Continuing “Hey, Remember the Eighties?” week on Deceiver, Bill Cosby is making headlines for reportedly blacklisting actor Terrence Howard in show biz after a canceled appearance on The Cosby Show.
Howard says he confronted Cosby after his scenes were cut from an episode of the long-running show. Cosby’s ego was so offended that he made some calls and Howard says he didn’t work for four years. However, in 2005 Howard was nominated for an Oscar for his work in Hustle & Flow, so he’s doing better these days.
This isn’t the first time Cosby has tried to boss around the young actors he’s worked with.
Lisa Bonet, who played daughter Denise Huxtable on The Cosby Show, threatened legal action against the show’s producers after Cosby had her fired for starring in Angel Heart, a thriller that was nearly given an X rating. They settled by promising her her own spinoff, A Different World.
Big deal if he meddles, you say?
The big deal is that two years ago there were more than a dozen ex-models (one of whom was 18 at the time) who were willing to testify that he drugged and raped them, had he not settled the case out of court.
Celebitchy has all the lurid details if you want them, but just a warning that you’ll never look at a Puddin’ Pop the same again.

I’d say everybody should watch House of Cosbys anyway, but the fact that he doesn’t want you to is the icing on the cake.
If someone drugged and raped me I would want them punished. Not a big fat financial settlement. From the dozen available they all took the money huh? Did they get their lawyer from a Daytime TV commercial? “Have you been raped recently? Let us get you the money you deserve!”
And Lisa Bonet deserves to be wherever she is today for helping inflict Lenny Kravitz on the world.
If I were raped by Bill Cosby, I’d want him to rot in jail, not money.
I’m with Kim. I don’t care who it is, I wouldn’t settle for money.
*sigh* Everyone I used to respect has fallen by the wayside.
@ llamasrule:
I second that.
I need to take a bath now. With antibacterial soap.
“… willing to testify that he drugged and raped them …”
I think you just destroyed my childhood.
I would take the money
Over a dozen raped women, and not one presses charges? Right, and bigfoot is real too.
Ugh, not Bill Cosby! I don’t think I can trust anyone anymore.
I so don’t believe this. Aside from the fact that one shouldn’t just take what the media says to heart, I can’t believe that Bill Cosby would do that. I’m not going to believe a dozen bimbos who could easily have said, let’s target this guy, and found someone to go with it over him.
If he settled, chances are he’s got enough money to part with that he’d rather just hand out the money than make his life extremely uneasy by the scandal if it were to be on tv and tabloid covers constantly. Unless they were so frightened, and so without any chance of him getting convicted, it also seems odd that they would all be happy to just have some money and go away. I’ve never been raped, but I don’t know. It just really seems too “out there.”
Furthermore, bringing up issues with young cast members in the past is irrelevent. He didn’t rape them, and what he did with Lisa Bonet was probably for the best at the time. If she had starred in some softcore porn film, it could have potentially caused a lot of backlash towards the tv series. Family groups could easily have been up in arms that the top rated family show was harboring an illicit actor or “condoning” her actions. In addition, it wasn’t the times like today when having an almost sex tape would make an actor an even bigger celebrity.
