and then do this because really, that’s what’s making her look stupid more than anything else.
And seriously, when I was 15, the only boys outside of the family allowed in my room was my one gay friend.
I am with Jenny on this - Miley continues to demonstrate an appalling lack of good judgement and intelligence, as do her parents.
15 year olds are not known for their good judgement, thats why they cant vote and get married and stuff.

She needs more supervision, thats all, shes just a stupid kid, and this stuff with the pictures is probably the most normal stuff she does (based on the stuff I see my young relatives post on their facebooks).
Billy Ray needs a kick in the ass. Take the camera away and supervise her internet. She might be a gazillionaire, but shes still just a dumb kid.
I still don’t understand why she was ashamed of the pictures in VF taken by Annie but she has issued no apologies of any sorts for the pictures of her showing her bra and kissing boys n sh*t. I find the latter to be much, much more disgusting.
Though, that picture with her father WAS super creepy. I accidentally bought that issues of VF (I didn’t realize it was that issue, I wanted to read the Bobby Kennedy article) and when I opened it I almost vomited.

Mkay, I was kissing boys and doing, ahem, other things when I was her age. Here is the big difference: I didn’t take photos and post them on the internet. You know, a spot where lots of people could see what I was up to, my friends, family, enemies and various perverts that I probably wouldn’t want to share my hijinks with. If it were the first time, I would write, “She’s young, she doesn’t know any better but I sure hope she learns her lesson.”
And yet……
After all of the hubub over the Vanity Fair pictures (I defended her at the time, wondering what the big deal was) and the other provocative photos she has posted online, you would think she would get that people notice what she does. So, she would decide to keep such photos PRIVATE. You would think Disney sat her down and gave her several stern lectures on how she needs to maintain her image or lose her job. Yet she continues to post this crap over and over and over again.
Does that seem like good judgment or bad? Does it seem like she is learning from her mistakes or making them over and over again expecting different results, the very definition of insanity.
Ok, so I change my supposition. Maybe she isn’t dumb, just insane.

Who cares! Look on myspace, thousands and thousands of 15 year-olds post pictures like that on there profiles. It’s no big deal. It’s normal We live in America.
Who’s obsessing or worried? I think Andrea and Carlo have got it a bit confused. When a person is in the public eye, they are automatically opening themselves up to criticism. That the two of you are reading these posts makes you no better than anyone with an opinion on the post, so it might be a good idea to get over yourself.
Furthermore, when one is under a Disney contract, they are meant to uphold a wholesome image. This is nothing new. Miley is not holding up her end of the deal by posint suggestive pictures on the internet. While I don’t think that the recent pictures of her in a blanket were a big deal, it’s the ones she posts herself that are, especially when one has said that they do everything for Jesus. So, was she posting suggestive pictures for Jesus?
Those of you who are teenagers and saying you do this sort of thing yourselves are, quite frankly, lacking parental guidance and IQ points. I’m a 34 year old woman who does NOTHING for Jesus, has a great bod, but would not upload even an innocent poolside picture of myself onto my myspace page. I have a little more self esteem than that, and don’t need the validation of the internet world. Kids that do this obviously do, and are just asking for trouble, more so than someone my age, who is less likely to attract an online predator.

Let me tell YOU something. I just turned 20 years old three months ago. I clearly remember what it was like being a f*cking teenager. The young and stupid card is just a cop out. The first time I had used the internet, I was twelve years old, and even then I knew not to post any personal photos or information in public.
Point being? I was twelve and knew better, what’s her excuse?
And I’m not sure about you and I think I’m better off not knowing what you post on Myspace, but I will have you know that I’ve had a Myspace account for three years, and never posted questionable pictures of myself on there.
But you know, shame on us for expecting someone at the age of fifteen to grasp the concept of common sense. You really can’t attribute the age factor to how she makes stupid decisions. After you’re age of deterring what is right from wrong and your ass from a hole in the ground, you should be held accountable for your actions. Sorry.
