Donald Trump Didn’t Buy Ed McMahon’s House After All

Donald Trump trumped up big time after backing out of a highly publicized offer to buy Ed McMahon’s trumping mansion.

The billionaire “television personality” was all too happy to enjoy positive press by playing cowboy this month and offering to rescue McMahon’s house from foreclosure.

The developer told the Los Angeles Times he doesn’t know McMahon personally, but acted out of compassion because helping out “would be an honor.”

McMahon, 85, who was Johnny Carson’s sidekick on the “Tonight” show for three decades, has not worked for about 18 months because of a neck injury. He defaulted on $4.8 million in mortgage loans with Countrywide Financial Corp.

McMahon’s spokesman, Howard Bragman, told The Associated Press that paperwork on the sale had not been completed but that McMahon was “very optimistic” the deal would go through.

“When I was at the Wharton School of Business I’d watch him every night,” Trump told the Times. “How could this happen?”

Not so fast — the house has sold, but not to Trump. According to his publicist:

“It’s a confidential deal, and the buyer wants anonymity, but I can tell you it is not Mr. Trump — and it’s not John McCain.”

I admit, I laughed at that one.

But way to go, Trump, for posing as the white knight but with no follow through. I almost believed you had it in you.

“Whew” thank goodness Ed got his house sold after years of overspending. How can someone his age and experience in the entertainment business not have funds for a rainy day?

@ jewels – Closet coke habit? Too many magazine subscriptions, hoping he’ll win that sweepstakes he advertised? Who knows…

I’ll tell you what happened…a younger wife. The current Mrs. McMahon probably pushed for the Hollywood luxury lifestyle even though Ed McMahon was getting up there in age, so they buy a house they couldn’t afford and may have blown more money than McMahon could possibly earn, even before his neck injury.

Donald Trump sued our local school district to fraudulently seize a piece of property he was supposed to lease from the school district for decades on his newly purchased golf course. The course was obtained for 10 cents on the dollar after NY banks forclosed on the property, he allegedly paid 20 million dollars for a 200 million dollar piece of california costal real estate. He went on to claim, on the first episode of the Apprentice, that he built this 200 MILLION DOLLAR course. He is a scum and a liar and the world would be better off without him, his arrogance or his ugly properties.

Yes, a younger wife happened. Repeatedly. Figure 3 (?) divorces, and halve your fortune each time. Voila! Forclosure! It’s called a prenup, Ed.
