Hypocritical Humane Society? (Are They Any Different From PETA?)

Okay, I admit it. I haven’t really sat down and read a dead-tree edition of The New York Times since college.

It’s a pain in the butt to actually read a newspaper these days. Plus, frankly, it costs more to read it on paper than it does to use the Times‘ website. And this way, I don’t have to get dressed and leave my house to get the paper before I come back and read it in my underwear. I can even get the crossword puzzle online. What’s not to like?

The one thing you don’t get to see are the advertisements, which can be a two-edged sword.

On the one hand, you can avoid all the obnoxious ads for Broadway shows that you’ll never see if you don’t live in the Big Apple. On the other, you miss out on “issue ads” like the one at right. Sometimes they’re fun.

Apparently, this one ran in yesterday’s paper. It claims that the Humane Society of the United States is helping an animal-rights “terrorist” group with its holiday fundraising.

Don’t jump all over me for minimizing the meaning of the “t”-word. There was apparently an actual terrorism conviction in federal court. So there.

I went to the website at the bottom of the ad, and guess what? It’s run by the same people who brought us the “PETA Kills Animals” website. (In my book, that means they’re doing God’s work.)

I don’t claim to understand all the details addressed in the ad. But the authors documented their claims with 68 pages of evidence. Now, since i can’t be bothered to step outside for a freaking newspaper, there’s no way in hell I’m going to actually read 68 pages of anything unless it comes with a section of dirty jokes. But I figure if it was all B.S., the Humane Society would have sued by now. And I can’t find any sign that they have.

Hey! I just remembered something. I write for a gossip blog about famous hypocrites! The Humane Society of the United States is pretty famous. And since everybody we write about here is guilty until proven innocent, what the heck! I think it’s fair to say that no definition of “humane” would include helping a convicted terrorist group to sell black-tie gala tickets.

Those of you who have commented in some of our posts about PETA that the Humane Society of the U.S. is no better — you just might have your smoking gun.

Nice. The group was once called “Hugs for Puppies” and yet their leader threatens some kids. Dicks.

This is nothing new, nor the first ’smoking gun’. PETA and their ilk have long supported domestic terrorists. They’ve provided money for the legal defense of convicted arsonists, supported domestic terrorist organizations like ALF and ELF both monetarily and publicly, and even allowed ‘keynote speakers’ (coincidentally one of the convicted arsonists listed above) to hold bomb-making clinics. It’s alright though, since they’ll only use their gasoline bombs against research centers trying to cure cancer – it’s not like they’ll use them against the homes and families of those researchers….

No jokes for these f-ckers. Anyone convicted of terrorism should be taken outside and shot. Not sentenced to prison. Especially Americans committing acts of terrorism against other Americans

And if the Humane Society is actually helping them they’ll never get a dime from me.

I saw this earlier today before my computer decided it would crap out after I installed some updates. Good thing I am married to an IT guy. Anyway, a lot of these animal organizations are up to no good with this sort of thing, so that the misnamed HUMANE Society is in on this sort of douchebaggery comes as no surprise. I stopped donating to them long ago because of some questionable things they were doing in my area at the time.

Wouldn’t it be nice if people like this would stop giving the rest of us, who actually want to do something good for animals, a bad name?

Shooting is too good for people like that, Pasta. Unless they are gut shot.

HSUS is almost as bad as PETA. (However, local humane societies, from what I understand, are *not* affiliated with HSUS.) Aside from local humane societies, the only national animal welfare organization that is worth supporting is the ASPCA. They actually *help* animals, rather than using their money to have some bimbo pose nude for an anti-fur ad. You also won’t hear of them euthanizing healthy, adoptable animals and dumping their bodies in dumpsters.

It’s hard to find a reputable organization that helps little critters and isn’t run by fanatical moonbats. ASPCA is a good one (thus far), local shelters, and even some private-run no-kill shelters.

Married to an IT guy .. I’m sure that’s what he wants to do, come home and work on another computer. :)

The animal rights movement was started in 1933 by Hitler. One thing not being said or seen is a group of real class A terrorists who are involved in this violent movement. The White Aryan Nation has been inching into this movement. The Aryans claim that the ar movement belongs to them. The Aryans became publically noticeable when convicted OKC bomber laid claim to the Aryans. Photo evidense from a Aryan training camp confirmed. The Aryans claim bloodline links to Hitlers army.

It’s ok, Rocko, he works from home and when my computer works, I bug him less. ;)

The Aryan Nations is moving into animal rights groups? Get a hold of yourself skippy.

Pastafaria, maybe they were just trying to get bombing tips from Peta’s and USHS’ friends.

I just noticed something: It’s been about 12 posts, and none of the PETArd, animals are equal, meat is murder types have stepped up to defend this idiocy. What gives?

It’s the weekend. Give them time.

  15. 15 D---- Dec 15th, 2008 at 9:44 am

I think we scared them off with the last PETA/Animal story

  16. 16 MC Mom Dec 15th, 2008 at 2:01 pm

I’d step up to defend, but…ah, who am I kidding. No way.

Glad to hear the ASPCA is a decent group. I’d hate to have to stop using the address labels they send me every few months.

  17. 17 Kristine Dec 16th, 2008 at 3:30 pm

Guys, c’mon, stop being stupid!! Did this group ever actually kill anyone? No. Therefore, they are not terrorists! Duh.

  18. 18 Julie Dec 16th, 2008 at 3:54 pm

    Kristine,

You don’t have to kill someone to be a terrorist. Stalkers are a type of terrorist, whether the are physically abusive or not, their intent is to threaten, and, obviously, terrorize. Thus the name TERRORist…

Hey did you realize that Wayne Pacelle the head of the H$U$ used to work for PUTA oops I meant PETA ;-) Yup….trained by every animals best friend Ingrid.

Well like we like to say around the old kaffeeklatch the only thing difference between PETA and the H$U$; Wayne Pacelle got a better suit and watch when he went to work with H$U$

  21. 21 The Endangered Owner Dec 29th, 2008 at 12:30 am

The ad that ran is dead on the money. The H$U$ is the wealthiest, most deceitful of ALL the AR groups..and, yes, the ASPCA is AR.
Anyone that wants to help animals should donate to their local NO-KILL shelter or favorite dog breed specific rescue group.

The H$U$ agenda is the same as Peta’s …as in, NO animal use. Period. However, being radical (like Peta) doesn’t garner the MILLIONS in donations from “Joe-The-Pet-Owner”, nor would it give them political clout.

The H$US is FAR more dangerous than their cousin-in-lies, Peta…at least the latter is up-front about what they are up to…The H$U$ plays the “animal welfare” card, all the while playing the “Animal Rights” game…

Remember, Wayne P. has stated very clearly…”One Generation and OUT…” And they mean it. As a dog owner, WE are in their bullseye for 2009..

Death threats and kidnapping threats coming from the anti-Petland HSUS campaign?!?!?!?! HSUS and Wayne Pacelle show us YET AGAIN they are a domestic terrorist group! How dare you put the life of HUMAN BEINGS in jeopardy to raise MORE millions for your own personal use! You will be held accountable for your criminal actions by the US government. You are not going to sleaze you way out of this one Wayne. I am absolutely repulsed by the HSUS terrorist machine!
