Keith Olbermann Counts Down His Bailout Money

duhhhhhhhhThere’s nobody you can trust more to tell you who to be angry at and why than Keith Olbermann. The MSNBC anchorman has become a connoisseur of condemnation, a sultan of spittle, a regent of red-faced rage. And he’s an equal-opportunity scold; he lambastes conservatives and right-wingers! He really does get his dander up, to the point where it often flies out from under that extremely odd hairpiece.

This talent has made him a very wealthy man, and a new site called Worst Bailout in the World has a problem with it:

Dear Mr. Olbermann,

While General Electric, the parent-company of your MSNBC network, was negotiating a $126 billion taxpayer-funded bailout, you signed a new contract raising your salary from $4 million to $7.5 million annually. You have used your show as a platform to call for the resignation of corporate executives accepting excessive bonuses on the backs of taxpayers who are picking up the tab for these atrocious bailouts, yet you yourself have no problem engaging in the same “class economic rape” that you accuse them of.

Please heed your own advice and stop accepting taxpayer money to subsidize your nightly diatribes. Resign or return the balance of your excessive raise to the U.S. Treasury.

Sincerely,

And then there’s a form where you can sign their petition, or accuse them of hating America, or whatever it is you want to do.

$7.5 million is a sweet pile of cash. That works out to, what, 10 bucks per viewer? Keith must have a solid-gold thesaurus on his diamond-studded nightstand, right next to his George Bush voodoo doll. I wonder what he’ll do when he has to give back all his ill-gotten gains or resign in disgrace? How will he live with the shame? LOL, just kidding!

But Simon, Keith needs that pile o’ dough to give to charity once Sean Hannity takes up Olbermann’s challenge to be waterboarded.

And what a good idea *that* is, turning a serious legal/moral/national security issue into a freakin’ circus.

    [Not.]

For my own curiosity does anyone know if Al Gore has some sort of partnership with GE?

I always thought waterboarding was an Olympic sport…

Umm. that’s Keith’s salary. Not a bonus for driving his company into the ground.

Can you see the difference there?

“Umm. that’s Keith’s salary. Not a bonus for driving his company into the ground.”

So, the problem with the bonuses is that they get more money while losing customers? Well, ‘ol Keith’s network has been knocking off viewers faster than the swine flu, and he just doubled his salary.

    See the similarity there?

Umm, why don’t you explain it to us. If you think we can possibly comprehend it.

I love how they called on him to resign. That was a nice touch.

Seriously though, Keith was great in all those American Pie movies.

Elizabeth Edwards tears apart Rielle Hunter as a “pathetic parasite”

“Hunter initially seduced Edwards using a worn come-on line, Elizabeth writes: …She lashes out at Hunter, now 45, whose name she never actually uses in the book, as a parasitic groupie who invaded the Edwardses’ life….Her own life may be tragic, she concludes, but Hunter’s is “pathetic.”

Holy smoke Irish – you are right. Keith and Eugene separated at birth. As for earning that increase? How does he justify that? The numbers show Olberman,Maddow and the like are losing viewers left, right and center. Another example of a poor grasp on reality.

I cannot believe they pay him that much money. Dang, what do I need to do to get a job like that?

“And he’s an equal-opportunity scold; he lambastes conservatives and right-wingers!”

That line was awesome. I got a good laugh out of it.

When the rest of America is forced to cut back or even deal with a job loss, a raise like that is HUGELY inappropriate, especially after getting on a high horse about it. He’s lucky he makes 4 million to begin with! He needs to do like the rest of us and just be greatful we have jobs and consider that bonus enough.

Guy, guys, you all keep forgetting, its “Do as they SAY not as they DO”. Silly common people, Bath Tub Boy deserves the money he is getting he has to pay for all those hair transplant surgeries.

This is the perfect theme for Mr. Olberman – only change the “young” to “old”

And there’s always a place for the angry young man,
With his fist in the air and his head in the sand.
And he’s never been able to learn from mistakes,
So he can’t understand why his heart always breaks.
And his honor is pure and his courage as well,
And he’s fair and he’s true and he’s boring as hell-
And he’ll go to the grave as an angry old man

He is already overpaid for the job he is doing. Underqualified and overpaid. He should be grateful that he is making a lot of money, especially since his ratings are dipping. I heard today that an MSNBC office building may need to rent out some of its space to help pay the rent. Might I suggest they stop paying idiots like this dweebert so much?

  17. 17 Vagrant Dog Apr 30th, 2009 at 2:25 pm

His tie… is PINK. I am pre-emptively voting him out of any office he attempts to run for, right now. And he’s no longer allowed to sit in chairs.

  18. 18 Beige Apr 30th, 2009 at 7:38 pm

    “Dweebert”. Hee.

In other news, Keith Olbermann is a fully-poseable, saran-haired action figure. You heard it here first. Back to you.

  19. 19 Habanada Apr 30th, 2009 at 8:13 pm

    Right-wingers and conservatives . . . tee hee.

I’ve never watched him. Does he pounce on Republicans, too? Because then I’ll believe he’s truly nonpartisan in his diatrybage?

Diatrybage is my new word of the day!
