When family-friendly station TLC debuted Jon & Kate Plus 8 in 2007, I doubt they had any idea it would turn into the tabloid tornado it has this summer. So good on them for having the foresight to include a “morals clause” that they can now use to oust Jon Gosselin for chasing extensive co-ed tail.
For his part, Jon is (ahem) adjusting himself to life without Kate. The news today is that he’s set his sights on a new reality show, The Divorced Dads Club:
We’re told Jon is in talks with a major production company — Endemol — to appear in a show called “Divorced Dad’s Club.” We’re told the show chronicles the lives of famous divorced fathers. We’re told producers talked to Jon, but he’s concerned about his TLC contract.
But Jon may still have a shot at the new show, because we’re told TLC is not happy with his conduct lately on “Jon & Kate Plus 8.” We’re told they fired off a letter to him, claiming he was in violation of the morals clause of his contract, partly because he’s been seen going in and out of bars and drinking.
Betcha there won’t be a morality clause for this program. Especially if it co-stars Michael Lohan.

What? A Hollywood studio actually enforcing a morals clause?

well, hey… the guy looks like he’s pretty much jacking it right outside the house…ick. Not sure how that falls into the “morals clause” since they all seem to be a club of self strokers over there, but hey.
And, Dave, I agree – Hollywood enforcing morals? Anyone have a bomb shelter that’s open for rent?

Why was this included? Sordid and tabloid-worthy, yes, but nothing particularly hypocritical. Normally I love your exposure of people’s double-talk, but running fluff like this hurts credibility.
But when he is doing that instead of spending time with his children, then he should be taken out back and beaten. Good drinks and sex are good, but what about the kids? I repeat, it is sad when Kate is looking like the responsible adult in this relationship.
Neil — I offer you the following primer of the Gosselins’ time on Deceiver. Their hypocrisy has been well-established; finding out they agreed to a “morals clause” is just further proof that these people now have no business on a family-friendly television show. Kate included.

I’ve totally seen “woman parts” on some of the medical shows that TLC broadcasts. As someone who pretends to be a concerned mother half the time on the internet, mostly in WoW, I am outraged at TLC’s own hypocritical behavior.

He’s a legit celebrity now on the front of more magazines than stars with talents other than reproduction, yet he’s “stuck in the minors” women-wise.

If you want to compare the two – we see Kate with her kids a majority of the time now when the photos are captured of her. Jon, we see him with chicks, smokes and Ed Hardy clothing. Right now, Kate is winning the battle and according to the polls, the viewers are changing sides.
What a depressing thought: Jon’s singular achievement in life is distracting people from Kate “Vagina Dentata” Gosselin’s ratchet-jawed bitchiness. Woo. Hoo…?
