I remember back in the early seventies, a mate of mine married a twin and the other twin married a "vegetarian hippy". My mate always used to say that going to their place for dinner was a nightmare and how sanctimonius they were about it etc etc.
One day they called around to visit unexpectadly, knocked on the door and just walked in (as you do with close relatives and friends) And they where both pigging out on Burger King.

everyone eats meat whether they realize it or not. I recall the response of a new guy at our work who was chowing into a salad sandwich whether he was a vegetarian. He said, I am sometimes. How true. Even washed salad still has bugs (animals) on it.

Also, what’s with the anti-vegan vibe? So there are people out there who eat a healthy diet; why is that a reason to insult them?

Nobody's insulting omnivores.

That's the box they use for a large potato wedges which are vegan. Yes it's better to avoid KFC all together but it is perfectly possible to eat there as a vegan. My DH and I sometimes get those and a couple of bean burritos (sans cheese naturally) when we want something cheap and fast.

Also, what's with the anti-vegan vibe? So there are people out there who eat a healthy diet; why is that a reason to insult them? Do the vegan haters also make fun of people who ride their bikes, go to the gym, or otherwise care about their health? Why is it considered so cool to not care about your health?
