Peggy Noonan Is Credibility-Ruinin’

Just because the broads cupcakes girls over at Jezebel have gone bonkers at the very idea of a Republican woman in the White House (seriously: bonkers), that doesn’t mean they can’t sniff out a hypocrite who claims to be on Sarah Palin’s side. They’ve got a clip of former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan defending Palin and McCain on The Daily Show. Which would be nice if Noonan hadn’t gotten caught on an open mic last month saying Palin was toast. The same day she published a column in the Wall Street Journal praising Palin. Whoops!

Noonan has a point about professional political operatives. The latest unfounded Palin rumor that you can’t wait to drop in our comments at the mere mention of her? It didn’t just fall from the heavens, kids. You’re being manipulated. But for Peggy Noonan to complain about it? Look in the mirror, Peg.

God, Not These A-Holes Again

Hills d-bags Spencer and Heidi volunteered at Taco Bell yesterday in Los Angeles to raise money for world hunger.

Taco Bell donated $10,000 in their names to the World Food Programme at the event. Spencer and Heidi themselves donated nothing, which is really not that surprising. Just shameful is all.

But it kills me that these classless asses feel the best way to raise awareness about world hunger is to stuff their stupid faces with food. As if to say, “Suck it, third-world poor people! Scrounge together 99¢ and buy your own Chalupa.”

God, I didn’t think I could hate them any more than I did.

Meet David Suzuki, Famous (Occasional) Environmentalist

Canadians know (and either love or sneer at) David Suzuki as the king of eco-living and green movement cash-flow in the land of “eh?” Americans: Think of Al Gore with the assumed credibility of the late Carl Sagan.

But Winnipeg Sun columnist Tom Brodbeck found a different Suzuki today. And he smells like diesel fumes:

I notice David Suzuki himself didn’t “walk the talk” when he did his 40-city, rock star tour of Canada last year.

Remember that one? The chief frog counter driving all over hell’s half-acres in his own private diesel tour bus?

That’s right. Not a train or a hybrid vehicle as his foundation wants everybody else to travel in.

A bus. A diesel bus with a bunch of crew members on board. Not a bio-diesel bus, either. Straight up diesel — no ice …

If politicians should take trains and hybrid vehicles on their tours, why didn’t Suzuki do it on his tour?

Because he’s a hypocrite, that’s why.

If he had set an example by using wagons and rickshaws during his dog-and-pony road show, he’d be in a position to do some lecturing.

But he’s not.

Oh, but he was carbon neutral during that tour, his excited little surrogates exclaim. He offset his carbon emissions with carbon credits. You know, when you invest enough money into methane capturing devices in Bangladesh garbage dumps to supposedly offset your emissions here? … It’s like they never polluted at all.

On Suzuki’s “please give us your Loonies and Twonies” web page, he waxes on about how his foundation is “looking for the underlying root causes of our destructiveness so that we can find genuine solutions toward sustainability.

Uh-huh.
