Evangeline Lilly to Sell Lingerie for Children

evangelinelillyWait, that didn’t come out right. Here, let her tell it:

The Lost beauty has teamed up with Ebay Giving Works and leading auction management group Auction Cause to barter off intimate goodies (from her personally inspired collection of Brazilian made R*Favela Lingerie) just in time for Valentines Day.

Lily’s hand-picked collection includes over 2,000 pieces of panties and bras in an assortment of cuts, colors and styles to suit every woman’s dreams and desires. But here’s the good news – 10 percent of the proceeds will go to Task Brasil which works to provide a loving and supportive home environment for street children and adolescents in the South American country.

“I’m offering beautiful Brazilian-made lingerie as a fun and enticing way for you too not only invest in yourself, but in the poor and abandoned children of Brazil,” Lilly said.

Okay, so maybe this isn’t really Deceiver-worthy. But the idea of selling ladies’ underpants for the kids is like LOL WUT? Well, it’s for a good cause. And I like looking at pictures of Evangeline Lilly. And the word “underpants.”

Hey, do you think she’ll pick Jack or Sawyer? Oh, I can’t wait to find out.

Can we *please* auction Sawyer’s boxers off next?? ;)

  2. 2 Pastafarian Jan 30th, 2009 at 4:57 pm

Lingerie for children? Now I know who to call before my next trip to Thailand.

  3. 3 Holly Won't Jan 30th, 2009 at 5:36 pm

What would be awesome is if the lingerie were made in Brazilian factories that rely on child labor. By the children, for the children.

  4. 4 winewife Jan 30th, 2009 at 5:54 pm

I notice she didn’t buy any underwear for the photo you posted. Simon, is this an elaborate ruse to get that picture up on your site? Naughty boy.

  5. 5 Stan Jan 30th, 2009 at 6:46 pm

Sawyer always struck me as a commando sorta guy

  6. 6 Pastafarian Jan 30th, 2009 at 7:35 pm

Pick Jack or Sawyer for what? I see Sawyer mentioned twice in the comments. Who are Jack, and Sawyer?

  7. 7 Les Paul Jan 30th, 2009 at 10:43 pm

Pasta…tsk… get out of the dark ages (you mean they’re still alive? I thought everyone got replaced by clones … or something — I really oughta watch more than 5 minutes of that show).

  8. 8 Habanada Jan 30th, 2009 at 11:43 pm

I think Sawyer’s that kid in the Mark Twain book, Pasta.

  9. 9 D--- Jan 31st, 2009 at 12:42 am

Pasta – I was in the same boat so I prayed to the almighty Google God and I was blessed with these results

    Sawyer – http://z.about.com/d/lost/1/0/m/d/-/-/Sawyer-Sings.jpg
Jack – http://cache.defamer.com/assets/resources/2008/05/lost-jack-hair.jpg (that is one for you ladies)

I guess they are both characters on Lost, since I have never seen the show I can’t tell you much else

  10. 10 Pastafarian Jan 31st, 2009 at 11:04 am

Right on. Thanks. I’ll check my local listings to see what day, and time this is on.

    Alright I’m lying. I won’t.

  11. 11 StrawberryGirl Jan 31st, 2009 at 12:23 pm

I predict Jrod would hit it.

  12. 12 Rocko Jan 31st, 2009 at 3:25 pm

Am I the only one who can see her nipples?

  13. 13 Rocko Jan 31st, 2009 at 3:25 pm

I should read the comments before I post. I’ll write that down so I remember it next time.

  14. 14 lilith Jan 31st, 2009 at 3:39 pm

Maybe before selling bras she should start wearing them…

  15. 15 Malicious Lingerer Jan 31st, 2009 at 7:11 pm

It’s terrible how they advertise it as a good cause and everything… and then they only donate 10% of the profits.
    So a $100 dollar bra… that’s $10 when it could easily be $80

and they actually make you believe you’re helping

I don’t think that this is necessarily Deceiver worthy. It isn’t as though the lingerie is being sold to children, and while 10% is a pretty low figure, I have to shrug and say that it’s better than nothing at all.

  17. 17 Habanada Feb 1st, 2009 at 10:19 am

I agree, Chronic, but I was just going let Simon have his picture of the hot LOST chick ;) ‘least it’s not Piven.

    I don’t really think she’s that attractive…

Stan, according to Adult Swim’s Dethklok…..commando is known as “Free-ballin’”

  21. 21 Chronic Malanga Feb 1st, 2009 at 4:11 pm

LMAO! I am a girl, and prefer a hot chick to Piven. Does that make me a fake lez?

  22. 22 Chronic Malanga Feb 1st, 2009 at 4:11 pm

Yeah, Simon… I didn’t know just what to say to this, honestly. I don’t think it’s that bad.

  23. 23 Pinandpuller Feb 1st, 2009 at 4:55 pm

Does a hand-picked collection of her lingerie come with a restraining order?

I think that a scavanger hunt sounds a lot more fun.

  24. 24 Simon Scowl Feb 1st, 2009 at 5:25 pm

    I don’t think it’s that bad.

    Who does?

  25. 25 Chronic Malanga Feb 1st, 2009 at 6:40 pm

Well, it certainly isn’t something on the level of Pam Anderson, so I don’t think anyone thinks it’s bad.

  26. 26 MC Mom Feb 2nd, 2009 at 12:29 pm

Nothing hypocritical here, although you’d think Lilly and her friends in Brazil could’ve thought up a better name brand. ‘R*Favela?’ I mean, c’mon…no one would buy ‘Slum-X’ underwear, right? Right?!?

  27. 27 Habanada Feb 2nd, 2009 at 1:21 pm

It’s not that it’s hypocritical; it’s just that it’s kind of weird. But if you want hypocrisy, it could be that she’s advocating buying lingerie when apparently she wears none herself :)

  28. 28 Jrod Feb 2nd, 2009 at 2:57 pm

Strawberry…she must predict the future with scary accuracy! I mean, she knew exactly what I was going to say!

  29. 29 Jrod Feb 2nd, 2009 at 2:58 pm

PS – I can see the Nips too Rocko…Not that I was looking or anything….

  30. 30 Kristine Feb 2nd, 2009 at 8:34 pm

Well I wasn’t looking until it got pointed out! lol While not hypocritical, it is contradictory in a way, which makes it amusing enough. Beside, anytime you’re talking about Lost it’s worth it ;)

  31. 31 rob Feb 22nd, 2009 at 7:10 pm

First the name R Favela means ” our favela” meaning we all start somewhere and have to work hard at attain our goals. Lilly did this project to support a company that was started with her 2 roomates. One is Brazilain- therefore the product is from brazil. Not made by children. Plus Brasilian make the best lingerie. Task Brasil is the group the money goes to support and is an amazing cause for the homeless kids in Brasil. 10% not being enough? It’s better than the 1% most people give. Or 0%. People should be proud that a star from america cares about something besides botox.

  32. 32 Simon Scowl Feb 22nd, 2009 at 8:07 pm

Who said it was made by children? Who said she’s doing something wrong?
