Kate Walsh Flew Private to a Sustainable Living Event

Gotta hand it to Us Weekly, this story almost passed us by.

In their July 28 issue, they compiled data on the average carbon footprint among celebrities. Surprise, surprise — even the most environmentally vocal celebs waste way more energy than their fans do. The average American uses 24 tons of CO2 per year. The average Hollywood star? 170.

Take Private Practice star Kate Walsh for example.

Forget for a moment that she’s the spokesperson for Cadillac. In June she attended the Lexus Style Villa Sports Power of h Gala, a star-studded golf tournament that promoted Lexus’s new line of hybrid SUVs (apparently not a contradiction in terms) and “sustainable living,” whatever that totally greenwashed term means.

And how did she get from her home in Los Angeles to San Diego for the event? By private jet, of course!

Let me reiterate this point, because it cannot be overstated. She flew 136 miles. In a PJ. To a party. That promoted a green luxury lifestyle.

Remember that, if you break your keyboard, you will have to purchase another. This will generate an evil carbon footprint, you know…

I love how clueless those celebrities are; she could had drove there in a Honda hybrid. “Do as I said and not as i do” should be their moto.

You really can’t trust celebrities now can you? Integrity is dead.

It really makes it hard to take some of these people remotely seriously.

I now have reverse- Qwerty syndrome. From getting the keys imprinted on my forehead after slamming my head into my desk.

The whole raising awareness thing is really working! I am now aware of a woman I’ve literally never heard of until this second, flies in a plane to a party I wasn’t invited too, but am now aware of having happened, to celebrate a lifestyle, of which I now am aware, that I completely ignore everyday! Good goin’ there Kate!

I hope she’s into bad boys because I totally mix my recyclables in with the regular garbage. That’s just how I roll.
