Lynne Spears Didn’t Tell All About Britney, Still a Bad Parent

Evidently we were misled last week by leaked snippets of Lynne Spears’s tell-all book about raising Britney.

Now that Through the Storm has been released, it can be confirmed it does not discuss such gossipy tidbits as Britney losing her virginity as a middle-schooler or her teenage drug use. That’s not to conclusively say it didn’t happen, but it’s not part of the book.

Instead, Lynne focuses on how Britney’s eventual slut spiral was all her managers’ fault.

Page Six reports:

Britney Spears is said to be “furious” with her mother, Lynne, after Lynne detailed her daughter’s past in her memoir, “Through the Storm.” While the book doesn’t dish on Britney’s sex life or drug use, it blames all of Britney’s problems on her daughter’s former managers. Spears – who already considered her mother a siphon on her purse — is “upset” about the book, spies said, especially when she feels Lynne herself caused so many of her problems and issues.

Precisely. Is it any wonder that Britney grew up to be declared an unfit parent when her own mother apparently gave up personal responsibility for her and her sister years ago?

She’s still a piece of garbage for even writing this book which is all about capitalizing on her daughter’s fame in one way or another now that her daughter isn’t on speaking terms with her.

So that book is the biggest, most detailed shirking of parental responsibility ever? Who wants to read that, again?

yeah, how are her book sales going, anyway? At least maybe not many will be hurt by her “parenting advice”, except her daughter(s).

Let’s recap: One daughter is so mentally disturbed that her father has a conservatorship over her; the other daughter, a minor, just gave birth to a child whom she conceived by an adult who has not been charged with any crime.

Yet, this book is all about her trials and tribulations of dealing vicariously with her daughters’ stardom. Stardom she created when she started pimping her preadolescent daughters to Disney.

Shame on you, Lynne Spears. SHAME ON YOU!

Shouldn’t this book be titled ‘how not bring up your children in showbiz…’

She can blame the managers but, at the end of the day she is a mother. A mother’s duty is to protect your children no matter what.. You don’t hand them over to parasites to exploit.

Must be nice, in her mind, to still be able to blame all of her daughters’ problems on someone else… while she’s raking in the dough by sharing their private and painful secrets. Yeah, go Mom… :(

Another big Deceiver in this story is Thomas Nelson Publishers, her publisher. They are a “Christian Publisher.” They have dropped authors whose political/theological views differed from mainstream evangelical right-wing Christianity. But Lynn Spears is welcome on their list?

Sounds like a big angle for “it’s not our fault, it’s the liberal media/Hollywood movies/public schools’ fault.”

A 14-year-old does not dress like a skank and dance like a stripper on national television unless her parents allow it. They cared more for money than for their daughter, and I can’t see that there’s any other way to look at it.

And that goes for Billy Ray Cyrus, too, who will be writing the same book in 2013.

One more thing and then I’ll shut up and try some cleansing breaths.

This little tidbit is part of the publicity page:

“In 1999, while her parents filed for bankruptcy, Britney’s first hit “Hit Me Baby One More Time” debuted at #1 on Billboard. Within a year, Britney won four Billboard Music Awards including Female Artist of the Year. ”

Oh, it’s very clear what happened to your daughter, Lynne. Very clear. I don’t think it was the “fame machine.”

It might as well be an instruction manual on how to exploit our kids.

“Does Junior have a special talent? Then YOU have a chance to make years of easy income. Learn the secrets of getting your child’s sing/acting/dancing ability noticed and gain important contact to ensure your child becomes a STAR and makes YOU lots of $$$!”

    Kelli nailed it.

If you are going to put your kid in show biz and you let others exploit her shamelessly while you stand there and let them, then a lawn mower would make a better mother than you.

So she’s blaming it all on K-fed?! What does she think brought Brit to that point, of actually marrying someone like that??? She was, obviously, not the most well adjusted person to begin with. But, hey, another great story for Mom’s book… (groan)!
