James Cameron Had Nothing to Do With New Terminator Flick

Movie director McG, who is most famous for bringing Charlie’s Angels back to the big screen and The O.C. to TV, is currently directing the fourth movie in the Terminator franchise.

And to reassure everyone that he is capable of filling the big shoes belonging to James Cameron, who developed the idea and directed the first and second movies, he’s basically been telling everyone “oh yeah, I definitely got the O.K. from the J.C.” I like how in that clip McG calls him “Jim,” like they’re so tight.

Er, not so much. From James Cameron himself:

It could be a big steaming pile or it could be brilliant. Sam Worthington is in the Avatar and the new Terminator and he likes the script, but I never saw it. There was no blessing involved.

As if McG couldn’t look like more of a poseur.

Who the heck goes around with a silly name like “McG?” It sounds like a new McDonalds burger.

This is exactly the kind of movie I’ve been waiting all year to ignore. Like the Sarah Connor TV show, Terminator 3, The Dark Knight, Angelina Jolie. You know, the kind of stuff that gives basement dwelling nerds, and social misfits boners.

Oh this is gonna scream “SUCKS!”

You have to know when to let a story end.

Say what you will but with Christian Bale as John Conner it seems to be working. The clips I have seen show a very good movie in the making, but we will see after it is edited.

I just don’t even want to see it now.

Gwen Ifill on whether Don Imus is a racist.

Why do my journalistic colleagues appear on Mr. Imus’s program?

That’s for them to defend, and others to argue about. I certainly don’t know any black journalists who will.

FS, what does this have to do with the movie?

  15. 15 Fortunate Son Oct 1st, 2008 at 2:23 am

Nothing, as every Terminator after 2 has had a horribly convoluted plot, I am happy to let someone, almost anyone other than JC take control, provided its not that Japanese guy who ruined the Bond film Die another day with kiteboarding down a glacier (Lee Tamahori).

On the Gwen Ifill/moderator thing, I thought I was breaking something, but its all over MSM sites now.

    Internet time. It never sleeps.

Wow! Talk about Elitist snobbery. Pray tell Pastafarian, what does His Eminence consider view-worthy? Provided you can see a television from atop that very high horse… ;)

Teaser Trailor for you to judge.

Wow. I’ve been called a lot of things, but that’s the first time for snob. Cool.

Pastafarian, what is wrong with The Dark Night? What did batman ever do to you to make you hate him so much? I think you owe him some flowers mister!

  20. 20 Pastafarian Oct 1st, 2008 at 5:59 pm

You’re right. I do owe him some flowers. But he owes me BIG, like sex or something, for “Batman Begins”. There were parts of that movie that were so cringe worthy I actually laughed out loud. Sorry. I admit freely to being a TV/movie snob, but bad is bad. I don’t care what the budget, or the box office says.

  21. 21 Rocko Oct 1st, 2008 at 10:34 pm

Die Another Day was great, better then Casino Royale for sure. Is Batman in the new Terminator flick?

  22. 22 SweetCandy Oct 3rd, 2008 at 6:10 pm

Well if Christian Bale = Batman, then yes Rock, he is John Connor as well.

  23. 23 Batman Oct 3rd, 2008 at 6:12 pm

Okay Pasta, you win! Let’s do it! Uh….I have to be on the bottom though….I have a bad back.

Alright. But no Gary Oldman. Unless he’s dressed like Sid. Wait! I meant Lena Olin! Shut up!
