Hey, You Know How Shanna Moakler Is All About PETA?

Last week we told you about Travis Barker breaking his 25-year vegetarian pledge to help speed the healing of his serious burns. And how the same week he announced it, his ex-wife and reality-show costar Shanna did this PETA ad:

AW-kward! And now faithful Deceiver reader NagelLadyKatie has dug up something from Moakler’s past that might be relevant to the whole thing:

Hey, Shanna! What’s that? Er, over your shoulders. I don’t know when this picture was taken, but I do know that thing is still dead.

WTF Is Piper Palin Doing With A Fake LV? An Update On The Previous Post

Deceiver.com loyalist Fortunate Son posted a comment in the previous thread with some evidence that Piper Palin’s Louis Vuitton is likely a $10 fake.

We’re willing to admit when we’ve been deceived ourselves. However, assuming now it is indeed fake, that’s a much bigger problem for Sarah Palin.

First of all, the counterfeit luxury goods industry is organized crime. Yes, like the Mafia.

The collateral damage of counterfeits has been well documented over the years, from evidence of child abuse and slavery to funneling money to terrorists, according to Interpol.

Some of you have commented that this is a lose-lose for Sarah Palin. Any way you approach it, she doesn’t come out looking good. But for someone running on a “real America” platform that I’m pretty sure doesn’t involve funding Hezbollah, she should have done her research first before hitting Canal Street.

Or better yet, just get Piper a Dora the Explorer backpack like every other primary schooler has. I’m sure she doesn’t even know or care what the LV logo signifies.

WTF Is Piper Palin Doing With An LV?

HuffingtonPost.com has a slideshow of all the goodies that $150,000 of the Republican National Committee’s money bought for Sarah Palin and her family at high-end department stores.

And everyone’s all in a tizzy over her $75,000 Neiman Marcus shopping spree, but that is honestly not my beef. She had to look the part and frankly needed the help. Plus, if she were taking fashion cues from Cindy McCain, well, the RNC would need to pony up a lot more than $150,000.

No, my beef is the photo at right. That would be Piper Palin, her 7 year old daughter, carrying a $790 Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Montorgueil PM.

Maybe she’s carrying her mom’s bag, although I haven’t seen any photos of Sarah Palin with an armload of LV. It’s also suspiciously Piper-sized.

It takes balls to use campaign money to buy your first grader a handbag that costs as much as the average American’s rent while talking about hard decisions at the kitchen table.

Almost makes John Edwards look like he frequents the Hair Cuttery, no?

UPDATE: A few eagle-eyed readers posted some evidence that the bag is a counterfeit. Click here for more details.

She’s Oprah. What Are You Gonna Do About It?

Remember last month, when everybody wanted Sarah Palin to go on Oprah’s show? But Oprah was like, “Well, er, um… Nah!” Here’s the excuse she gave:

“At the beginning of the presidential campaign, when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates.”

“I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.”

Well, that’s a principled stance. Fair enough. Good for you, O!

Wait, what?

Oprah Winfrey is offering to “produce” the half-hour Barack Obama advertisement set to air on Oct. 29, a top source tells the DRUDGE REPORT. The Daytime TV dynamo has even offered up her studio space in Chicago.

“She’s been begging Obama to let her help,” a source explaines (sic).

Hmm. I guess technically she hasn’t gone back on her word. She’s not using her show as a platform for Obama… she’s just building him a new one!

Maybe she’ll get Letterman to host. “Oprah, Obama. Obama, Oprah. Have you kids met Trig?”
