Spencer and Heidi Undergo Political Reassignment Surgery

27555PCN_SpencerSpencer and Heidi know which way the wind blows. The pair was prancing about this week in political tees, casting their support for President Barack Obama while riding bikes in Los Angeles.

Which is funny when you remember the time they wore Palin shirts whilst carrying a six-pack of Bud, a shotgun, and Harry Browne’s You Can Profit From A Monetary Crisis.

Or when Heidi endorsed McCain for president, even though she wasn’t registered to vote in either Colorado (where she’s from) or California (where she currently lives).

So I guess what I’m saying is, Spencer and Heidi know how to stage a photoshoot and wear tee shirts better than they have any idea what their political beliefs actually are.

Which leads me to: Is there anything about this couple that’s authentic?

Why yes, there is. They are authentic idiots.

  2. 2 Les Paul Jan 21st, 2009 at 12:24 pm

“…while riding bikes in Los Angeles.” Looks more like “posing” with bikes. Well, I’ll have to take your word for it. After all, it is just one picture. Surely they know how to ride ‘em.

I pledge to never give a rats ass about these two douchebag whores ever…..whoops, wrong post.

  4. 4 Pastafarian Jan 21st, 2009 at 12:45 pm

You just know Heidi thinks a “Barack and Roll” is something old Jewish people eat.

  5. 5 Queen Bee Jan 21st, 2009 at 1:02 pm

Why won’t anyone just run them over? Somebody who reads this blog has to live in Southern California or have a vacation planned sometime soon that can run their asses over? Can the Deceiver make a pledge to not cover them anymore? I know Twit and Twat are prime candidates for Deceiver but man this guys make me too crazy.

  6. 6 D---- Jan 21st, 2009 at 1:12 pm

The tires on their bikes look pretty darn new and everyone knows that bikes are only riden’ at the beach.

  7. 7 Chronic Malanga Jan 21st, 2009 at 1:17 pm

This hardly shocks me. They are probably bitter that they weren’t able to fame whore at the inauguration. What a pair of douches.

  8. 8 Habanada Jan 21st, 2009 at 1:19 pm

One of the grossest pictures ever on so many levels . . . You know, I doubt if they knew what they were wearing, either with the Palin shirts or now with the Obama ones. They just reach into the magically always-supplied closet and put on what comes to hand. Pasta’s right–she probably thinks that’s something edible, and if he knows whose picture is on that shirt . . . well, I just bet you money he doesn’t ;)

  9. 9 Simon Scowl Jan 21st, 2009 at 1:21 pm

Are they really atypical Obama supporters? Just wondering.

  10. 10 Habanada Jan 21st, 2009 at 1:51 pm

LOL! That comment made my day, Simon–so sad, it’s hilarious. I’m inclined to think the answer is “no.”

  11. 11 StrawberryGirl Jan 21st, 2009 at 1:56 pm

Where’s that country with the ebola virus? Maybe Obama can send them over there as “goodwill ambassadors.”

  12. 12 phoenix Jan 21st, 2009 at 2:08 pm

Oh come on Simon, are you really saying that anybody who DARED to support Obama is just as bad as twit and twat?

You couldn’t be more bitter if you were dipped in vinegar.

  13. 13 Victor Jan 21st, 2009 at 2:25 pm

Is there anything about this couple that’s authentic?

I suspect they have their original toenails.

  14. 14 D---- Jan 21st, 2009 at 2:48 pm

“You couldn’t be more bitter if you were dipped in vinegar.” – I am willing to bet Simon has only scratched the surface of his well of bitterness

  15. 15 Scott F. Jan 21st, 2009 at 2:58 pm

No Phoenix – he wasn’t saying they’re ‘as bad’ as someone who DARED to support Obama (a statement that would be false). He was saying they’re about ‘as politically informed’ as someone who DARED to support Obama (a statement that is true).

Most of us who are bitter aren’t bitter because our guy lost, but WHY the other guy won. People are acting like he has the largest mandate in history when he still only managed to garner 52% of the vote with every media group in the country stumping for him and a solid 30-40% of his base only voting for him because of his skin color. Go to YouTube and watch some of the street interviews with Obama supporters if you don’t believe me. My favorite is the one where they walk around asking people if they support Obama because of he supports (enter random plank of McCain’s platform), and they all just can’t wait to tell you how proud they are that he wants to ‘Stay in Iraq and finish the job’. It’s a damn joke how little these people bothered to learn about Obama besides the fact he was A) Not Bush and B) He’s just so damn cool!

  16. 16 MC Mom Jan 21st, 2009 at 3:23 pm

It’s too bad someone hasn’t given them t-shirts with “World-Class Tool” on them and told them it’s a hot new indie band. That photo op would make my whole week.

  17. 17 Pastafarian Jan 21st, 2009 at 3:25 pm

    Why is Guantanamo still open?

Why are there still troops in Iraq?

Why? Why? Why? I thought all of this was supposed to happen on day one dammit!

I’M WAITING! WHERE’S MY DAMN UNICORN!

    I’ll wait right here.

  18. 18 Hurricane Jan 21st, 2009 at 3:31 pm

Scott F- great reply to those ‘tards. I’m certainly not bitter becuase “my guy” lost. Lord knows how much I wish I had a better candidate to vote for.

But yeah – A & B were the reasons people came out to vote for our black president, er, Dear Leader.

Just wait till they find out the UFO the Dear Leader has is just some cheap cardboard and a bicycle!

  19. 19 Simon Scowl Jan 21st, 2009 at 4:46 pm

Oh come on Simon, are you really saying that anybody who DARED to support Obama is just as bad as twit and twat?

No. Can you point out where I said that?

You couldn’t be more bitter if you were dipped in vinegar.

I don’t remember insulting you in such a manner. If that makes me the bitter one, so be it.

  20. 20 phoenix Jan 21st, 2009 at 4:52 pm

    Scott F.

So glad you know WHY everyone who voted for Obama did, and are find making fun of them based on that assumption. After all, we all know all democrats think alike and couldn’t possibly be informed…

Must be nice to have convinced yourself that anyone who voted for the other guy did it because they’re a moron. Not because it’s a two party system and people might disagree with the priorities you took to the booth.

Did a lot of people vote for Obama for the wrong reasons? Yes. Are lots of voters ill-informed. Yes. This is nothing new, most voters on both sides are often ill-informed. But hey, since the media darling won this vote everyone who voted for him MUST have done so because Oprah said so. There’s no other conceivable reason people wouldn’t vote for McCain and Palin!

Deceiver- all about highlighting hypocrisy and randomly bitching about how anyone who voted for Obama is an ill-informed moron. I mean, if you can’t whine about Obama winning a democratic vote in a post about Twit and Twat then it’s like you’re being oppressed!

  21. 21 Simon Scowl Jan 21st, 2009 at 4:54 pm

Deceiver- all about highlighting hypocrisy and randomly bitching about how anyone who voted for Obama is an ill-informed moron.

I think you’re going to need to back that up. You sound a bit silly, if I may be so vulgar.

  22. 22 phoenix Jan 21st, 2009 at 4:59 pm

Oh wait, I forgot, I must be cutting Obama slack because his black, not because that was an incredibly juvenile, off-topic post that completely trivialized and insulted readers for no reason other than Simon’s bitter and insists we all know about it regardless of what the blog is about. Right?

  23. 23 Tracie Jan 21st, 2009 at 5:04 pm

    Scott F., maybe A. should be “He wasn’t McCain/Palin.”

If it was ok for people to vote red because McCain and Palin represented them in all their 6-pack, Democrat-hating glory, can it be ok for my less than ideally versed in politics self to have voted for Obabma because he spoke to where I hope our country can go as a society?

In my humble opinion, it’s a joke to think you or I have any real power to affect whether Guantanimo is closed or not, or how long the war goes on, but I do believe in the power of you and me to get along enough, and feel empowered enough, to make positive changes in our communities. Looking out for each other, planting trees together, hunting, butchering, and bbq-ing wild boar and tofu together. Think we can do it? It’s gotten rather hokey, but I do think we can. And I think we need to. I’m no Cameron Diaz, but you might not need me to be.

  24. 24 Tracie Jan 21st, 2009 at 5:05 pm

How nice that I said Obabma.

  25. 25 Simon Scowl Jan 21st, 2009 at 5:29 pm

I honestly have no idea what you’re going on about. You seem determined to insult me personally, so I’ll leave you to it.

Uhm … vinegar is sour. Not bitter.

    Just saying.

“It’s a damn joke how little these people bothered to learn about Obama besides the fact he was A) Not Bush and B) He’s just so damn cool!”
How is that different than people who voted for Sarah Palin because she is a good Christian woman with lot’s of kids? Or that many people voted for Bush because he seemed more likable than Gore? I think we are all aware that there many, many, many, many voters who don’t bother to educate themselves on what is in their best interests. Is the main grievance that it didn’t work to your advantage this time?

  28. 28 phoenix Jan 21st, 2009 at 5:42 pm

Yeah, Simon, me being offended that you assume all Obama supporters must be morons is me insulting you personally. Yes…obviously. And clearly you aren’t bitter about Obama winning and taking every opportunity to mention it…I don’t know what it was about your comment that made me thing that. And it’s not like you play the ‘criticizing Obama will make you lefties accuse me of being racist’ card with every Obama post you’ve done.

Clearly it’s my fault for paying attention to what you say. Don’t worry, won’t happen again! Kiss kiss!

  29. 29 Scott F. Jan 21st, 2009 at 6:22 pm

“but I do believe in the power of you and me to get along enough, and feel empowered enough, to make positive changes in our communities.”

See, I’m all for that! I just find it f-ing hilarious that apparently 52% of the country found it necessary to elect someone who said they should get involved before they just… got involved. See, Republicans are all about private charity and personal volunteerism, it’s the best way to make sure the government doesn’t try to step in and ‘help’ fill the vacuum.

I notice you also brought up the whole six-pack thing, which if we’re gonna get technical about demeaning people (as you said I did by insulting their intelligence) the six-pack reference is just a PC(read pussy) way of calling someone a redneck.

And Queen Bee, we usually see eye to eye, but if you think any Republicans have been caught winning a popularity contest in the last 20 years you’ve been living on Mars. There hasn’t been a Republican ‘cult of personality’ since Reagan. Both Bushes were regarded by everyone but their staunch supporters as bumbling idiots that couldn’t help vomiting on foreign dignitaries or properly pronounce the word nuclear. Bush won his second term by 3 million votes not because people liked him, but because people still recognized at that point that we are at war, and Kerry was basically running on a platform of losing it on purpose. Hindsight of course showed that staying worked, and Iraq stabilized (not that I’m expecting any apologies from the surrender monkeys).

  30. 30 Simon Scowl Jan 21st, 2009 at 6:45 pm

Yeah, Simon, me being offended that you assume all Obama supporters must be morons is me insulting you personally.

I didn’t say that. Why do you keep saying I said that?

Clearly it’s my fault for paying attention to what you say. Don’t worry, won’t happen again! Kiss kiss!

    What was that about bitterness?

  31. 31 Habanada Jan 21st, 2009 at 7:46 pm

What Simon said: Twit & Twat are politically uninformed, like many Obama supporters.

What they heard: EVERY OBAMA SUPPORTER IS A MENTALLY RETARDED IDIOT AND OH MY GOSH I FREAKING HATE THEM!

At the risk of geting flogged myself, I’ll just sigh and say that *again*, this is not atypical liberal behavior, to take a specific statement they disagree with and turn it into a ridiculous generalization no one could agree with. Take a logic class and try again.

  32. 32 Chronic Malanga Jan 21st, 2009 at 8:09 pm

Wasn’t this about Spencer and Heidi’s politics of hypocrisy?

  33. 33 Tracie Jan 21st, 2009 at 8:37 pm

    Hey again Scott…

Joe 6-pack? Palin’s term, not mine; I meant no insult. She was courting that “redneck” base with all her gall derned likability and -I’m just like youism-. If she is politically esteemed, as one would hope of the VP, or perhaps a 2012 Pres. candidate, why then is Obama not held in the same regard for finding what connects with the perhaps less politically informed segment of his base?

I think my ultimate point is to be aware that we are all extraordinarily possessed of the ability to fail spectacularly. I believe Obama has the honesty to admit that on a more personal and human level than, sorry, many Republicans. I certainly have not heard Palin be humble. I don’t need a Messiah, I need a leader who is capable of stirring something in us all besides hatred, if we’re open to it. Someone who uses something other than fear and bile to make themselves fly higher in the political skies. I didn’t watch any of the inauguration or the buildup, because I can’t stand the ratings sweepsiness of the whole thing. I will be watching the way the President conducts himself with the “hope” that he can pull off the mass shakeup in the way we deal with each other that he seems to want.

I do not pretend that Obama is perfect, but I am looking forward to seeing what he can inspire. Oh, and it would be nice if we could somehow not fall deeper into crisis based on his actions. And maybe not get ourselves into another war. Or have our world reputation further damaged. Forward motion would be good.

BTW, I’m still digesting how I feel about my posting here being brought on by a story about S H. I really would be pleased if they never showed up in print anywhere ever again. They represent all the blech I feel about blatant commercialism. (And I even love to buy shoes.)

  34. 34 Simon Scowl Jan 21st, 2009 at 9:26 pm

She was courting that “redneck” base with all her gall derned likability and -I’m just like youism-.

Note to Republicans: In 2012, look for somebody less likable who has less in common with most Americans.

I think my ultimate point is to be aware that we are all extraordinarily possessed of the ability to fail spectacularly. I believe Obama has the honesty to admit that on a more personal and human level than, sorry, many Republicans.

What is this belief based upon?

I certainly have not heard Palin be humble.

She still lives in Wasilla. She cooks her family’s meals. She flies coach. She just refused a pay hike. But she’s not humble.

I don’t need a Messiah, I need a leader who is capable of stirring something in us all besides hatred, if we’re open to it. Someone who uses something other than fear and bile to make themselves fly higher in the political skies.

Try to remember that the next time he insists that the economy will collapse if we don’t give him more control over it.

Oh, and he certainly had no problem with all the hate stirred up against Joe the Plumber. All he had to do was say, “There’s no reason to go after this guy just for asking me a question.” That would have shown… what’s the word? Leadership.

  35. 35 katie Jan 21st, 2009 at 11:06 pm

these 2 are such a joke. i’m sick of them and kinda off topic but i don’t read perez hilton anymore because he’s so far up their asses now. its pathetic.. perez is another one who goes back and forth on obama. these 2 just picked up those shirts and called up the “paparazzi” they split the money with for the staged pictures and there you go! really sad.

  36. 36 katie Jan 21st, 2009 at 11:06 pm

oh and kinda sad this post turned into something about sarah palin. she makes me about as ill as these 2, lol!

  37. 37 Jre Jan 22nd, 2009 at 3:03 am

“I do believe in the power of you and me to get along enough, and feel empowered enough, to make positive changes in our communities. Looking out for each other, planting trees together, hunting, butchering, and bbq-ing wild boar and tofu together.”

Quite amazing, Tracie, that all this was impossible to do over the past EIGHT YEARS. Alas, all those rednecks living in the flyover states just wouldn’t listen to their betters and had to be shunned – but now that the left controls the government, let’s hug!

  38. 38 Pastafarian Jan 22nd, 2009 at 8:50 am

    Why, exactly is that katie?

  39. 39 jay Jan 22nd, 2009 at 12:08 pm

I’m not defending Heidi and Spencer, and god knows I fully believe that the only reason they do 99% of what they do is to get attention. However, I don’t think there’s *necessarily* anything wrong with supporting the democratically-elected president, even if you previously supported his opponent. At this point, the McCain/Palin ship (and every other party’s ship – I voted for Bob Barr, personally) has sailed. Although I disagree with many of Obama’s political stances, I live in this country, this is how our political system works, and I support our new president and wish him all the best. I’m certainly not ascribing my views to Speidi; I just don’t think their actions are hypocritical in and of themselves.

  40. 40 Habanada Jan 23rd, 2009 at 6:29 pm

Hey, Jay–Nope, nothing wrong with supporting the democratically-elected president, even if you voted for the other guy, UNLESS THAT DEMOCRATICALLY-ELECTED PRESIDENT WAS GEORGE W. BUSH. In that case, disrespect away! It’s fun!

What’s wrong with the Spencer-Heidi thing is just that (like I said earlier) I doubt they have any clue who’s on their shirt–when it was McCain or now that it’s Obama. “Dur, it’s some kind of singer-person, right?” Not specifically hypocritical, okay, but worth picking on. I guess. I still don’t know who these trollops are ;)

  41. 41 all one word Jan 24th, 2009 at 3:09 am

all of politics is a popularity contest.

  42. 42 WUD Jan 26th, 2009 at 1:33 pm

I may be a little late to this game (read:argument) but come on, there WAS an insinuation that Obama supporters are ill-informed morons, Simon. Be fair. You insinuated that a typical Obama supporter was a stupid blonde flip flopping and jumping on a trend. (And please, do tell how Palin’s $100,000 shopping sprees are humble. I’m dying to know.)

Nevermind that many Republicans are bandwagon jumpers who end up voting for their party because if they vote for the baby-killers, Jesus will send them to hell.

I’m actually surprised that there are any Republicans on Deceiver. I thought you guys saw through the bullshit. Sure, all politicians are bad, but there is definitely a worse of two evils. Is it suddenly cool to be a sour-grapes Republican, now?

You say you didn’t insult anyone, Simon, but you did. You insulted a lot of people here by indicating that if they supported Obama, that they didn’t have any educated valid reasons. That a typical supporter was someone like Heidi. If that isn’t an insult I don’t know what is.

    I voted Nader btw.

  43. 43 Beige Feb 6th, 2009 at 1:43 pm

It was apparently cool to be a sour-grapes Democrat for eight years. Hate was totally in. What, it’s out now?

  44. 44 MC Mom Feb 6th, 2009 at 2:45 pm

I’m confused. I voted for Obama and still haven’t seen anything in this post or thread that states (or insinuates) that I’m an uninformed moron.

And by the way, WUD, what is the connection between Palin’s $100K wardrobe and humility? Besides the fact that the RNC bought her those clothes, why do you assume that a wealthy person can’t be humble?

Opinions expressed in these comments are those of the commenters, and probably don't represent the views of your humble Deceiver bloggers. If your comment doesn't appear right away, please be patient. We "moderate" comments to sift out spam, obscenities, and harassment.

All (civil) opinions are welcome. And if you can't be civil, at least be entertaining!
