Memo To Al Gore: A Limo Is Not “Public Transportation”

Today Al Gore — who invented the Internet, you know — gave a big speech in Washington, DC on the topic of Global Warming, and how WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!™ unless we embrace his latest plan to outpace T. Boone Pickens’ latest plan. Or something like that. (Pickens was not amused, by the way.)

But for my money (which is quite substantial, if you count it in Yen or Pesos…), the most interesting part of this speech was what was happening outside. While Gore’s promoters asked ticket-holders to travel to the event by “public transportation, bicycling or other climate friendly means,” not everyone was into the green vibe. Including the speaker.

Take it away, right-wing hatchet-job group!

I would just like to point out that it is illegal to let your car idle for more than 3 minutes in D.C. So not only are the Gore people hypocrites, they are committing a crime!

Wonder what his electric bill was last month?

Al Gore reminds me of Lance Armstrong 10 years ago promoting Light Rail in Austin. He said it would make for better roads for bicyclists. What Lance forgot is that we are all not 6 time cycling champions. The bond program failed in misery.

Al Gore is a Nobel Prize winner because he has a really nifty Powerpoint programmer and understands that CO2 is a global warming gas. He has a point. So do a number of other scientists. Oh that’s right – Al is a lawyer, not a scientist.

Al: STFU. Your not a champion of anything other than Al. Polish your Nobel Winner medal Putz.

looks like the Michael Moore’ “Gonzo Activism” that I used to hate. I kinda love it now.

I guess the debate is over. Maybe just not the way Big Al wants it though. Chump.

How dare you question the Goreacle?!

Right Wing Hatchet Job Group?? How so? It appears they were showing the FACTS about what was going on and not the “Truth”, which is basically what you believe in and not necessarily what is factual.

But is any of this anything new to the Goreafites?? They Believe what ever the bloated one tells them.

Gore should drive a car like mine, 97 volvo with no ac in a RI summer (always HOT/HUMID?HAZY!!!) just doing my part to reduce the co2. but wait, isn’t co2 good now….i think that is was said in a recent sting post hmmm

I dunno. I’ll take Al Gore seriously the moment I’m convinced that he takes his own speeches seriously.

Hmm, looks like a “not yet” based on his actions. Color me surprised.

But at least I could “greenify” my mansion like he did so I can use more electricity. That would be a costly mistake that harms instead of helps…

Sorry, I’d be more kind, but I don’t have millions of dollars riding on “carbon credits” being the next new fad. Oddly Al Gore does… but I’m sure that has nothing to do with the idiocy he presents.

    Of course not.

    Al Gore who??????????????????????????

The guy is a weasel. Global warming? He needs to practice what he preaches. I was disappointed to the Nobel Peace Prize committee for giving him the award. I wonder how much he’s paid for that. Maybe he should return the million dollar he’s won. Better yet, send the money to Africa. He’s a disgraced to the previous Nobel Price holders.

Ok, the guys handling his transport are most likely secret service (was the vice president a few years back, I know I don’t like to be reminded of that either). They probably need to have those cars ready for a quick getaway in case of attack. So really its ok to have those cars because he needs them, like his house. Its just status quo, and thats ok…. Unless your Al Gore who says the status quo is not ok. I will listen to no celebrity (which Al Gore is at this point) who has a carbon foot print bigger then mine that has the gall to tell me to reduce mine. For Gore it doesn’t matter what he does, as a politician he had his chance to try something drastic, but it would have been bad for him politically, bad for his career. Now that he has found a way for saying this crap that helps his bottom line he won’t shut up.

  13. 13 Simon Scowl Jul 21st, 2008 at 10:25 pm

Al Gore no longer has Secret Service protection. Those were all his guys.

“Take it away, right-wing hatchet-job group”

Gee, I finally get called on and can’t say it any better than it’s already been said.

  15. 15 Anonymous Feb 2nd, 2009 at 12:17 pm

No, it’s not secret service, and no it’s not “his guys.”. It’s a booked limo from a limo company. The guys are employees of a company and may or may not have ever met the man before and may agree or disagree with what he says.
