See, this is why PETA needs to get out of the business of issuing indulgences to certain celebrities — because nobody in Hollywood walks the walk and they end up looking dumb for ever praising someone who, say, abandons her dog in an office building.

Beyoncé went in for a meeting at Columbia Records last summer with her pekingese Munchie, but left without the pup. LAST SUMMER, you guys.

Since then, Munchie has been adjusting to her new living arrangements which surely don’t include gold-plated doggie bowls and low-carb biscuits.

A source at the label said: “Munchie has effectively taken up residency. Beyonce left the dog here towards the end of last summer and hasn’t returned to pick Munchie up.”

The source added: “Puddles of liquid are appearing all over the office. Staff are taking turns to take Munchie for walks and take it home on the evenings and weekends.”

That is the saddest thing I’ve heard all day. Munchie was voted America’s Most Eligible Pet in 2005, posing with Beyoncé on the cover of Animal Fair magazine, so someone please rescue that poor dog. (Preferably not PETA.)
