Al Sharpton Defends Michael Jackson. Sometimes.

There’s been no more staunch defender of Michael Jackson’s corpse than the Rev. Al Sharpton. Here he is performing at Jackson’s final concert, I mean first funeral:

“There was nothing strange about your daddy. It was strange what your daddy had to deal with, but he dealt with it.” A noble stance! Sharpton reminded us how much he respected and admired Michael Jackson and his amazing achievements.

Too bad he waited until Jackson was safely dead before expressing it. Us Magazine has dug up this Sharpton nugget from last September, on something called the GO Fish Radio Network:

“Well, just remember: You quoted Michael. I didn’t.” Ha ha ha! See, Sharpton didn’t want to be associated with Jackson because he was… well, strange.

Michael Jackson left Al Sharpton the greatest gift of all: the world’s attention. No wonder Sharpton found it in his heart the empty space in his chest that would normally contain a heart to forgive him.

P.S. Who really killed Michael Jackson? Sharpton is open to all theories.

I would really like to know what church Rev. Al actually preaches at. I know that he preaches to all the camera’s that are stuffed into his face, but what church?

Dang the guy is loud, you could probably have heard him without the microphone!

  3. 3 Hurricane Jul 10th, 2009 at 3:03 pm

Biggest a$$clown in the race-baiting business.

    Is that racist?

  4. 4 Beige Jul 10th, 2009 at 3:59 pm

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have apparently been ordained in the churches of their own egos. WHY THE HELL is anyone still listening to a fargin’ thing Sharpton has to say, after Tawana “Just ’cause this was a lie doesn’t mean stuff LIKE this never happened” Brawley? WTF? Susan Smith tried to blame her kids’ abduction on a nonexistent black man, and that STILL gets thrown in our faces. The Tawana Brawley hoax, OTOH, gets a shrug, if that.

Beige, we can still incorporate your idea of putting him in a box with Jesse Jackson and throw in a rusty spoon so they can devour each other.

  6. 6 Fortunate_Son Jul 10th, 2009 at 6:06 pm

Sharpton is like a moth to the publicity flame.

I wonder how many readers are old enough to remember Tawana Brawley?

LOL at the “Sarah Palin did something to Michael Jackson and that’s why she’s stepping down” reference on Sharpton’s radio show.

That being said, if a ‘magic’ button existed where Sarah Palin could press it and legally, every pedophile (including Michael Jackson and Obama’s brother) would just disappear, I’m sure she’d use it.

Beige, Fortunate_Son, thank you both for bringing up Tawana! I think of that little liar every time I hear Sharpton’s name or voice. LIARS!! Both of them. And I’m 40. I read the book the two journalists put out after this story faded away. Very great bit of journalism those two did uncovering and unravelling that whole scam/pack of lies/tall tale/fiction. They not only nailed the girl, but the family and Shapton on all of it. Brilliant. And it’s not like they did it to be mean or racist – they were following a “crime” story. The story was the boss. Unfortunately for the girl and Sharpton, it and those who clung to it were exposed for what it/they was/were – lies/liars.

How come al and jesse are only around when it has something to do with African Americans? Um??

  10. 10 jethro mayham Jul 13th, 2009 at 5:33 am

Al is obviously just a gold-digger and you definitely can add Jesse also. Every time their is any commotion, they show up out of nowheres. They screw things up because they don’t even have time to study the issues. What a bunch of jokers.

Who said Michael was an African-American? Didn’t he turn himself white? Wasn’t that why Sharpton & Jackson disowned him in the first place? He separated himself from the black community on purpose! Now that he is dead, he is suddenly this great BLACK man.

” He separated himself from the black community on purpose! Now that he is dead, he is suddenly this great BLACK man”

Reminds me of another famous “black” man named OJ.

  13. 13 Renee Jul 22nd, 2009 at 5:34 am

OMG…for the last friggin time…he did NOT turn himself white. VITILIGO. A very rare but real disease that strips the pigmentation from their(those who suffer) skin. You can see it in old pics of him, during the Thriller era. Bits of his skin are splotched.

I don’t care how white he looked. Michael Jackson was BLACK. And don’t you ever forget it!

  14. 14 Simon Scowl Jul 22nd, 2009 at 12:56 pm

Does vitiligo eat away at your nose, too?

  15. 15 Cristina Aug 7th, 2009 at 12:31 am

    - Michael had vitiligo. There are many pictures that prove it.
    - He didn’t remove himself from the black community. He was friends with James Brown, Eddie Murphy, Whoopy Goldberg, etc. And I don’t know about Al Sharpton, but Jesse Jackson supported him during the 2005 trial.
    - No, vitiligo obviously had nothing to do with his nose. He had plastic surgeries on his nose ’cause he didn’t like it. He was mocked for his “big” nose by his father and brothers since he was little…
    - He was not a pedophile. In case someone doesn’t remember, he was declared not gulty on all charges. Now, if you wanna argue that the jury made a mistake, then present a good argument.

  16. 16 Jackie Aug 13th, 2009 at 3:53 am

@Cristina. They don’t care about the facts that you tell them, the arguments, the logic, they are just little men and women with keyboard hunched somewhere trying to take down a great man like MJ with pettiness and sly innuendos. They are not worth your time or mine, still…

And look at these idiots go…it’s obvious that Sharpton wasn’t trying to distance himself from Michael, what he was showing to others was that Michael had become so engrained in culture that a white guy quoted him to a black guy (Sharpton himself) on being self critical, and that’s in complete accordance to his eulogy. There’s no mockery here, and that’s why the bozos who edited this clip cut it when the laughs began and didn’t let it play on a few seconds more, to take it completely out of context and skew it…how sad they are…how sad…

Self critical? You morons are asking what that is? I am sure it isn’t in your dictionary.

  17. 17 Simon Scowl Aug 13th, 2009 at 4:40 am

    Well said.

  18. 18 Tracy Sep 28th, 2009 at 3:15 am

Al Sharpton and Michael Jackson were friends since they were teenagers.

  19. 19 Beige Sep 28th, 2009 at 1:08 pm

    Well, that explains EVERYTHING.
