Heres Obama’s conundrum on the Ashley Biden cocaine incident.

Any discussion of Ashley Biden’s cocaine use invites comparison of Obama’s usage admitted to in his autobiography. Joe Biden can’t mention it. Barack Obama can’t mention it, and the MSM has almost completely ignored it.

If the Bush daughters snorted coke, it would be front page news. In fact, when a Bush cousin used cocaine, it was front page NYT news, an organization that has yet to even mention “Bidensnort”.

Abstinence-only sex ed is just plain unrealistic. They should be introducing abstinence as one of the possible options, not as the only option available.

Abstinence-only sex ed is just plain unrealistic. They should be introducing abstinence as one of the possible options, not as the only option available. They should be also providing info about contraception, etc. Relying on parents, hoping that they will explain everything to their children themselves because the schools wouldn’t, is also unrealistic. Some parents are uncomfortable discussing this subject with their kids, others just don’t care to do so. My parents never explained anything to me, neither did my friends’ parents explain anything to them and neither did the school explain anything to us. We had to find out on our own and it wasn’t pretty. Some experiences were just downright disgusting. I wish I had been taught a comprehensive no-nonsense sex ed at my school.

I apologize, Luscious — I was just a tad out of it when I read your comment and thought you said “I have never seen Fox” as in period… so it was a mistake on my end. It doesn’t really surprise me that she’s that deep into it — personally, I’ll never stop viewing her as the CNN leftover. However, there are times I have seen that cult, erh, I mean religion

Beyond that, generally, my biggest problem is that it seems like when so-called sex ed comes in, abstinence is just presented as some flippant impossibility so make sure you have a condom. Ani pointed out a problem in both camps — other consequences. Because everyone isn’t religious and/or moral, can we at least present the facts without an agenda? There are enough facts out there about pregnancy and STD scares that it seems like any sensible teenager should be scared out of their skulls to do such stupid things (with Depo shots and their 3% failure rate and condoms and their 15%+ failure rate).
