DECEIVER MADNESS: Championship & Week 4 Prizes

championshipbracket

It’s PETA -vs- Al Gore for all the (phony) marbles!

===============================

DECEIVER MADNESS (Championship): Who's the Deceiver of the Year?

  • PETA (53%)
  • Al Gore (47%)

Loading ... Loading ...

===============================

Winners of Week Four prizes are after the jump.

After you vote, leave a comment below (following the instructions described here) to be eligible to win the Grand Prize (also described here).

===============================

This is it, Deceiver fans! Countless thousands of you have voted (i.e., we haven’t counted, but it’s tons). And it’s come down to the battle of two Titans of deception.

Al Gore and PETA. The inconvenient, profiteering megawatt-waster against the animal-rights puppy killers.

I don’t even know how I’m going to vote on this one.

This poll will be open until Monday night’s NCAA Final Four Championship Game tipoff. (That’s 92 hours of voting). The Deceiver Madness winner will be announced on Tuesday morning, when there will be a trophy presentation in Hollywood by our own “Holly Won’t.” (Yes, Holly. You’re going.)

And now for the Week Four prizes:

The $50 eBay and Barnes & Noble gift cards are headed to enrich the “Pastafarian.” The $50 Bed Bath & Beyond gift card will buy new sheets for “Trina,” who we’re quite sure could use them. The political mini-library of instant classics by Obama, Krugman, Levin, & Coulter will soon be gathering dust wherever “Meg B.” lives. And the last Booby Prize of the tourney — his & hers Deceiver underwear — is guaranteed to embarrass “angry army wife.”

Drop us a line if you think you’re a winner. We promise not to laugh if you’re wrong.

I voted for PETA, because they’d rather “save” some distant, far-off chickens and pigs than help the living, breathing pets that end up in their puppy-deep-freeze. I think the final score on Monday night will be 86 to 79.

  2. 2 katie Apr 3rd, 2009 at 2:28 am

    PETA for sure!

  3. 3 luscious_t Apr 3rd, 2009 at 2:53 am

    PETA PETA PETA!

They go out of their way to be annoying. They utilize threats and attack tactics. They put no thought whatsoever in the “celebs” they choose to represrnt their “cause.” They are completely inconsistent in their actions and their message.

…but mostly because they are totally batshit crazy!!

  4. 4 luscious_t Apr 3rd, 2009 at 2:56 am

    Oh – and I say 72 to 68. haha

  5. 5 That person Apr 3rd, 2009 at 3:06 am

I’m going with PeTA, because the prizes are cooler, and the look on the respective “winner’s” face is bound to be better with my shiny new mink bear than some book.
    64-76

  6. 6 Tengu Apr 3rd, 2009 at 3:06 am

In the end, I’m going with PETA. Being around longer and still able to get people for their causes despite all of their published hypocrisy gives them the edge. I’m going with final score of 78-75.

  7. 7 Chronic Malanga Apr 3rd, 2009 at 3:39 am

I have to go with PETA. Not even Al Gore is as bad as these terrorists.

  8. 8 Chronic Malanga Apr 3rd, 2009 at 3:43 am

And, I think that Monday’s score will be 72-64

  9. 9 Nati Apr 3rd, 2009 at 3:46 am

I voted for Gore! Yay! I wanted to do that since 2000…I used to rly like him back then. But I couldn’t vote back then – wasn’t of the voting age. 8 years later my dream came true. Hell, he might even win this time around. Now that he has been reduced to all that “green” (and other) f***ery and all. I hope there’s not going to be a recount this time though.

  10. 10 Nati Apr 3rd, 2009 at 3:51 am

How do you predict the score? I don’t understand :( okay, 81-73.

  11. 11 Matt (the other one) Apr 3rd, 2009 at 4:42 am

Al Gore – The huge house, the private jets, the four-digit monthly utility bill (when MY evil conservative lifestyle causes my COMBINED utility bill to barely break the $100-dollar mark monthly), the Internet, Love Story, Viet Nam & the non-disclosed medical records – There are just so many facets to Gore’s hypocrisy, whereas PETA is more one dimensional. . . 89-76

BTW – A great alternate item in the AlGore package would be a Coleman kerosene or dual-fuel camping lantern. . . light, heat AND carbon all in one package!

  12. 12 trent bowie Apr 3rd, 2009 at 4:43 am

I voted for PETA because I can’t get over how far they’ll go to push their agenda.

Hmmmm, basketball score….lemme give it a shot:

    88-63

  13. 13 LN Apr 3rd, 2009 at 7:39 am

Had to go with Gore. Since we are going to die from global warming, and it is spring and we had snow flakes. Where the hell is my global warming????

  14. 14 gcb Apr 3rd, 2009 at 7:50 am

I have to go with Al Gore on this one, just due to the sheer scale of his hypocrisy – he’s got the entire PLANET convinced “we’re all gonna die!!!” while he himself zooms around in a private jet, keeps lights on for Earth Day, etc., etc. At least PETA mostly does their most hypocritic work within the confines of the United States. Mostly.

So Al Gore is a world-wide hypocrite, making him much bigger to me. :-)

  15. 15 Andrew Fisher Apr 3rd, 2009 at 7:55 am

impossible to call this one. How can you choose between the shrieking mass of ignorance that is PETA, and a self-righteous douchenozzle who has caused global warming by being a massive sack of hot air?

  16. 16 Seth Apr 3rd, 2009 at 7:56 am

Peta is the worst, hands down.
    De score will be 72-64

  17. 17 Beige Apr 3rd, 2009 at 8:02 am

Gore is, in fact, 50 pounds of bullshiz in a ten-pound bag. However, PETA is 100 pounds, so I voted for them. It was still a tough call.

  18. 18 ErgoDyne Apr 3rd, 2009 at 8:19 am

    Gore.

  19. 19 Anni Apr 3rd, 2009 at 8:44 am

I voted for PETA, because you know they know it themselves deep down. They probably even tell themselves it’s just, because the end justifies the means. Also, no Al Gore global warming people walk around my school giving me fliers about how my carbon footprint is gigantic. PETA kiddos, however, hand me fliers about how my diet is immoral. PETA has much more of an influence on my day-to-day life.

    85-69

  20. 20 Les Paul Apr 3rd, 2009 at 8:46 am

PeTA – there’s more than 1 person, so they’re more dangerous. Although Gore has his minions, to be sure.

    72-67

To: angry army wife — Deceiver underwear is fun-to-wear – and congrats to all ya’ll.

  21. 21 Nivek Apr 3rd, 2009 at 8:51 am

People, politicos, & countries across this planet actually believe and support ManBearPig. Yet everything he does is a total contradiction of how he says everybody else should act. From what I can gather in a dictionary, that is pretty much the definition of “hypocrisy”.

The puppy killers……well, PETA is a flippin’ joke. Only the planet’s biggest morons would believe PETA, donate to, or shill for them. Since celebutards and Hollywood-types appear in every ad for PETA….obviously we know who the planet’s biggest morons are.

Lastly, based on economics of scale, who has a greater chance of directly affecting my life and my wallet?
    Al Gore > PETA.

    My vote: ManBearPig.

    ===================================

On a humorous note, PETA’s headquarters is located in Norfolk, VA, right on the Elizabeth River near Chesapeake Bay. Years ago, a local radio station’s (FM99) morning hosts/comedians would hold an annual “PETA fishing tournament” right in front of the PETA headquarters. I’m not sure if they hold it anymore. It was funny to hear & read about back then.

    Brief mention in second-to-last paragraph.

  22. 22 angry army wife Apr 3rd, 2009 at 8:56 am

I voted for Gore because even though I despise PETA I had to go with the one who scares all of us, humans and our four legged furry friends. He ultimately can do more harm than PETA and more people tend to listen to him than PETA. This was a tough call though.

  23. 23 angry army wife Apr 3rd, 2009 at 8:57 am

Oh, and the score will be 72 to 66. Hey, it’s Friday guys, cut me some slack :)

  24. 24 LN Apr 3rd, 2009 at 9:03 am

    Nivek,

Loved the manbearpig episode. One of our favs.

  25. 25 Jenn Apr 3rd, 2009 at 9:07 am

Al Gore – his global warming scam causes more damage than PETA’s holier than thou screed.
    The score – 82 to 76

  26. 26 Runolfr Apr 3rd, 2009 at 9:26 am

As annoying as Al Gore is (and I live surprisingly close to his megawatt-sucking homestead in Tennessee), he doesn’t piss me off nearly as much as PETA.

  27. 27 LurkingWoman Apr 3rd, 2009 at 9:38 am

I voted for PETA because for much the same reasons that a lot of us here have… going out of their way to stop people from eating chicken and wearing mink when they kill so many domestic animals, and the PETA prizes are cooler. Mmmmmm… meat. I love Hickory Farms.

I’m still upset that Tom Cruise hasn’t made it this far, though. $cientology has actually killed HUMAN BEINGS. Check it out, online. There are so many anti-$cientology sites out there.

As for the NCAA on April 6th… it’s totally outside of my realm of interest and understanding. I had to Google it right now just to find out what it is. (I’m Canadian, and not a sports fan.) But, based on my brief Google search, I think it’ll 87-72. Close game, whatever the hell basketball scores mean.

  28. 28 thegreatsatan Apr 3rd, 2009 at 9:41 am

I would have gone with PETA, but come on, at least they trot out naked chicks on occasion, and really no one wants to see Al Gore naked and preaching about Queen MILF Gaia. And in reality, we must all stop ManBearPig. As for scores, 65-78.

Honestly, I have amost of the stuff in the Al Gore prize bucket, but if I won I could always gift it to charity and then claim a tax credit (if they still exist).

  29. 29 Toubrouk Apr 3rd, 2009 at 9:50 am

I will go for Peta for the inherent risk they pose to medical research. Of course, Al Gore is annoying but he will not actively support people who sabotage research.

  30. 30 CO of Fort Housewife Apr 3rd, 2009 at 9:53 am

PETA for the win. Tough call, but having their brainwashed minions dress up as KKK members just put it right over the top. Final score of the basketball championship will be 75-62.

  31. 31 Rocky Lore Apr 3rd, 2009 at 9:54 am

I know I might have said Gore earlier, but I gotta go with any organization that hires airheads to protest against fur while they sell leather in their fancy boutiques, protest against KFC while overlooking their meat-eating habits, or blow up the very research labs that benefits PETA supporters with Hepatitis or diabetes.

  32. 32 Pastafarian Apr 3rd, 2009 at 9:59 am

    GORE! GORE! GORE!

  33. 33 Beige Apr 3rd, 2009 at 10:02 am

    Ka-rap. I forgot to post a score: 76-60.

  34. 34 Marc Apr 3rd, 2009 at 10:05 am

I voted for PETA, because any organization that kills the very beings it says it is trying to save just has to be the epitome of hypocrisy. Algore just makes you want to kill yourself…

Final score for Mondays game will be 65-57.

  35. 35 Carlo Apr 3rd, 2009 at 10:25 am

I really wanted to vote for ManBearPig (and I’m glad Nati “rly” couldn’t vote in 2000), but I couldn’t pull the trigger versus the puppy killers. Peta wants to kill you AND your little dog, too.

  36. 36 Carlo Apr 3rd, 2009 at 10:27 am

Oh, and the final score Monday will be 73-68.

  37. 37 muppet2171 Apr 3rd, 2009 at 10:29 am

As much as I want the environment to keep us alive, I had to go w/ PETA…they could become a no-kill shelter and actually practice what they preach by not killing animals, but they don’t. They like sensationalism better. Bastards.

    Score… 78-75

  38. 38 Toby Apr 3rd, 2009 at 10:29 am

I voted for PeTA, mainly because the prizes are better. Although, if you gave away a leather hat like this guy — I’d be even more impressed. And the final score of the championship game will be 85-81

  39. 39 Toby Apr 3rd, 2009 at 10:30 am

    er, this guy

  40. 40 TheIrish Apr 3rd, 2009 at 10:36 am

Global Warming may not exist, but dead puppies do. That’s why PETA has has my full unsupport. I believed from the beginning that they were the biggest hipocrites out there. As for the score, I think it’ll be somewhere around 73-69.

  41. 41 Dalton Apr 3rd, 2009 at 10:54 am

I voted for Al Gore, because although PETA may be worse in some ways, Al is just one person. And one person who is that hypocritical deserves to win. The championship score will be 75-66.

  42. 42 Jrod Apr 3rd, 2009 at 11:01 am

It has to be PETA. They are the reason I found this place! Hypocrites!

oh, the score will be 80-71

  43. 43 Habanada Apr 3rd, 2009 at 11:04 am

Al Gore seems the obvious answer to me. I desperately don’t want PeTA to get it because that’s just so completely boring. A part of me feels as though they glory in their own hypocrisy wheras Gore truly thinks he was sent here to save the enviroment.

. . . I don’t know what NCAA is. But my favorite numbers are 42-72.

  44. 44 Minnow Apr 3rd, 2009 at 11:09 am

    GoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGoreGore!

Naked celebrities aren’t half as dangerous as the money wasted on Kyoto, Cap & Trade, government research grants, state & municipal commissions, university studies, intensive climate modeling computer programming, invasive enviromental legislation, global expert panel reports, green advertising, educational propaganda, carbon footprinting, carbon offsets, and Hazmat disposal for those freekin’ frackin’ worthless curlicue lightbulbs.

    Score? 92-103

  45. 45 TrojanPrincess Apr 3rd, 2009 at 11:12 am

I hate Peta with every fiber of my being (mainly because of how they exploit women to make a point about not exploiting animals), but I think that they’re just stupid and should be ignored. I voted for Al Gore because his hysteria is having a far more dangerous effect on the policies and education systems in this world than Peta could ever hope to cause, and because he so blatantly defies everything he preaches at other people to do. Blatantly! Maybe Peta doesn’t do their homework because they’re a bunch of idiots, but Al Gore’s hypocrisy is just in-your-face insulting. And now, the prediction for the game…81-76.

By the way, I didn’t know they made mink teddy bears!!! I obviously can’t win that pack because I voted for Gore (never thought I’d say that phrase in my life), but I think I’ll go buy a mink teddy bear for myself anyway.

  46. 46 Chris Gagnon Apr 3rd, 2009 at 11:26 am

I voted PeTA because They are a real danger as they are batcrap crazy as well as hypocritical! Who in their right mind would eat human breast milk ice cream?!?!?? Here’s a scene for you…Every female office worker at PeTA headquarters being milked on friday morning for the after lunch dog euthenizing/ice cream social!
    Yes, Gore’s a Hypocrite, and his Wife’s a Censor, but I expect hypocrisy in my former/active politician’s!

The final will be a close 53% PeTA, 47% Gore

  47. 47 Elle Apr 3rd, 2009 at 11:31 am

PeTA, I’m still pissed about the killing tens of thousands of pets. Plus, have you seen that CEO’s batsh** crazy will?

Well, maybe it’s not so hypocritical. After all they’re against pet ownership and the cats and dogs they’ve slaughtered can’t very well be pets now can they?

Basketball score? Is that the one with the shortstop and the goalie? Uhmmmm . . . 62-77. Go Detroit Lions!

  48. 48 Queen Bee Apr 3rd, 2009 at 11:31 am

PETA is in it to win it!

  49. 49 Meg 2.0 Apr 3rd, 2009 at 11:36 am

I voted for PeTA because they are the definition of hypocrisy. If they cared about the animals, they would be more aware that their spokesmodels wear fur/leather/mink/suede (choose your fuzzy poison) and would be actually saving and caring ethically for domesticated animals instead of killing them and throwing them in the dumpster.

My prediction for the score is 78 – 65.

  50. 50 Mick Pugh Apr 3rd, 2009 at 11:38 am

Had to vote for Big Al. He’s in a position to do more harm to the world then PETA. But I hope PETA wins because their prize package is better.

    Score will be 98-92.

  51. 51 Redhead Apr 3rd, 2009 at 11:38 am

Wow, this is a tough one. But I have to go with PETA, since they are acutally murderers.

The final score will be 63-57.

  52. 52 Swede0319 Apr 3rd, 2009 at 11:39 am

Had to go with Big Al. Peta are a bunch of eco-terrorists, but Al decieved the entire world. Plus he married a pyscho-bitch.
    Final: 89-86

  53. 53 k80 Apr 3rd, 2009 at 12:03 pm

Gore!! Peta is a group of lunatics to be sure, but manbearpig is part of an organized effort to destroy not just the American economy, but the entire freaking world economy. Carbon offsets are mostly scams, but the money is used to punish and prevent innovation and growth in third world countries all in the name of omfgwereallgonnadieglobalwarming!!! His global scam makes Madoff look like some punk running a 3 card monty game.

  54. 54 Emily H Apr 3rd, 2009 at 12:03 pm

I’m not gonna lie; this was a tough choice. But I hate Al Gore a little bit more, so I voted for him.

  55. 55 Justin Apr 3rd, 2009 at 12:04 pm

Gore’s a much worse problem than PETA… though this is the appropriate top two!

  56. 56 SC Apr 3rd, 2009 at 12:23 pm

PETA because they rather kill animals who have shown loyalty and love the humans and save “sea kittens” that I call food.

    Score: 80-72

  57. 57 Vagrant Dog Apr 3rd, 2009 at 12:40 pm

Even if there weren’t some fabulous prizes involved (hmm… sausage or coal? Which one’s tastier?) I’d still vote for PeTA. I would also encourage people to throw paint on them, yelling “MURDER is murder, you dipwads!”
As for the score, call it 73-67.

  58. 58 k Apr 3rd, 2009 at 12:41 pm

Well, in my mind, this one isn’t even a contest.

PeTA: Because dead puppies and kittens. Srsly. You’re talking to a person who ran into a burning house to rescue a cat. Senseless slaughter ticks me off.

Basketball score: 75-64 (same as the 1979 Michigan State/Indiana State game)

  59. 59 saradasensei Apr 3rd, 2009 at 12:43 pm

PETA has always been my no. 1 vote. Al Gore is an obnoxious hypocrite, but he’s trying to effect PEOPLE. People have the ability to research, learn, and think for themselves. PETA guilts, shames, embarasses and bullies people to conform to their ideals while KILLING animals. At least Gore doesn’t have a body count.
    PETA is despicable.
write in vote for Jenny McCarthy, who also has a body count.

  60. 60 X Apr 3rd, 2009 at 1:00 pm

    the PETA fascists… and 74-73

  61. 61 Pastafarian Apr 3rd, 2009 at 1:05 pm

I’m going to fly into a violent, murderous rage if Gore loses. And yet I kinda want peta to win too. I guess a tie is out of the question. Damn. Spoiled for choice. know, I’ll make the loser my own Deceiver award out of elbow macaroni, glitter, and Elmer’s glue, and crayons just like the one I made for my grandma yesterday.

    What?

  62. 62 Fortunate Son Apr 3rd, 2009 at 1:51 pm

I voted for Gore, hands down.

P3+A is just a minor annoyance compared to the global idiocy Gore has spawned with his pseudoscience.

I believe in pristine wilderness, picking up your trash and not polluting streams and rivers even more than the next guy, but Al Gore ignores his own proselytization, while simultaneously presenting misleading facts.

Gore’s dissemination of misinformation has even become a case study for media experts.

  63. 63 California Dave Apr 3rd, 2009 at 1:53 pm

Gore. Since I nominated him in the first place, I had to dance with the one I brung. I don’t care about the basketball game, but I’ll say 82-79 just for the hell of it.

Hey Pasta – to make that award extra special, cook the macaroni first!

  64. 64 StrawberryGirl Apr 3rd, 2009 at 2:11 pm

PETA FTW…dead puppies and kittehs, meat-eating and fur-wearing D-list celebrity endorsements, and cultism that predates the Church of Global Warming.

    Final score: 82-76

  65. 65 Adalia Apr 3rd, 2009 at 2:13 pm

I voted for peta, because any organization that f—ed up and confused deserves to win this championship. I have no idea about basketball, but I’ll say 73-69, which I hope is actually a possible score, I wouldn’t know.

  66. 66 TrojanPrincess Apr 3rd, 2009 at 2:17 pm

“At least Gore doesn’t have a body count.”

Actually, environmentalism keeps 3rd world countries from industrializing to make money that would help them escape famine and poverty; and environmental groups prevent poor African nations from using things like DDT to prevent malaria, which kills millions of people. Also, the refusal to cut down trees has led to some terrible forest fires lately. Remember the recent ones in Australia? Fires destroy not only property, but also the lives of people and Peta’s oh-so-precious animals.

Personally, I think that one human death is worse than a million puppies, especially if those puppies were just put to sleep by injection and that human had to suffer to death with a completely preventable disease like malaria because Al Gore has brainwashed everyone into believing that the environment is more important than our comfort (ours, not his – hence the hypocrisy).

I mean, you have a point in that Peta is directly responsible for the death of those animals, but I think Al Gore’s brand of environmental fear-mongering is far more dangerous to *humans* and therefore vastly more important to keep an eye on.

  67. 67 kbug61 Apr 3rd, 2009 at 2:38 pm

I went Peta for the final. I just can’t get over the 95% kill rate. I have always adopted from my local shelter and even as desperate as their facility is, I’m pretty sure they avoid euthanasia if at all possible.

  68. 68 AllyKat Apr 3rd, 2009 at 2:50 pm

Voted for Gore. Threw up a little in my mouth. Regardless of the results, I am sure both nominees will continue to demonstrate exactly how much they deserve the title.

Basketball prediction: 83-79. I don’t even know who’s playing, missed March Madness this year. I just want in on the prize pack. :)

  69. 69 fallingstar Apr 3rd, 2009 at 3:13 pm

PETA- because I like my steak rare, my fur warm, and makeup beautiful.

    Score: 89-68

FWIW, TrojanPrincess, even though I voted for PETA, your post is brilliant and so, so true.

  71. 71 PJ Apr 3rd, 2009 at 4:17 pm

This is it? Al Gore vs PETA? You would put Al Gore ahead of John Edwards? Amazing.

  72. 72 Saro Apr 3rd, 2009 at 4:41 pm

I went with PeTA, but it was tough. I really am not a fan of Al Gore either.

And the final will be 87-81.

  73. 73 Chuwah Apr 3rd, 2009 at 4:57 pm

I’ve always had a special spot in my heart for being disgusted with PeTA because of, well, what they are and what they do, so I’ll have to go with them.

Al Gore and the Grand High Mucky-Mucks of PeTA should be made to go live in a 3rd-world, unindustrialized country with no electricity, no modern plumbing, and no modern medical facilities or drugs for a year and see how far they get. Then they can experience firsthand how great going back to a preindustrialized society will be. Especially the PeTA VP who’s diabetic.

  74. 74 Chuwah Apr 3rd, 2009 at 4:58 pm

Oh yeah, the score: 70-73. Duh.

  75. 75 winewife Apr 3rd, 2009 at 5:09 pm

No contest, Al Gore wins hands down for me. TrojanPrincess wrote about a few of the terrible results of this manufactured panic over the enviroment. The list of people and places that have been harmed by these “do-gooders” would probably be endless (check out the history of Yellowstone for a start). I think Al Gore is the perfect choice to be the defacto head of a movement that has hypocrisy at its core since he lives up to that standard so very, very well.

  76. 76 Nati Apr 3rd, 2009 at 5:22 pm

Oh, forgot to congratulate the winners. So…congratulations, winners. And also, why would anyone be embarrassed by deceiver underwear? If I had won that thong, I’d wear it on top of my clothes rather than underneath, I’d be so proud.

Al Gore, all the way — he’s influencing policy that’s going to bring the entire world down (not to be an alarmist or anything). PeTA might be evil, and they might also be spearheading the animal rights movement which also isn’t helping policy, but Obama’s going to enact things that will drive prices up and be harmful to, ya know, people here soon based one verything Gore is touting. Grrr…

As for the basketball game, oh, 81-73.

  78. 78 Pastafarian Apr 3rd, 2009 at 6:09 pm

    I’ll guess the score.

    101-92

Does that sound right? Sounds good to me.

  79. 79 Timm Apr 3rd, 2009 at 6:54 pm

I voted for PETA because if animals did want people speaking for them, it certainly wouldn’t be the folks at PETA. That, and most of it’s members seem to be so due to a certain self rightiousness that seems to come over them when speaking of their “beliefs.” Sure, they want to think they are bringing “awareness” but tell that to Bubba in Appalachia, hunting wild game to feed his family.

I predict the score will be 88-91

  80. 80 HJay Apr 3rd, 2009 at 7:17 pm

I voted for Mr. Gore, but I think that PETA will win 56 to 44.

  81. 81 Poobah Apr 3rd, 2009 at 7:25 pm

Turning every light in the house on for big Al.

  82. 82 Emma Apr 3rd, 2009 at 7:29 pm

PETA by the slightest bit, but they both went from having my support 17 years ago in my naive youth to making me sick.

  83. 83 weyer Apr 3rd, 2009 at 9:22 pm

This is a tough one. (Actually it’s an easy one: I’ll be happy no matter who wins.) But I have to go with Gore. PETA’s hypocrisy is more hypocritical, true. But it’s the sheer scale of Al Gore that wins me over. He’s just one man, yet he has the ear of Congressman, Senators, even Presidents.

  84. 84 kristen Apr 3rd, 2009 at 10:35 pm

i voted for PETA because they are horrible liars. i also have two pitbulls that were rescues(meaning i rescued them and took care of them, not rescued like PETA and killed them 4 seconds later)

    the score will be 93-87

  85. 85 Kari Apr 3rd, 2009 at 11:01 pm

PETA for sure, your posts on them are what keeps me coming back!

  86. 86 randomstalker Apr 3rd, 2009 at 11:50 pm

I voted for PeTA because the teddy bear looks cute. Oh, and there’s also the obvious reason: that they’re nutty, animal killers, complete hypocrites, etc… But mostly because the teddy bear looks cute.

  87. 87 Jenn Apr 4th, 2009 at 12:37 am

Peta is so much bigger than Gore. It only makes sense that they would win.

  88. 88 D--- Apr 4th, 2009 at 10:07 am

PeTA for spending more, by far, on advertising then on helping poor little fido!

    88 – 84

  89. 89 Matt Apr 4th, 2009 at 1:43 pm

    PETA.

They are truly the biggest hypocrites in the world and they’ve really earned this win.

  90. 90 Shell Apr 4th, 2009 at 2:07 pm

I have to vote Gore. As others have already said, PETA limits most of its stupidity to the U.S., while Al’s hypocrisy knows no boundaries. Plus, PETA has the combined hypocrite power of many people. Gore’s got enough in one pinky for the whole world.

and 73-65. Not that I have the foggiest idea how to predict basketball scores.

  91. 91 Tal Apr 4th, 2009 at 3:49 pm

It was tough, but I had to go with PETA. I’m never forgiving Ingrid Newkirk for saying that she would be against animal research even if it produced a cure for AIDS. Apparently bunnies are more important than gay guys and skeletal African children.

I have a better track record when it comes to finding homes for homeless animals, and I’m just somebody who lives in the country where a lot of morons drop off their unwanted cats. All six of my family’s cats that we’ve had throughout the years were in need of homes, and five were strays who showed up on the lawn. Two of the stray ones were pregnant when they showed up and we found homes for all nine kittens. One cat was already middle-aged and spayed when she showed up; we think her owners dumped her off because of her soon-apparent kidney problems. Guess who spent over a decade cleaning up pee outside the litter box? Yeah, us. (Awfully sweet cat, though.)

Plus those PETA idiots are the reason why I’m hesitant to wear my inherited fur coat, which died about twenty years before I was born.

  92. 92 pathgirl Apr 4th, 2009 at 6:20 pm

Must vote PETA since its thanks to they’re decieverlyness (is that a word, if not it should be) that i first found this wonderful, snarky, kick-ass sight!!

  93. 93 pathgirl Apr 4th, 2009 at 6:23 pm

    Well actually them & Tom Cruise/Scientology. :-)

  94. 94 TheEyeSeesAll Apr 5th, 2009 at 1:55 am

@PJ — There were 5 rounds of voting before this one. Edwards lost to Gore, fair and square. Where you been?

  95. 95 Nick Apr 5th, 2009 at 5:58 am

I went with Gore. His hypocrisy about global warming and the need to cut back on energy is more irritating to me than PETA can ever be.

And I am going to go with the example you guys put up and say that the final score will be 66 to 58. I actually have no idea how to predict basketball scores. Sorry.

  96. 96 randomstalker Apr 5th, 2009 at 9:45 am

Hmmm, looks like it’ll be a close one.

My guess is that it will stay at 56-44 in PeTA’s favor. I voted for PeTA, by the way. Yay me!

  97. 97 Simon Scowl Apr 5th, 2009 at 11:06 am

This is it? Al Gore vs PETA? You would put Al Gore ahead of John Edwards? Amazing.

    You guys voted.

  98. 98 Crow Jane Apr 5th, 2009 at 1:09 pm

Peta. Peta. Peta. For being animal killing fame whores.

The score? 88-72? I’m not good with sports.

  99. 99 Rocko Apr 5th, 2009 at 2:16 pm

I voted PeTA, I think PeTA will win. And the score of the championship game? 86 – 80

  100. 100 Jade Apr 5th, 2009 at 4:45 pm

PETA all the way! No one should get away with murdering animals and claiming to want to help the. If they really cared, they wouldn’t spend so much money on gross ad campaigns and potests!

  101. 101 Ale Apr 5th, 2009 at 5:10 pm

PETA because they are complete hypocrites with their stupid advertisements with hypocritical celebrities… They totally suck!

As for the score, Michigan State – 98, NC – 83

  102. 102 Menace Apr 5th, 2009 at 6:52 pm

As much as I can’t stand PETA, I voted for Gore, as if he doesn’t win, he’s going to demand a recount and possibly manipulate my ballot anyway, while PETA’s just going to throw flour at me or something.

  103. 103 Menace Apr 5th, 2009 at 7:01 pm

As for basketball, I’ve never followed it so I have no idea what the score would be, so I’ll just go with my favorite numbers of the day: 111 to 27.

  104. 104 Andrew Fisher Apr 5th, 2009 at 7:37 pm

Gore may be a hypocritic nitwit, but PETA is the only one committing and promoting crimes

  105. 105 kp Apr 5th, 2009 at 9:59 pm

Al Gore, although I’m sure both of them will be there next year!

  106. 106 Stained Glass Apr 5th, 2009 at 10:02 pm

I voted for PETA because it’s hypocritical to say that you’re for animal rights when in fact you’re killing puppies. Shame! Shame!

The score of Monday’s UNC-MSU final (Go State!) will be 76-72.

  107. 107 Trina Apr 6th, 2009 at 8:23 am

Thanks much! And down with PETA!

  108. 108 Tim Apr 6th, 2009 at 10:40 am

People for the Euthanization of Too many Animals.

Now excuse me while I enjoy this turkey sandwich…

  109. 109 Alkalannar Apr 6th, 2009 at 11:07 am

I’m not sure who I voted for, but because I like the Peta prize package better, I’ll say I voted for them (even though I think it was Gore). (How hypocritical is this comment?)

So I say that I voted for PETA, and that the final score will be 92 88.

  110. 110 jimsure Apr 6th, 2009 at 11:33 am

I had to vote for Al. He is as big as a peta protest march himself, wastes more energy than the rest of us combined and can eat his weight in meat and potatos(sorry peta). If we really want to solve our energy crises and save fossil fuels, put Al in a field of wind turbines and let him give his global warming speech. Just be careful and wear a jacket since every time he seems to give the speech it SNOWS.

  111. 111 angry army wife Apr 6th, 2009 at 12:39 pm

Wow, PETA is winning. While PETA is a pretty disturbing bunch of nasty, hyprocrical people who kill lovable animals, Gore will do more harm for us than PETA. Too many people actually listen to him, just as much as they listened to our “hope and change” guy. Like I “hope” to have “Change” left.

Oh, and thanks for the undies. One question? do they glow in the dark? :)

  112. 112 Jill Apr 6th, 2009 at 1:08 pm

    Had to go with PeTA.

  113. 113 Jill Apr 6th, 2009 at 1:11 pm

Didn’t read the instructions first… OK, PeTA because they are evil, evil, evil, and everything they do is in direct contradiction to what they’re supposed to be about – Gore just wants some attention.

    Um, 42 to 78.

  114. 114 Pastafarian Apr 6th, 2009 at 2:31 pm

Well… it looks like I’m making the elbow macaroni runner up award for Al.

  115. 115 Beige Apr 6th, 2009 at 3:58 pm

Congrats to the winnahs! Yay! :)

  116. 116 joated Apr 6th, 2009 at 6:19 pm

Jeez, this is a tough choice. Full scale moonbats on both sides. But, I flipped a bacon, egg and cheese burger and it came sunnyside up for Mr. The-Sunshine-Plays-No-Roll. Gotta go with Uncle Albert. Since 2000 he has been searching for a cause and, apparently couldn’t find one that would accept such a loser, so he made one up. Out of whole cloth.

And, by cracky, we better do something about global warming right now!

Because, you know, the climate might jsut swing back in its natural, pendulum-like way before Uncle Albert can take credit for saving mankind. Or something.

  117. 117 ganzagwenie Apr 6th, 2009 at 6:36 pm

PETA, because really, on the scale of “hypocritical-ness”, an organization that supposedly has the sole purpose of existing to advance animal rights, but that actually kills thousands of animals entrusted to its care is way higher than some dude who preaches environmental conservation but is a little lax about converting all of his light bulbs to hydrogen or whatever. and also, the prizes are better (not that I’ll win– I suck at raffles, but still, someone should get to have a nice steak dinner after all this)

  118. 118 Anni Apr 6th, 2009 at 6:50 pm

Not that any of you care, but the winning side is Carolina tonight imo. Carolina is going to pummel Michigan tonight and make Chapel Hill (with the rest of the triangle and the state) proud. >:)
