Apparently Joe Francis Is Expected to Pay His Taxes for Some Reason

joe_francisWe all know what a naughty boy the smut-sultan is, but this is ridiculous!

“Girls Gone Wild” founder Joe Francis was arrested Monday afternoon after failing to appear for a hearing earlier in the day in a federal tax-evasion case.

U.S. District Judge S. James Otero issued the warrant, which directed authorities to take Francis into custody and present him in court, according to Tom Mrozek, spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office in Los Angeles.

Officials with the U.S. Marshals Service said Francis was taken into custody when he reported to Otero’s courtroom Monday afternoon, about five hours after he was supposed to appear there.

Last year, a grand jury in Reno accused Francis of two counts of tax evasion. He has pleaded not guilty.

Wait a second. Can’t he just withdraw his nomination to serve in the Obama administration? It’ll be embarrassing, but hey, these things happen. Forgive and forget, right? We can’t afford to be partisan and divisive at this crucial time in our nation’s history, can we?

Oh, wait. Wrong scofflaw.

Obama will pardon him and appoint him to a cabinet position.

Joe Francis needs to learn that not paying taxes and missing your court hearings are only permitted for Democratic appointees.

  3. 3 Julie Feb 3rd, 2009 at 3:55 pm

Um, excuse ME? Democrats are the only ones who miss court hearings?? Have you heard of a little turd called Carl Rove, who has repeatedly ignored subpoena’s from the Senate? Really, get off of your high horse because both Democrats and Republicans abuse the law equally, only the Republicans think they are somehow “more” equal, which makes them above the law. Can’t wait for all of the Bushies to start heading to prison.

Joe Francis is a bigger waste of space than I thought!

  6. 6 Julie Feb 3rd, 2009 at 7:28 pm

Sorry Simon, the insults don’t work on me. You already drank the Bush Cool-Aid & are a lost cause. Just like calling people traitors for not agreeing with the Republicans. Who are the traitors now? Shouldn’t you be agreeing with every single thing that comes out of Obama’s mouth since, according to you neo-cons, to do otherwise is to betray your country. Don’t like it so much when your own tactics are used against you do you?

Sorry Simon, the insults don’t work on me.

    Clearly.

Don’t like it so much when your own tactics are used against you do you?

You seem upset. Maybe it would help if you take a deep breath and try to work out what you want to say before you click Submit.

Hey Julie, I have a shovel over here that you can use to get that sand out of your vagina.

  9. 9 Rocco Lore Feb 3rd, 2009 at 8:54 pm

Julie, you must be one of those Democrats who demands tax hikes, but doesn’t pay her taxes. Besides, you Democrats were the ones preaching ethics, but you’re the party of Blago, Rezko, Nifong, Daschle, Geithner, Kellifer, Kilpatrick, Conyers, Rangel, and Hastings. You liberal fascists were the ones who said people who don’t pay taxes were “unpatriotic.” Well, it shows that you liberals are the traitors and you should all be in jail!

  10. 10 Habanada Feb 3rd, 2009 at 11:15 pm

Funny how Bush only has “Cool-Aid” [sic.] only after conservatives start saying that voters are drinking the “Obama Kool Aid.”

And how after some clever conservative quipped, “A taxpayer voting for Obama is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders,” liberals swapped the slogan with their own (nonsensical) version with Obama’s name replaced with McCain’s.

Is there a reason you guys can only loot our catchphrases? Can’t you make up some of your own sometime?

  11. 11 Aleric Feb 4th, 2009 at 9:29 am

Weren’t these the same people that said to protest and ridicule the governement was patriotic?? Oh right, only when it is a Republican in the office.

Also someone needs to school Julie on the basis for the court case against Karl Rove, it wasn’t over taxes that is for sure, that was a pure partisan attempt to link Bush to a “Scandel” and it back fired.

At least the past administration can say that they never appointed people to cabinet postions with full knowledge of their criminal past.

Uhh Julie, I really want to respond to your comments but I fear logic would be a complete loss.

Daschle has already repaid ALL back taxes and interest, which is what the IRS does when it realizes there has been a deficiency. You are not hauled into court immediately – you get a nice letter in the mail from the IRS saying “You owe us $_________.__, pay immediately or face the consequences.” (not a direct quote)

Joe Francis certainly received one of those letters, and chose not to pay. He chose to hire a lawyer to try to get him out of paying. Then he failed to show up in court when ordered to do so. If he had just paid when the IRS notified him of the deficiency, he would never have been arrested.

And Daschle has withdrawn himself from nomination for HHS, while Joe Francis (correct me if I’m wrong here) is one of a group of people in the porn industry asking for federal bailout money.

    Apples, oranges.

Also, you just can’t blame Blagojevich on the Democrats. Illinois is a special case, one of the most corrupt states in the country (both Chicago politics and state politics). The former Republican governor of the state of Illinois is currently serving time in federal prison for corruption-related crimes. Illinois has a deeply corrupt system and both parties are in it up to their necks.

Obama is a politician above all things, and while I think it’s unlikely he’s done anything illegal (he just hasn’t been around that long; meteoric rise and all), he certainly comes from a corrupt political system and his own ascendance has been far more important to him than anything else. I don’t expect anything exceptional from him. I do think it’s funny he can’t seem to find a whole cabinet without two tax missreporting/evasion situations and a pay-to-play nominee withdrawal scandal.

“… can’t seem to find a whole cabinet without two tax missreporting/evasion situations…”

Actually there have been three; Tom Daschle, Timothy Geithner and Nancy Killefer. We won’t even talk about Bill Richardson – http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28493919/

  15. 15 MC Mom Feb 4th, 2009 at 12:44 pm

Wait, Anonymous, the *porn* industry is asking for federal bailout money?!? You’d think that if anything would be recession-proof…

  16. 16 Simon Scowl Feb 4th, 2009 at 12:59 pm

Daschle has already repaid ALL back taxes and interest, which is what the IRS does when it realizes there has been a deficiency.

    Then what’s the problem?

  17. 17 angry army wife Feb 4th, 2009 at 2:10 pm

MC Mom- Yes, it is true. Who would have thought porn would need a bailout but when Hef is laying off people, I guess even those who screw for money need to screw us for some more money.

  18. 18 Pastafarian Feb 4th, 2009 at 2:20 pm

I’m doing my part for the porn industry but there’s only so much at midgets with extension cords.com. Can’t these people be more creative? What am I a machine?

  19. 19 Minnow Feb 4th, 2009 at 4:55 pm

Don’t worry Pasta, 2blondesandatoaster.com just refreshed.

Go forth and stimulate the economy.

  21. 21 letinstar Feb 4th, 2009 at 11:56 pm

so tax breaks for the rich really means the rich pay no taxes, until busted…this applies to dems and repubs….

  22. 22 Les Paul Feb 5th, 2009 at 12:36 am

My guess is he was late because his watch went wild.

  23. 23 Beige Feb 5th, 2009 at 9:12 am

I’m sorry, but the idea of the porn industry circling the drain just made me laugh so hard I almost peed, and this isn’t even my chair. You know what this means, don’t you? The same people forgoing professional lawn care and household repairs in favor of DIY…now don’t dare share their camera phones with Aunt Myrna. Hee.

“Gracious. Who is that girl with the spatula?”

    “AIIIGGGHH! Give me that.”
