Lauren Conrad, Unclear on the Fame Concept

Reality television star and “fashion designer” Lauren Conrad recently whined to L.A. Direct Magazine about how hard it is to be marginally famous:

“I always say this isn’t what I signed up for. I thought I signed up for a one-episode documentary.”

Seriously, who would make a documentary about Laguna Beach teens? Has she ever seen an honest-to-goodness documentary film before? Other than An Inconvenient Truth, if only because of the L.A. social stigma associated with not seeing it.

Anyway, she could have derived from the show’s title Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County that it might have been a reality ripoff of The O.C. (which remains the best show ever to be broadcast on television, other than Gossip Girl).

And I’m sure it was purely accidental that L.C. pursued her own spin-off to show her cruising around Hollywood in her Benz convertible. The Hills has made her just loads of cash — enough that she didn’t have to ask her dad for the downpayment on her new $2.5-million house in Hollywood.

And don’t forget the Lauren Conrad Collection fashion line she certainly in no way deserves. It just kills me that she charges that much for jersey.

Surely it’s not just me who sees that even if she didn’t “sign up for this,” she’s certainly milked it in every way she knows how.

If this ass clown meant it, she would go away. It doesn’t really take a keen sense of the obvious to realize that. I hate these reality show losers.

f*ck you she is awesome blossom fabulous and at least she doesnt sit on her ass and do nohting like all the rest of you people she is working and doing something with her opputunities so leave her the f*ck alone

Again I have to say “who??” (I don’t watch much TV these days) Oh, I see, another bimbo complaining about a lack of privacy while she cashes her huge checks. I have yet to see a reality show that shows reality.

If you had the opportunity to make millions, wouldn’t you milk it?

  5. 5 Hi Heels Lo Life Jul 9th, 2008 at 10:44 pm

If you can’t take the heat, get out of the spotlight glare. And don’t ask for a check. That’s my stance on soi-disant reality ’stars’ who complain about the effects of having signed a TV contract.
As for your comment, Missy Chelyssa, I DO in fact work and do something with my opportunities*; I left a teeny nowhere town and now have two master’s degrees and an upper-middle-class income in NYC. I’m sure many posters on here can report the same, and we all have every right to leave comments. You, on the other hand, sound like you need to show up to remedial summer school tomorrow.

*And along the way I learned to spell and punctuate properly.

JJ, if I had the opportunity to make millions, of course I would milk it, but I wouldn’t bitch about it either.

But otherwise, I am with Hi Heels here. I have worked hard for everything I have and no longer have to work at the ripe old age of 34. I think that, as well as the fact that I have never spread them, lowered my standards, or compromised myself gives me and just about everyone here the right to leave comments, because that’s what the majority of these no talent pieces of cheap ass do to get to where they are. Like Hi Heels, Chelyssa, learning to spell is a good start, but another piece of advice: find some better role models.

Is awesome blossom fabulous a phrase nowadays that I have missed out on? Wow. Did it start with Chili’s workers? I love that appetizer. Mmmm, food.

    Anyhow, back on point.

This girl HASN’T DONE ANYTHING besides ‘create’ a mediocre (AT BEST) ‘fashion line’ that was so overpriced that no one is going to buy it. Her name on the tag means NOTHING.

It was proven that the ‘jobs’ she holds for the ‘reality’ show she stars in were all f-a-k-e fake.

So, before bratty little cheerleaders (I am assuming here, I know - but who else would come up with awesomeblossomfabulous! ..?) decide they are going to drop f bombs for no apparent reason while attempting to offend an entire group of on-lookers and commenters to an actual educated blog (unlike *cough*Perez*cough) where the commenters don’t just sit and write “FIRST!” all damn day, maybe we should think twice about what we post.

I read chelyssa’s comment as sarcasm.

Who is this Lauren you speak of? What are these Hills? Where are they? What the f*ck is Laguna Beach? I must have been under a rock because I actually have no idea who or what these things are. I hear about it everywhere though. What is Heidi Montage(?) and how can we stop it?

i agree with the first comment.. i hate these TALENTLESS reality show losers as well. really, they are just a waste of space! i cannot wait until their 15 minutes are up. i’m sick of hearing lauren conrad boo hoo about “being famous” honey please.. save it. she’s not totally ugly, she’s rich, she should be enjoying herself. but instead she’s gotta bitch about it. cannot STAND people like that.

and can someone please explain this to me? “f*ck you she is awesome blossom fabulous and at least she doesnt sit on her ass and do nohting like all the rest of you people she is working and doing something with her opputunities so leave her the f*ck alone”

    awesome blossom fabulous? LMAO!!

sweet candy, you’re lucky you don’t know what any of that is. it’s pure CRAP. it is not entertainment, it is the slow disentigration of the american population. it’s insane. i wish i could give you an answer on how to stop heidi montag. i guess the lame ass paps should stop taking her picture. maybe if heidi stopped saying stupid things people would also stop making fun and talking about her. but she’s just so clueless. i almost (keyword: ALMOST) feel sorry for her.

and if i did have an opp. to make millions sure maybe i’d milk it. but i wouldn’t bitch about it either! lauren just seems like a little brat.

  12. 12 Katherine Jul 11th, 2008 at 2:21 am
