DECEIVER MADNESS Round 1: Saudi King vs. Climate King

politicos-headerc3-gore-abdullah

Our very first post here at Deceiver was titled “Let’s Start With an Easy One: Al Gore.” And King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia was the very first Deceiver Madness poll winner (defeating New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg in the play-in game).

But there can be only one.

deceivermadnesslogo091Al Gore, as hypocrite-hunters everywhere know, is the planet-pimping pariah who failed to get his house in order (energy-wise), and even Tom Brokaw called him out on it.

Gore left a fleet of limos running with the AC on while he popped inside to give one of his “save the earth” speeches. He got busted for using footage from The Day After Tomorrow in his (pardon the term) documentary, and making people think it was the real thing.

Most importantly, he got nailed for stoking global warming panic to fatten his own wallet. Al Gore is a Deceiver Nonpareil.

King Abdullah will have to step up his game to have any sort of shot in this first-round match. But let’s give him credit, at least for wanton hubris. It takes a pair of monster Saudi cajones to call for an “interfaith dialogue” while your country is sentencing 75-year-old women to beatings for daring to associate with men who are not her deceased husband. Like her nephew. Who was bringing her some loaves of bread. (Yeah, I bet Israel will be just full of multi-cultural understanding for this clown…)

This poll — and today’s seven other Round 1 matchups — will be open for 24 hours. Updated Brackets will be posted tomorrow.

Deceiver Madness '09 Round 1 (Politicos bracket): Pick the bigger hypocrite

  • Al Gore (1) (78%)
  • King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia (16) (22%)

I know I’m going against the grain here, voting for King Ab. Al Gore is nuts, but at least he’s not sentencing innocent women to death.

  2. 2 Chronic Malanga Mar 11th, 2009 at 9:12 am

Tough choice, but Al Gore and his smarmy, smug, preachy face get my vote.

  3. 3 Toubrouk Mar 11th, 2009 at 9:24 am

The Saudi king is a clear douche when he proposes interfaith dialogue. For him dialoguing Islam is like dropping a goldfish in a tank of starving piranas; you got a perfect debate when one side is dead.

Al Gore got the worst of me. Unlike the “Sand Box” (Can I say Little Box) King, Al Gore got the ear of the international community. He’s clearly pushing his agenda while, not only disregarding it, but making a profit out of him. Humanitarian? No. Used Car Salesman? You bet.

  4. 4 Nivek Mar 11th, 2009 at 9:34 am

    ManBearPig!

  5. 5 luscious_t Mar 11th, 2009 at 9:34 am

OK, trith is, the king should get every vote – but what can ya do? Gore gets it for being more “fun” to point and laugh at.

  6. 6 Seth Mar 11th, 2009 at 9:41 am

Somehow, Al has come to stand for so much of the modern “Do as I tell you, not as I do.”

  7. 7 MrsCman Mar 11th, 2009 at 9:52 am

People take Al Gore at his word which is dangerous. I don’t believe anyone really believes a thing the King says.

  8. 8 Ducky Mar 11th, 2009 at 10:14 am

I flipped a coin on this one and Al Gore got my vote.

  9. 9 PJ Mar 11th, 2009 at 10:38 am

    I love Al.

    King Abwhatshisface gets my vote.

  10. 10 D---- Mar 11th, 2009 at 10:50 am

Al Gore for trying to scare the world into giving him more money

  11. 11 Pastafarian Mar 11th, 2009 at 10:55 am

    AL!! I’m super serial.

  12. 12 Saro Mar 11th, 2009 at 11:11 am

Al, because it scares me when people care about what he says.

  13. 13 Swede0319 Mar 11th, 2009 at 11:15 am

Al, because if I ever do see him, I will kick him in the nuts (if I can find them that is) and while I’m at it, slap Tipper’s plastic face because of the whole “Parents for Responsible Music” thing.

  14. 14 Minnow Mar 11th, 2009 at 11:15 am

You know guys, Albert already has lawyers standing by in Florida, ready to demand a recount if he looses this round…

  15. 15 kp Mar 11th, 2009 at 11:23 am

The way some of the middle eastern countries treat their women is disgusting and tragic, but I cant say that its hypocritical.

However Al Gore won the NOBEL PRIZE with his hot air and skewed lies, somehow beating a woman who helped Jewish infants in the ghettos during the holocaust. He needs an award he’ll deserve! Al Gore for the Win!

  16. 16 Habanada Mar 11th, 2009 at 11:38 am

Sure was fun to vote for Al Gore for a change!

  17. 17 Carlo Mar 11th, 2009 at 11:48 am

I’m hoping against hope for the upset. If you want to judge on danger, I think King Ab wins over ManBearPig for people he can directly kill.

  18. 18 Queen Bee Mar 11th, 2009 at 12:19 pm

Gore because these are all things he is personally responsible for. He has the money to upgrade his house and, as far as I know, still has not chosen to make these green upgrades.

  19. 19 Lisa Mar 11th, 2009 at 12:35 pm

You have to vote for Al. Remember he created the internet? Where would Deceiver be without him?

  20. 20 California Dave Mar 11th, 2009 at 1:01 pm

    His Goreness. No contest here.

  21. 21 bigmama Mar 11th, 2009 at 1:05 pm

The King because of the old lady beating and the fact that he and the rest of OPEC has the world by the balls.

  22. 22 angry army wife Mar 11th, 2009 at 1:06 pm

Gore all the way. The King is a bad person but that tends to be the culture over in that area. Gore reeks of hypocracy and deceipt. Try riding a bike every now and then Al!

  23. 23 Anna Mar 11th, 2009 at 1:18 pm

Is there really a competition here?

  24. 24 jenn Mar 11th, 2009 at 1:46 pm

    Al Gore – no contest

  25. 25 ΤΟΧOTIS Mar 11th, 2009 at 2:02 pm

GORE of course, he is the hypocricy in person. It is not only his House or his car… He makes businnes with climate and airpollution, he is a professional liar about climate and makes money by playing with CO2… (by selling pure air…) He won a Nobel prize, but I would give him an Oscar for playing so good his role…

  26. 26 Nick Mar 11th, 2009 at 2:21 pm

Al Gore. Abdullah would be a hypocrite if anyone actually took his words seriously.

  27. 27 Poobah Mar 11th, 2009 at 2:45 pm

    Big Al- easy.

  28. 28 Hjay Mar 11th, 2009 at 3:14 pm

This was too easy; Mr. Gore ought to win for sure.

  29. 29 Marc Mar 11th, 2009 at 3:37 pm

Remember, you cant spell asshole without AL…He is a hypocrite extraordinaire! The sheik is really just an Arab being an Arab…

  30. 30 k Mar 11th, 2009 at 3:53 pm

Algore, but it doesn’t matter, because by the time the votes are tallied WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE FROM GLOBAL WARMING!

  31. 31 angry army wife Mar 11th, 2009 at 4:25 pm

Didn’t he receive an award for his Global Warming crappy movie?

  32. 32 Beige Mar 11th, 2009 at 4:53 pm

Al Gore, now and forever. Or until we’re all eaten alive, screaming, by the sun itself. FOR OUR SINS.

  33. 33 Koka Mar 11th, 2009 at 5:53 pm

Gore……………..how’s about, when this is all said and done, for the prize he will win that ya’ll send him on a one way trip to Pluto?

EVERYBODY in the state of TN (where I live) can tell you what a ginormous hypocrite he is. He couldn’t even carry his home state the year he ran for Prez.

  34. 34 Scott F. Mar 11th, 2009 at 6:10 pm

Manbearpig without hesitation. As long as that man is alive, I advise everyone to rip out the emission regulating machinery on their car as a sign of protest.

  35. 35 X Mar 11th, 2009 at 6:25 pm

Gore cuz he invented the internet.

  36. 36 Kristine Mar 11th, 2009 at 6:59 pm

Man, seriously wanted to vote against the grain here again… but I just couldn’t click the other button, so I went for the man with a room temperature IQ.

  37. 37 Rocko Mar 11th, 2009 at 7:37 pm

Simply put, Al Gore needs to make it deeper into the tournament.

  38. 38 Christine Mar 11th, 2009 at 7:44 pm

Sorry, Abdullah. I’m voting for Al this time.

  39. 39 RadioFreePeru Mar 11th, 2009 at 8:01 pm

    Not even close!!!
Any kingy that’s got George Soros POd at him can’t be all bad. And Kingy Abby (even during numerous visits to the US as prince) never got mixed up with the champion hypocrite of them all, the NWO’s Clueless Jimmy Carter (he the broker of over 432 separate (and worthless) Mid-East Peace accords, harbinger of the US-led coup against Chavez and founder of the “Transparency International” franchise system, which has sold franchises to arms dealers and other promoters of terrorism around the globe.
The Gory one takes this round easily.

  40. 40 BillC Mar 11th, 2009 at 8:24 pm

Al Gore is a deceitful blowhard.

  41. 41 Matt Mar 11th, 2009 at 9:16 pm

I voted for the ultimate global warming sloganeer, Al Gore.

  42. 42 Reverend Rory Mar 11th, 2009 at 9:41 pm

All Hail Al Gore, Inventor of the Environment, Internet, and First Emperor of the Moon!!!!! Tremble before his smug wrath!

  43. 43 That person Mar 11th, 2009 at 10:26 pm

I was too saddened by King Abdullah to vote for him.
I went with Al so we could see more South Park jokes! Why isn’t anyone taking me serially?!?! Guys! I’m so serial!!

  44. 44 randomstalker Mar 11th, 2009 at 11:29 pm

    And my vote goes toooooo…

    AL GORE!!!

Why? Because he’s making sure that we all die from Global Warming! Just as he’s predicting! So step up for your prize, Al!

  45. 45 Nati Mar 12th, 2009 at 12:46 am

Gore! I always wanted to vote for Gore. I hate what he’s turned into, but back in 2000 I thought he was alright and wanted to vote for him, but wasn’t of voting age. So I’m voting for him now. Dreams DO come true! ( 9 yrs later) Hell, this time he might even win.

  46. 46 And Atlas Shrugs Yet Again Mar 12th, 2009 at 1:53 am

Al Gore, easily. His pushing the global warming lie stands to do more harm to millions and millions of people than perhaps anything out there before. Abdullah can be given the benefit of the doubt — unlikely, but he MAY actually be hoping to minimize the extreme prejudice by getting talks started.

On the other hand, Gore just outright lies. “There is a consensus” NOT. “The science is settled” NOT.

I hope you’ll forgive, but to explain my reasoning, I’m including a post that I slapped together for a website article comment section. PLEASE pass the links along as widely as possible, its awfully important! (and perhaps give me a hat tip for providing ‘em! ).
    ======================================

Anyone who believes that CO2 should be regulated, or that global warming is an issue, owes it to themselves and the rest of us to watch a BBC documentary called “The Great Global Warming Swindle.” You can find it at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-1B0rO6ciU in 8 parts. If you aren’t willing to watch this, but claim global warming is an issue, then you’re either intellectually bankrupt, a coward, or a sheep. Or some combination thereof.

This examiner article is decent, except that its THOUSANDS of scientists that dispute man-made global warming. See http://www.petitionproject.org, and be sure to click the button for ‘Summary of Peer Reviewed Research’ which is far better than the pseudo-science the IPCC puts out.

Also note the 650+ dissenting prominent international scientists, including former and current IPCC members, who have written the US Government to dispute the IPCC and Al Gore climate warming claims. That’s more than 12 times the number of scientists who wrote the IPCC Summary for Policy Makers (which is NOT peer reviewed!).
    http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Minority.Blogs&ContentRecord_id=2674e64f-802a-23ad-490b-bd9faf4dcdb7

The simple fact is that the current science simply DOES NOT support claims of man-caused global warming. The science, climate science that is, happens to be in its infancy, as is our understanding of the myriad factors that have significant effect on global climate.

To spend TRILLIONS of dollars to attempt to address so called global warming would be the height of irresponsibility if not outright fraud or a massive attempt at a power grab and/or redistribution of wealth. This is especially true when one considers all of the things that cause great human suffering and death that we KNOW the cause and are able to mitigate or even eradicate given additional resources (e.g., Tb, AIDS, malnourishment, etc). Or even just here in the US, that money could be put to VASTLY better use than on this non-existent boogy-man.

To regulate something that we all exhale every breath, and that is essential to plant life (just as the oxygen they exhale is to us) as a ‘toxin’ or ‘pollutant’ is absurd and logically and scientifically bankrupt.

Poster “Hiccup” tries to claim that somehow CO2 that we exhale is ‘natural’ while CO2 from burning fossil fuels isn’t — CO2 is CO2 regardless of WHERE it comes from; our breath, volcanoes, forest or prairie fires, burning fossil fuels, or what have you. Furthermore, CO2 levels are highly variable from year to year, our measurements highly suspect – insufficient numbers and questionable locations (one main site is halfway down the slope of an active volcano!!).

Not to mention the simple fact is that CO2 levels have been FAR HIGHER in the relatively recent past – and during those times, the earth was MORE ‘green’ and supported far more biodiversity and number of species than exists today. There is a lot of good science out there which shows that plants grow BETTER and FASTER with far higher CO2 levels than we have today, and that those levels aren’t harmful to animal life, but all that extra plant life is certainly beneficial to us!!

Obama CLAIMS that he is going to ‘listen to the science’ and ‘return science to the prominence it deserves’ and ‘get the politics out of science.’ When it comes to global warming, he is clearly either ignorant, grossly misinformed (and unwilling to check into the facts involved!!!) or outright lying.

We regulate CO2, or implement cap and trade or carbon taxes, and presto, the government controls EVERY industry, our very breaths, and, assuming you use ANY form of energy (lights, cooking, heating, cooling, gasoline, ANYTHING) then presto, your cost of living just went up DRASTICALLY. Its a massive tax on ALL of us — which immediately makes Obama’s claim that taxes ‘won’t go up one dime on 95% of Americans’ an outright lie also, and he KNOWS it.
