DECEIVER MADNESS Round 1: Windsor vs. Windbag

politicos-headera4-massa-charles

Can we all have a pity party for U.S. Congressman Eric Massa? Mostly because you’ve probably forgotten the New York Democrat by now.

deceivermadnesslogo091But hey! In 1986, nobody knew anything about the 14th-seeded Cleveland State Vikings basketball team, and they knocked off Indiana and St. Joe’s that year before losing to David Robinson’s Navy squad by a single point. Will Mr. Massa be this tourney’’s “Mouse McFadden”? It’s probabaly going to depend on how much you love alternative-fuel vehicles and SUVs.

Massa famously drove a hydrogen fuel-cell car to Washington to be sworn in. Sort of. The publicity stunt was foiled when it emerged that he had to switch cars halfway to DC when the first one reached its maximum driving range. And both cars ended up getting towed back home by a monster SUV because there wasn’t anywhere along the route to fill-er-up with “H.”

I almost hate to tell you all of that about Massa, because he’s squaring off against England’s über-hypocrite Prince Charles. Which reminds me of a little verse that Simon Scowl wrote:

Carbon footprint
Big as Wales
;
When it comes to “green”
He always fails.

This poll — and today’s seven other Round 1 matchups — will be open for 24 hours. Updated Brackets will be posted tomorrow.

Deceiver Madness '09 Round 1 (Politicos bracket): Pick the bigger hypocrite

  • Prince Charles (3) (56%)
  • Eric Massa (14) (44%)

Massa all the way. At least you can excuse the royal family for idiocy being that they are so inbred.

  2. 2 Toubrouk Mar 9th, 2009 at 10:22 am

Prince Charles support quack cures and phony medicine. This might allow him to register a body-count. This is worst that a carbon footprint so he get my vote.

  3. 3 Nivek Mar 9th, 2009 at 10:40 am

Inbred has an endless supply of hypocrisy (and on a larger scale) than some lamo congresssman.

  4. 4 Carlo Mar 9th, 2009 at 10:40 am

Thanks for the Mouse McFadden recall. But I have to go with Chuck for pure scale.

  5. 5 Saro Mar 9th, 2009 at 10:48 am

I think Massa should have had to push that car the rest of the way to Washington. Now that’s dedication to green politics!

  6. 6 Les Paul Mar 9th, 2009 at 10:58 am

    The Prince of Wales.

BTW, Simon’s verse should be sung to the tune of Love Shack.

  7. 7 Swede0319 Mar 9th, 2009 at 10:58 am

Anybody who can kiss Camila Parker Boles and keep their food down, gets my vote.

  8. 8 Pastafarian Mar 9th, 2009 at 11:24 am

What?! Massa is in the lead? Now I KNOW you’re all high. Massa’s little stunt in no way compares to ol’ horse face’s scoldings on eco-crap while cruising the seven seas on a 200 foot yacht. The “seven seas”? AAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH That’s right I’m a pirate now. Avast you land lubbers, etc.

  9. 9 Beige Mar 9th, 2009 at 11:38 am

Chronic Malanga is reading my mind today, or vice versa.

  10. 10 Matt Mar 9th, 2009 at 11:47 am

“Anybody who can kiss Camila Parker Boles and keep their food down, gets my vote.” Haha, hear hear. But I think that’d be a good reason NOT to vote for Prince Charles. Ya know, to spare him from more damage.

But, I voted for Prince Charles anyway. Massa’s mishap seems harmless.

  11. 11 MrsCman Mar 9th, 2009 at 11:49 am

Prince Charles. I will never ever ever forget or forgive him for trying to use tampons in his dirty talk to Camila. There is not enough bleach in this world to scrub that image from my head.

  12. 12 angry army wife Mar 9th, 2009 at 11:49 am

Massa just cause it is the same “do as I say, not as I do” mentality. Prince Charles was an idiot to cheat on Diana and to tell us how to live, but Massa is one of our own and is a bigger douchebag to me. He can cause us more harm than the Prince.

  13. 13 Ducky Mar 9th, 2009 at 11:52 am

I flipped a coin and landed on Massa.

  14. 14 Beige Mar 9th, 2009 at 11:58 am

Swede, that made me cackle like Witch Hazel. HAH!

  15. 15 Scott F. Mar 9th, 2009 at 11:59 am

    Massa, hands down.

When you POS alternative fuel car has to be towed home by an SUV getting less than 10 miles a gallon… FAIL.

  16. 16 miaox Mar 9th, 2009 at 12:01 pm

Massa. Royalty should never be expected to behave like the commoners! Prince Charles always looks pretty befuddled anyway…

  17. 17 jenn Mar 9th, 2009 at 12:02 pm

Charles wins this round in my book

  18. 18 PJ Mar 9th, 2009 at 12:20 pm

Massa, cos this fool was elected.

  19. 19 Dan Mar 9th, 2009 at 12:39 pm

as stated above, my vote was decided since Massa was elected. When you’re born into position you don’t need to do silly things like learn and be consistent. There’s much more room for hypocrisy when your job depends upon how well you pull it off.

  20. 20 Runolfr Mar 9th, 2009 at 12:40 pm

Prince Charles has been an idiot for so long (mostly by promoting “alternative medicine”) that I can’t help voting for him.

  21. 21 Lisa Mar 9th, 2009 at 12:43 pm

Anyone who has lives an opulent and extravagent lifestyle that is paid for by tax payers, then has the nerve to tell those people they are living the wrong way wins hands down.

Does anyone object to a monarchy over here? I am starting to think maybe he is not as stupid as I originally thought.

  22. 22 Fortunate Son Mar 9th, 2009 at 1:06 pm

In 1993 a magazine published the transcript of a telephone conversation between Prince Charles, heir to the British crown, and his lover in which the couple made joking references to tampons in an erotic context. The story quickly spread around the world and became a source of embarrassment for Charles and the Royal family.

  23. 23 thatgengirl Mar 9th, 2009 at 1:13 pm

Massa for making a grand display of what a big deceiver he is. Who really listens to Prince Charles anyway?

  24. 24 Chronic Malanga Mar 9th, 2009 at 1:21 pm

Great minds, Beige. Great minds. ;)

  25. 25 X Mar 9th, 2009 at 1:34 pm

Massa… The Prince at least has an excuse (in-breeding)

  26. 26 Constance Mar 9th, 2009 at 1:42 pm

I’m with thegengirl… who listens that old hag-loving man anyhow?

Massa had my vote when I watched and read about the “Arrival” hoax he had going. I LOL’d loudly at the doctor’s office to many stares.

  27. 27 Herandar Mar 9th, 2009 at 1:53 pm

Royalty does live in this world. It’s not hypocrisy, it’s a genetic defect.

  28. 28 randomstalker Mar 9th, 2009 at 2:11 pm

I vote for the Prince. Me and my mission to challenge Monarchy by using the democratic votey-votey to… Uh, I lost my train of thought.

I can’t really remember what it was the Prince did. But you guys named him an uber-hypocrite, so… That’s waaay worse than “just” a hypocrite, on my book.

  29. 29 Troy Mar 9th, 2009 at 2:48 pm

I say Chuckles since most of our politicians are just plain stupid

  30. 30 Cynth Mar 9th, 2009 at 3:03 pm

I had to go with Massa. Poor bonnie Prince C is just ignorant, as most of the royal family is. They can’t help it, anyone who has never had to work a day in their life can’t be expected to be able to relate to real world issues. Massa though, is a shining example of stupidity and hypocrisy.

  31. 31 G Mar 9th, 2009 at 3:13 pm

Charles. Because he pollutes more, but it was a close one.

  32. 32 k80 Mar 9th, 2009 at 4:01 pm

    Prince Charles, hands down.

  33. 33 Koka Mar 9th, 2009 at 4:11 pm

HRH kinda has an excuse….primogeniture tends to lead to a decrease in intelligience due to the inbreeding genetic probs. Massa is just an elected idiot unless he is the product of the joining of 2 first cousins.

  34. 34 Ani Mar 9th, 2009 at 4:40 pm

I voted Prince Charles because taking a private jet to express fear that we only have a few months before we all boil up and die really defeats the purpose. Has he not heard of video conferencing? That’d be much safer than flying privately. While I understand the security concerns, it really defeats the purpose.

    Massa was just plain stupid.

  35. 35 Lisa Mar 9th, 2009 at 5:04 pm

Security Concerns??? The man does not do anything. He doesn’t run a country. He doesn’t have a job. He does not play a pivotal role in any industry. There is another heir and a spare and his own country thinks he is a bit of a wanker.

  36. 36 Minnow Mar 9th, 2009 at 5:07 pm

I voted for the Royal Chuck.

Because I love the incongruity of voting for hereditary monarchy. Wee! That was fun.

  37. 37 kbug61 Mar 9th, 2009 at 5:24 pm

Had to go with the Prince on this one. The monarchy is a parasite with no apparent purpose in life other than to demand its subjects pay obeisance to it.

  38. 38 Discordia Mar 9th, 2009 at 5:34 pm

Massa made one political blunder; Prince Charles IS one political blunder … just like his Dad.

  39. 39 D---- Mar 9th, 2009 at 5:59 pm

Prince Charles latest stunt I think put him over the top with this one

  40. 40 ganzagwenie Mar 9th, 2009 at 6:56 pm

HEY! unfair! you can’t post articles about Prince Charles while voting is still active! It seems like it’d skew the results… I voted for him anyway, but still.

  41. 41 luscious_t Mar 9th, 2009 at 7:08 pm

    royalty wins :)

  42. 42 Kristine Mar 9th, 2009 at 7:16 pm

Haha, I agree with Minnow… voting for royalty is fun! I also can’t stand the good prince, so dragging his name through the mud is fun.

  43. 43 Bucky Katt Mar 9th, 2009 at 7:51 pm

I’ll take Charles (Nelson Reilly) for the block.

  44. 44 Nick Mar 9th, 2009 at 7:53 pm

Charles. The fact that he is Royalty does it for me.

  45. 45 Marc Mar 9th, 2009 at 8:59 pm

Do not mistake Massas’ ineptitude and stupidity for complete, in your face, I’m-better-than-you-because-my-Daddy-screwed-the-Queen-and-it-took royal hypocrisy on constant parade around the royal grounds as Chucky’s way of life…

  46. 46 Clownfish Mar 9th, 2009 at 10:30 pm

Chuck wins – sorry, make that FAILS – on so many levels: Not only is he an inbred leeching on the public purse, he’s also an uber-Baby Boomer tosser, pushing dodgy quack “complementary” medicine, flaky religion and environmental hypocrisy.

That pretty much presses all my buttons.

  47. 47 milk 'em Mar 9th, 2009 at 10:56 pm

Massa, because, well…I nominated him. Tough matchup though.

  48. 48 That person Mar 9th, 2009 at 11:17 pm

My reasoning’s the same as for voting for Pamela Anderson. I’m just hoping His Royalness will remember li’l ole me, and reward the people who put him where he is, namely by marrying me into a title and enough money to travel and not have to deal with him.
Here’s looking at you, Prince. ;)

  49. 49 Christine Mar 10th, 2009 at 12:06 am

    Massa because he’s ours.

  50. 50 Rocko Mar 10th, 2009 at 12:12 am

It’s not that I voted for Prince Charles. I voted against Eric Massa much like I hope his constituents will.

  51. 51 Nati Mar 10th, 2009 at 12:22 am
  52. 52 k Mar 10th, 2009 at 12:34 am

Darn! I missed out on this one. I would have voted for Massa. That whole hydrogen car thing put it over the edge for me.

  53. 53 k Mar 10th, 2009 at 12:35 am

No wait, I didn’t miss out! I swear the page showed the poll first, then after I submitted a comment it showed the choices. Honest!

  54. 54 k Mar 10th, 2009 at 12:36 am

No wait, I didn’t miss out! I swear the page showed the poll first, then after I submitted a comment it showed the choices. Honest!

(now my comment isn’t showing even to be moderated? are the poll elves mad at me???)

  55. 55 Jennie Mar 10th, 2009 at 9:27 am

Massa is intentionally evil, and Windsor is just so dumb that no one is surprised. Massa.
