Octogramps: Master of Understatement

octomessHuman clowncar Nadya Suleman strikes many people as — and I apologize for the technical jargon here — absolutely batcrap crazy. One of these people is her own father:

Ed Doud said in an interview taped Thursday for “The Oprah Winfrey Show” that the actions of his daughter, Nadya Suleman, and her doctor were “absolutely irresponsible.” But he also issued a plea for the public’s help…

A California-based nonprofit called Angels in Waiting has offered Suleman round-the-clock care and a place to stay with her 14 children. It would cost about $135,000 a month to provide the 12 caretakers necessary for the children, money that would have to come from public donations, founder Linda West Conforti said in Los Angeles…

In response to a question about whether he thinks his daughter is mentally stable, Doud said, “Now I’m no psychiatrist, but I question her mental situation.”

I just checked your credentials, Ed, and you do indeed have two eyes and two ears. You are hereby qualified to state the obvious.

Poor guy. His Werther’s Original bill alone is going to be ridiculous. But there’s good news! Dr. Octomess just talked to Dr. Phil. Between that guy and Oprah, you know they’ll straighten this whole deal right out. Just in case, Springer and Judge Judy are waiting in the wings.

This is just getting more and more ridiculous. Next this crazy psycho will slap a gag order on her dad. He is just as guilty as he never kicked her out of the house and paid her bills when she could not. Instead of her being a grateful daughter, she used her money on other things, like in vitro, instead of helping her mom pay for the house she and her 6 kids were living in. I guess everyone deserves McDonald’s and manicures, except maybe those who are selfish.

  2. 2 Hurricane Feb 20th, 2009 at 3:20 pm

    WTF? Who needs 12 caretakers??????

How about 2 and couple rolls of duct tape?

At least I know what charity NOT to donate to.

  3. 3 Queen Bee Feb 20th, 2009 at 3:51 pm

I believe it all depends upon the age. In my state (Washington, not denial like this beyotch), infants need 1 caregiver per 2 children. So, and my math sucks, that would be 4 just for the infants and it sounds like they might need a rotating cast for 3 shifts, which would be the 12 caregivers.
    This is an interesting site:

It seems a lot of people are trying to get the kids into CPS custody. Cool.

Your grandparents put out the dish of butter candies too? Awesome!

  5. 5 Elle Feb 20th, 2009 at 4:05 pm

I posted in another thread about the needed adult/child ratio for adult classrooms and asked how long it would be before she was looking for donated live-in nannies.

$135,000 a MONTH for those caretakers? How many annual salaries is that? (ok a quick calculation shows its 40,500 salaries at $40,000/year) There’s no way that they can get that much in public donations.

FWIW the recommended ratio for infants is 1:2. For under six (her previous kids) it’s 1:5. Given that all the newborns are NICU babies and three of her older kids are autistic, 12 is probably about the minimum number of caretakers needed.

Once you start crunching numbers the situation looks increasingly grim. (I still want to know why the people who lent her student loans haven’t pursued fraud charges)

  6. 6 Annie Feb 20th, 2009 at 4:28 pm

First off, knowing the health issues that have been attributed to McDonald’s, wtf is she doing giving her children that? Didn’t she go on and on about how her job is her kids, her life, is her kids?

For the sake of all good things, this woman needs to be removed from the media.

I was actually curious about that too Elle, student loans are meant to go towards your studies, not injecting yourself with crap.

I also want to know why a negligence lawsuit hasn’t been filed.

If people can sue McDonald’s for making hot coffee, well, hot. Then this woman should be able to get her just desserts in regards to the burden she’s causing on the taxpayers and on my eyesight.

  7. 7 bigmama Feb 20th, 2009 at 4:49 pm

She should have child endangerment charges placed against her. Those babies are here and sick because of her. How many disabilities are they going to have because she had to be pregnant again? And if I were her parents, I would take her to court to pay for everything.

Not you the person that sued.

  12. 12 Chronic Malanga Feb 21st, 2009 at 6:14 am

That asinine McDonald’s law suit is not something I will allow myself to discuss too much anymore because it just hacks me off, and opened the door to a whole lot of frivolous lawsuits since.

As for Octogramps… keen sense of the obvious. The more I hear, the sicker it all gets. She is an entitled and irresponsible, selfish, and crazy jackass.

  13. 13 D--- Feb 21st, 2009 at 11:15 am

Chronic Malanga – I hate to break it to you but the vast majority of the people that got government assistance I met when I was homeless in the ghetto’s of Southern California (mainly Oxnard) were entitled, irresponsible and selfish

  14. 14 Josie Feb 21st, 2009 at 12:16 pm

In her case I frankly wonder what the parents could honestly have done. The crazy bitch has sworn up and down how terrible her childhood has been, but they still try to stand by her. I’m willing to bet they weren’t super spoil-riffic, maybe just a little bit too much for a bonafide SOCIOPATH.

And make no mistake, it’s totally what she is. She believes the laws of society and even nature do not apply to her. She’s off her damn nut, and California is paying.

… my comments are always so angry. I swear, I am a nice and cheerful person.

  15. 15 Beige Feb 21st, 2009 at 1:26 pm

Here in SW Georgia, where I live, there’s a constant push to “help” the poor. Never mind that the poor around here are the laziest, most hateful, racist and arrogant people in America. Never mind that “helping” them is a lot like peeing into a hurricane; the “help” is pounced upon, with no thanks forthcoming, with no attempt at helping THEMSELVES out of their situation–just a vociferous, entitled demand for more, always more. This sorry bitch would fit in fine here.

“There’s no way that they can get that much in public donations.”

Depending on the charity it’s not necessary that it’s all public donations. Even a 501(c)(3) can be a public or private foundation (with one main philanthropist providing a majority of the funds, for example). It’s a quite convoluted process to figure out where the money comes from and what that qualifies your charity as, I found out when I tried to start one. I realize the article states public donations but I think it could be underinformed journalism.

Did anyone catch the very end of the MSNBC article? Looks like they’re getting a little tired of her too.

Regarding Octomom and Dr. Phil, we all know there are two main faces of Dr. Phil (neither one helpful of course but that’s beside the point here). There’s the Dr. Phil that is the kind giving spirit, who is basically the rich uncle. There’s also the Dr. Phil that takes a great deal of personal pleasure in delivering an ego smackdown and sending the guest in question fleeing as a public pariah. We can only hope for the latter here.

Simon, “Octogramps” has the most beautiful ring to it.

  17. 17 QB Feb 21st, 2009 at 6:15 pm

Din’t octomom said that she could take care of all of her kids , she was going to have the time to hug them all when they need it and that she was going to be able to afford to have all those kids when she finish college and gets a job has a theraphist.

  18. 18 Pinandpuller Feb 22nd, 2009 at 4:57 am

I know what she’s taking her kids trick or treating as this year-Tribbles.

  19. 19 Chronic Malanga Feb 22nd, 2009 at 6:29 am

    Scary, D– but not surprising.

You know what really bothers me? My uncle has worked his entire life, is a VietNam vet, and has always provided for his family without any outside help. My aunt has never had to work for a day out of thirty some years they’ve been married. Now, though, because of all this economic f**kery, he is struggling, and doesn’t qualify for anything other than a pittance in unemployment, and cannot afford to retire. Yet people like Octomom who blatantly abuse the system, aren’t even being punished for that abuse. Instead of having the rug yanked out from under her smug ass, she gets media attention and deals with every magazine in publication. If I met this woman in person, I would punch her in the mouth.

  20. 20 Mr. Sleepyhead Feb 22nd, 2009 at 1:45 pm

To hell with public donations to take care of all of her off spring. I recommend we commercialize her children. It’s done as a form of television entertainment on The Learning Channel (and I’ve learned a lot watching some of this dribble). Your have “John and Kate 8″ and “18 and Counting,” so why not have “Octomom and 16?” Gerber, Pampers and Johnson & Johnson can be sponsors, along with the manufacturer of fertilzation stimulus pharmaceutical (Pregomatic) and bingo, it’s a Monday night hit with all of the other mentally confused individuals who use their uterus as a clown car. Heck, I bet the truck manufacturer Peterbuilt would build her a custom truck to haul all of her offspring around the country as she does talks to church groups and folks in nursing homes while asking for donations.

This woman is clearly psycho but very calculating in her desire to be a media scarlet.

  21. 21 Katy Feb 22nd, 2009 at 3:30 pm

Punch her in the vagina instead, as hard as you can. Stop her before she kills.

There’s a gentleman named Denis Beaudouin, who states he was a sperm donor for Octomom.

He is either black or half black and half caucasian. I will leave it to other commenters to determine whehter Denis resembles Octomom’s kids.

There is poor & there is lazy. I am compassionate to the poor because these are the people who are generally working but not making enough to get by. Many of them are single mothers & fathers who receive no support and have few options.

This “thing” is just lazy. She thinks that food stamps are just “programs” for the people who need them, not welfare. Obviously her education hasn’t helped her because she obviously doesn’t know the meaning of welfare. It is when the rest of us (the government who puts the money in the “programs”) pays for you to live a great life while having $100 manicures every week and YOU NEVER HAVE TO PAY IT BACK – yipee!! She is also using the student loan “program” as her own personal welfare account to spend on plastic surgery & IVF, not on an education. The education she currently has (a BS – ha ha – in psychology) hasn’t helped her reasoning & no one would look to her to help with their mental health issues with so many of her own.

I can’t afford a manicure so should I also start receiving food stamps & help from the community? I don’t like doing housework, so maybe I can pop out a baby & have the neighborhood take care of it for me while I go shopping & buy Starbucks. I am obviously being deprived & by using her “logic”, I am entitled to any money out there — no matter what the original purpose — to do with as I please.

  25. 25 Nati Feb 23rd, 2009 at 11:42 pm

    Simon says “absolutely batcrap crazy”

Like a fox. She might be unstable allright, and she perfectly fits the description of a sociopath, but she is not crazy. She knows what she’s doing. The reason she doesn’t appear to be concerned in any way for the future of her numerous children or that of her own, is because she’s not. She knows that there is an abundance of compassionate suckers in this country who will not let “the single mother with 14 children” strave. Like the above-mentioned charity. And that’s what she’s counting on. She knows that most ppl simply wouldn’t have the heart to say “F that b, she dug her own grave, let her lie in it”. Because the children are involved…THE CHILDREN! Our country’s No.1 obsession. Not to sound cruel or anyth, but I wouldn’t feel sorry for her (or inclined to help out in any way) even if she had all those kids naturally. You know what most ppl do when they can’t afford to have kids? They don’t have them.

  26. 26 Chronic Malanga Feb 24th, 2009 at 1:51 pm

Well stated, Nati. I couldn’t agree more. You breed ‘em, you feed ‘em.
