John Edwards Knows How to Treat a Lady (Like a Piece of Furniture)

Once again, the National Enquirer is way out ahead of the “real” media on the John Edwards story. One month ago today, the Enquirer reported that Edwards is under federal investigation for allegedly paying off his mistress and babymama Rielle Hunter with campaign funds. Now the Associated Press is confirming it:

Failed presidential candidate John Edwards, whose political action committee paid more than $100,000 to his mistress’ company, acknowledged Sunday that federal investigators were looking into how he handled his campaign funds…

“I am confident that no funds from my campaign were used improperly,” Edwards said in the statement. “However, I know that it is the role of government to ensure that this is true. We have made available to the United States both the people and the information necessary to help them get the issue resolved efficiently and in a timely matter…”

His political action committee paid Hunter’s firm $100,000 for video production in a four-month span in 2006, and then paid an additional $14,086.50 on April 1, 2007. At the time, the PAC only had $7,932.95 in cash on hand, according to records filed with the Federal Election Commission.

That same day, according to the records, Edwards’ presidential campaign paid the PAC $14,034.61 for what is listed as a “furniture purchase.”

Ouch! I’m sure Rielle is thrilled that she got paid for being a piece of furniture. Well, technically it’s true. He did spend a lot of time on top of her. He almost certainly must have left some stains.

And when he went away, he didn’t take her with him.

And of course…the LEFTIST MEDIA…remains silent on it all. The collective stomach of middle America will soon be churning and as LEFTIST media shrinks so too will Obama’s clout until he is trounced out of office for being the impostor he is.

    Next Please!

P.S. Thank you Deceiver for having the guts to report this story and mass public violation of trust by John Edwards AND HIS WIFE.

Shortly after John Edwards’ “confession”, Elizabeth Edwards announced plans to open a used furnitures store called “The Red Door”.

I’m not entirely sure these events are unrelated, perhaps an attempt to provide a cover story for the check?

As in: “EE was buying used furniture from the campaign to resell at the Red Door”

GAT: Leftists here hate him as much as right-wingers. The hatred of JE at this site is pretty free of any partisanship. :)

“Well, technically it’s true. He did spend a lot of time on top of her. He almost certainly must have left some stains.” I love your writing here. <3 Oh so much.

A classic Democrat lawyer. Look the American people directly in the eyes and LIE LIKE A FRIGGIN’ RUG! When caught, lie some more. Then lie to cover all the previous lies.

I see a lot of Obama in John Edwards…

edwards also conned supporters into contributing to a charitable fund he set up which was supposed to be dedicated to fighting poverty. it turned out that the money went to pay his campaign exploratory staff. the claim was that his presidency would fight poverty.

this is who progressives are. it is good to hate them.

Great, now I’m a piece of furniture.

They (Dems) need to make sure he never leaves the second America he calls a house. (Although he may spend time in the first America, i.e. prison, for a tad) This permanently ruins him and keeps him from EVER popping up again politically. A twofer…

I really feel sorry for Edward’s wife. She had/has Cancer and must be privately suffering due to of her philandering husband. I don’t know where Obama fits into this mess, other than his ugliness. Democrats used to state that Mr. Bush looked like a Chimp, but has anyone really looked at Obama recently? He really looks like a Chimp. Big ears and all.

What a great way to start my Monday morning! You had me laughing at your “used furniture” joke. JE just needs to go back into hiding and never come out again. Could you imagine hiring him as your lawyer?

    There are two Americas.
One where the rich can buy furniture and then just discard it when they’re done.
And one where the poor get theirs from Rent-a-couch and pay forever.

I’m waiting for some in the media, and especially on the Left, to refer to the Edwards as white trash (a la Sarah Palin). Mind you, I’m not holding my breath, but I’m still waiting.

  16. 16 Beige May 4th, 2009 at 9:03 am

Wow. That’s some furniture Habitat for Humanity would turn down, no doubt. Now, Habitat for STDs, OTOH…

  17. 17 MC Mom May 4th, 2009 at 1:06 pm

Paul, don’t hold your breath waiting for that one. Edwards doesn’t hunt, snowmobile or have a kid that got knocked up, so apparently he technically doesn’t count as white trash, despite all his douchebag ways.

  18. 18 Chronic Malanga May 4th, 2009 at 1:49 pm

Calling Rielle a piece of furniture is far better than what I would have classified her as.

  19. 19 Ani May 4th, 2009 at 9:53 pm

Paul Atreides (LOVE the name :-D ) I’m on the Left and to be honest… Edwards is beyond white trash. That would be a compliment considering the crap he’s pulled. White trash are basically ignorant. Guys like Edwards aren’t ignorant, they try to find loopholes that we can only hope end up hanging him. In words you may understand…Edwards reminds me of Count Fenring ;)

Thanks for the snort worthy furniture jokes Simon. I’d comment on Mr. “Two America’s” but , frankly, nothing about him and the troupe of comic monkeys surrounding him surprises me anymore.

  22. 22 Happy Camper May 5th, 2009 at 8:00 am

I have always called JE a whore chasing cheap piece of white trash. The furniture joke was funny. The one about renting a couch and paying forever was funny too.

My experience with conservatives, I live in OK., is pretty much they hate everything they can’t control. Hate is pretty much their sole emotion. Hate is pretty much what’s wrong with the world.

John Edwards isn’t every Dem. He has, on the other hand, pretty much acted out every man’s fantasy. Except I’m pretty sure in their fantasies most men don’t need to put sacks on the women’s head.

    Bottom line: Poor kids.

Elizabeth Edwards on whether its John’s baby:

‘Despite John Edwards’ denials that he fathered a baby with his onetime mistress, his betrayed wife Elizabeth said she has “no idea” whether the former presidential candidate is a new dad.

In an exclusive interview set to air Thursday, Oprah Winfrey asks Elizabeth Edwards about rampant speculation that he is the father of campaign videographer Rielle Hunter’s one-year-old daughter.

I’ve seen a picture of the baby. I have no idea. It doesn’t look like my children but I don’t have any idea,” Edwards told Winfrey.’

  25. 25 Happy Camper May 5th, 2009 at 12:43 pm

EE may have no idea. The possibilities are there is more than one man involved and RH doesn’t want JE to know so she refuses a DNA test. The moment he turns out not to be the father her 15 minitues of infamy are over. JE knows he isn’t the father so he isn’t in a hurry with everything else on his plate, like maybe going to jail and a dying wife. Or JE believes himself to be the father and needs no DNA test. The last one is a mistake, considering there have been posts on the internet that put RH with other men during the time of conception. This requires trust that I don’t believe RH deserves. I’ve known women like her. They pretty much will sleep with whoever they end up with when the bar closes. It appears to be part of the date or contact. They really don’t think much of it. It could also be her way of getting even with JE for dumping her for his wife and family. And she has a pattern of behavior that would suggest there could be more than one man. One more possibility exists, EE doesn’t want to know.

I’m with EE, RH’s baby doesn’t look like her kids. Of course that doesn’t mean anything.

Q: What do John Edwards and Charlton Heston have in common?

A: They’ve both known the pleasures of “Furniture Girls.”

In the movie “Soylent Green” (1973), the ruling elite of the starving, overpopulated world of 2030 live in luxurious apartments that come complete with live-in mistresses known as Furniture Girls. One such prostitute in the movie explains her job to Heston by saying, “Just think of me as furniture.”

    USED furniture, that is.

(And remember: Tuesday is Soylent Green Day!)

  27. 27 Simon Scowl May 5th, 2009 at 1:09 pm

If John Edwards knows he isn’t the father, there’s no conceivable reason he wouldn’t want to prove it.

  28. 28 Marilyn May 5th, 2009 at 1:50 pm

I believe RH is waiting for EE to pass away. I’d bet money (which I don’t have alot of!) JRE has promised RH if she’s stays quiet during EE’s book release and not go public about who’s Frances Quinn’s father, he will marry her later. I truly feel RH confided to Jay McInerney about she loves JRE. I’ve read the short story he wrote about Alison Poole’s relationship with “Tom” the southern presidential candidate. Alison told Tom she would wait and do whatever he wanted her to do as long as they would eventually be together in the end. Besides who else is going to want to “date” RH now since she’s been exposed as Ho.

  29. 29 Happy Camper May 5th, 2009 at 1:52 pm

RH maybe threating him or blackmailing him over something entirely unrelated to the baby. If he doesn’t know for sure the baby isn’t his, he may choose to not deal with it right now. Although that doesn’t say much for him either. If he’s daddy, he owes child support. He doesn’t however owe “mistress support”. Little miss hot pants can get a job or target another man. God knows they’re out there.

I bet you think I hate men. I don’t. I just watched multiple men over the years do what JE has done. A lot never got caught.

  30. 30 Marilyn May 5th, 2009 at 2:14 pm

I know you don’t hate men – I just don’t like when men and women who have affairs and don’t realize the damage and hurt they cause to the families. I’ve known of a few men and women who were/are just like JRE and RH.

I have a hard time being civil to women who interfer with other women’s families. I need to work on that. Like teach the young woman I know not to do that.

  36. 36 Marilyn May 5th, 2009 at 10:43 pm

Very interesting what I came across out on the internet – a picture of RH and baby. Looks like someone with money is still bankrolling RH and baby – my guess is the Edwards? She is putting the baby into the backseat and if I’m not mistaken she driving a BMW with North Carolina plates which are fuzzy on purpose my guess. RH’s probably being paid to keep quiet and won’t be telling her side of the story to anyone. The book tour is just to jump start JRE’s career. EE is an enabler!! So disappointing to me.

This is probably a good thing. Get paternity established. If JE is the father he pays child support. Then RH goes on down the road and leaves EE’s family alone. BTW, JE will never take up for RH against EE. Won’t ever happen.

The other side of child support is visitation. RH and JE will probably be fighting for a least 18 years. He’s going to be 70+ years old and still paying for this embarrassing mistake, the affair, not the baby.

RH go out and get your own man, get a job and do something to make up to this child what you have already done to her. Baby’s young, you have time to make it up to her. By the time you and JE get together, if ever, he’ll need viagra to get it up.
So get a younger man who will help you with your baby and start living your life for your own family.

I want to go back to Octomom and the fraud that is being allowed to take place. what has happened to the tax payers dollars that pays for “child protection” and where has all the fraud protection in this country or maybe just this state gone??? this woman who without marriage, no husband, no job , no home, has 6 kids and receiving gov, assistance for them goes to an expensive ( we inderstand) fertility doctor ( this cost my family thousands and they had to pay it) and she ends up with 8 more babies, now with 14 kids…. still unemployed of course, but Daddy????buys her home and everyone runs to set her up with free nursing care etc, which she fires because she did not like them??? please she has been to disneyland had her nails done her hair done and buys new clothes a wax job on her eyebrows etc and no one is asking where is the money coming from???? this gal is a master at using the system ( that is not her fault) but it is the fault of the tax payers whose money is being spent in many many other ways and we need tom investigate. the other most important thing is… if these babies 9 like several of her other older kids) develope health problems down the road ( and we understand some medical men have said this is more then likely going) to happen ) who oays the medical bills???? guess who. what about the babies welfre now?? my sugestion would be adopt them out to caring two parent families that truly want a baby and can give the baby the love, security and care it needs. for once, lets put the kids in first place and let the Mom take a well deserved back seat……
