A few days ago, Ed Doud — aka the man who spawned Nadya Suleman, who in turn spawned in record numbers to become Octomom — said he didn’t trust the doctors who enabled his daughter to have a billion babies.
Turns out he doesn’t trust the media either. Except Oprah. Everyone trusts Oprah.
Nadya Suleman’s father told Oprah Winfrey on her talk show that his daughter was under duress before giving an interview to NBC and should have been given time to recover from giving birth to octuplets.
“They took her out of the hospital by midnight to a secret location,” Suleman’s father Ed Doud told Winfrey on the show that aired Tuesday. “They did not even give her a chance to rest, to sleep, where she’s still under medication and not feeling well.
“They bombard her with all these cameras,” Doud said. “I am not saying that they kidnapped her. What I am saying is that it absolutely should have given her a little time until she heals at least and not be under so much medication.”
To which I say: What the eff ever. You know Nadya had the whole media tour planned from the first trimester. In fact, if anything, she’s miffed he got to go on Oprah and she didn’t, as she admits in this revealing interview with Us Weekly:
Us: I saw your dad gave an interview to Oprah. Why didn’t you?
S: I really wish he didn’t. I would have liked to go on Oprah — since her audience is mainly female, I think it would have heightened things so much more. You know, it would have been way more emotional.
The woman clearly mistakes herself for a celebrity. I mean, look at the photo here — the fresh pedicure, the requisite Starbucks cup, and she’s already nailed the “no pictures please” arm raise that doesn’t actually cover her face. Put a pair of oversize sunglasses on her and she’s Britney Spears.

Notice that Octomom is not only playing the harrassed starlet in that picture as described, but her arm is barely hiding the s**teating grin on her face. She’s loving every minute of this.
If Octogramps is so bothered by the exploitative media, why is he even talking to Oprah about it? Seems to me that the best way to avoid media attention is to keep one’s trap shut, even if Saint Oprah is the one asking the questions.
As for his poor, exploited daughter, if she could have televised the birth of her litter, she would have. Negative publicity is better than no publicity and she is going to take advantage of every opportunity she can to stay in the spotlight.
Her quote about Oprah cracks me up too. I think Oprah’s studio audience would have ripped her apart if given half the chance and they would have had to conduct the interview in a steel cage.

I finally watched that octomom vs. octograndma video…god damn, I hate this woman now! (octomom, that is). What a selfish, hateful, inconsiderate, ungrateful, evil bitch! How dare she talk that way to her mother – the woman whom she’s been burdening with her 6 children for the last 7 (?) yrs, and whom she’d put through the bankruptcy. If I had talked to my Mom like that (much less caused her to loose pretty much everything she owned in order to raise and support my countless children I had no business having in the first place), she’d bitch slap me senseless. And deservedly so. As for the octomom being exploited by the media, so far it looks like it’s the other way around. Those poor children…in a perfect world we’d all be able to choose our parents.

Saw part of her interview on “Dr. Phil” while on break yesterday. She’s even more irritating when you hear her speaking. This chick has NO sense of reality. It doesn’t register with her just how much time and money it takes to raise even one kid, much less an army of 14. If it was me, I’d feel awful having to burden my parents with even one baby. I’d feel awful if I’d burned away my folks’ retirement $ and left them destitute.
Octomom is in her own universe of me, me, me. Those kids are in trouble.

This is probably a stupid question/comment, so please don’t pelt me with anything, BUT…
I thought there was this like, build up of her “fame”? I thought she had the children and then the local news channels caught on and then, slowly, more news shows and magazines got a hold of the story, leading to the NBC interview? Also, if someone had had eight kids at once, it seems unlikely that doctors or nurses would let them go anywhere before their drugs had even worn off…right? And in my experience, even a ten minute interview can take an hour or so if you want it to look good…wasn’t she made up and everything? Wouldn’t people be looking for her?

You know, I remember when my daughter was born, I didn’t let her out of my sight for more than a few minutes. I felt horrendously guilty taking a shower. My husband kicked me out of the house to get a massage and I felt horrible leaving, even with her dad taking care of her. I realize I only have one kid and I realize if you have 14, your perspective changes but, you know, whatever.
I only caught a clip of the Dr. Phil interview and I was appalled but not surprised. He asked her about her kids having a job of filling up her void, how it isn’t their job. She completely evaded the question, throwing it out how people don’t blame the married couples with 12 children. She then changed the question to, “I won’t have my older kids raising my younger children.” Impressive.
Actually, Tammie, if you’re referring to her father’s claim that she was shanghaied by NBC into an interview, you make some good points. Trust me: NONE of this situation, from the between-the-breasts-sperm-holding to the no-photos-just-kidding, is unplanned or spontaneous for this horrible thing. She DID the entire thing to get famous, to get attention. And when these last 8 grow a bit and lose some cute points, she’ll do it again, or at least she will try.

So, this company is offering to donate $500 worth of clothing to her kids. I have an idea. How about they donate clothes to a clothing bank and she can go to a clothing bank like every other person who needs help getting clothing for their children.
