Worried about making ends meet in these tough economic times? There’s a simple solution: Join NY Governor David Paterson’s staff!
Gov. Paterson has secretly granted raises of as much as 46 percent to more than a dozen staffers at a time when he has asked 130,000 state workers to give up 3 percent pay hikes because of the state’s fiscal crisis, The Post has learned.
The startling pay hikes, costing about $250,000 annually, were granted after the governor’s “emergency” declaration in August of a looming fiscal crisis that required the state to cut spending and impose a “hard” hiring freeze.
One raise was approved as recently as last month — when Paterson claimed the budget deficit had reached an unprecedented $15.5 billion.
Sounds like Paterson’s been turning a bl… Er, he hasn’t implemented the proper oversi… um… On this issue he really lacks vis… Dang it.
Hey, why can’t I joke about it? SNL did.

Well at least he’s not fat, blond or Polish. Imagine the jokes we’d be subjected to then.
But c’mon the Governor is looking out for the state. Obviously he approved the raises to encourage spending by public employees. That’s good public spending isn’t it? And let’s not forget he had been planning a trip to Switzerland at that economic conference to convince them to hold the next one in New York City. But the mean ol’ media hounded him about the “looming fiscal crisis” and kept him from going so he can “focus on the budget”. Lame.
I have nothing to ad except that when I saw that skit when it first aired I just about pissed myself laughing. I am a terrible person.
Katy, You are not a terrible person. That skit was f-ing funny.
I’m gonna guess he’s blind?
So he’s hacking away at the budget like a blind woodsman? Is it ok to say that or am I in trouble with the thought police?
Since there was the Blago mention, it looks like there will be more fun on that front with Burris. Seems that Blago wanted something out of him after all, and he may have fibbed about it.
This is some of the funniest stuff SNL has done in a while. And even funnier is Paterson’s whining about them picking on him. Boo freaking hoo. Say what you want about Palin but at least she was able to take the jabs in stide and even come on the show to poke fun at herself (which was absolutely hilarious too).
Heh. “…Two-eyed smart-alecks.” I’m partially blind myself, and THAT is funny.
I gotta say I appreciate Deceiver weeding out the funny SNL stuff for me
I don’t have the stamina to wade through the stuff that isn’t funny to get to the stuff that is.
But don’t let SNL do your job for you, Deceiver! You guys have funnier stuff than they do on your best days
Heck, even on your mediocre days. Maybe not on your bad days. But I haven’t found bad Deceiver days yet, soo . . .
