Nancy Pelosi Not As Fond of Disruptors As She Used to Be

After Nancy Pelosi’s brilliant “You guys are un-American for disagreeing with me” editorial last month in USA Today, everyone reminded her that she used to take a much different line on dissent:

“I say to the president: Mr. President, if you think that our troops in Iraq are there to fight for democracy, do not destroy it at home by cutting off our freedom of speech.”

“There’s nothing more articulate, more eloquent to a member of Congress than the voice of his or her own constituents.”

“I understand your anger.”

“I’m a fan of disruptors, people who make change.”

But that was a long time ago! Almost four years now. These days, things are totally different:

“The, I think we all have to take responsibility for our actions and our words. Uh, the, uh, we are a free country, and this balance between freedom and, uh, uh, safety is one that we have to carefully, uh, balance. Um. I have concerns about some of the language that is, is being used, because I saw… [ATTN ACADEMY VOTERS] …I saw this myself, um, in the late ’70s in San Francisco, this kind of, of, of, of rhetoric. Was, was very frightening, and it gave, it created a climate in which we… violence took place. And uh, uh… So I, I wish that we would all, again, uh, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made so that understanding that, that, uh, some of the people, the ears that are, it is falling on are not…”

Right! Well, I think we all get the point. It’s good to see that the plastic surgeons have left her with at least partial function in her tear ducts.

It’s true, we’ve heard a lot of ugly rhetoric over the last few months. Dissenters have been called “brownshirts,” “terrorists,” “racists,” “teabaggers,” and worse. And it’s led to violence. A guy in St. Louis got beat up, and another guy in California had a finger bitten off. The only problem for ol’ Nancy is that this ugly, shameful language and behavior has come from the people who agree with her.

There was a big rally in Washington last Saturday. The low estimate is 60,000, and based on the pictures, it was probably more than that. Yet we haven’t heard about so much as a stubbed toe because of it.

Once again, the question must be asked: What in the world is Nancy Pelosi talking about?

In other pseudopolitical news: A pillar of the community with friends in high places has his place of business vandalized by an impish street artist, and an immensely wealthy and powerful woman widens her carbon footprint frivolously. Truly, it’s never been more important than it is right now to speak truth to power.

When I read an article about this speach I almost fell off my chair. I guess when she had her face tightened the surgeon took some gray matter away and that is why she doesn’t remember that it is her party causing most of the problems people are dealing with now.

Told you. By the end of the day, Michael Moore would be replaced by a member of Obamanation. Between Michelle and Nancy, you can have your pick

Massachusetts votes to allow senatorial appointment immediately, reversing the bill Kennedy sponsored to prevent Romney from doing the same.

Where to start? Just so much going on in this post.
Michelle Obama, she who created a program that dumped poor patients on community hospitals, is trotted out by her husband to tell us all about how wonderful Obama’s health care plan will be for us. Spewing crap and carbon she is.

WIll someone please explain to me how people like the above get elected? Most of her constituents can not be like her, so what is it about her that appeals to them. I really don’t understand and am truly asking for an honest explanation.

  6. 6 Scott F. Sep 18th, 2009 at 7:27 pm

Ln – I was born in Oakland, right across the bay from San Fran, and I can assure you that many of her constituents actually ARE exactly like her, if not worse. For the most part San Fransisco really is as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Besides Joe Montana, decent rice, and Dirty Harry, nothing of any value to humanity has ever crawled out of that cesspool. I’ve been saying since the 90’s that we should hold a ‘Free Phish Concert’ just outside the city limits and demolish the place while everyone’s gone.

The Obamas are always causing huge shutdowns and traffic jams for crap like this. They caused huge traffic issues so they could go to a parent-teacher conference at their daughters’ private school a few months ago. It would have been better environmentally and easier for the little people if they had just had the teachers brought to the white house.

Michelle Obama is clearly not a real gardener. Anyone else see the quick blurb of her trying to dig when ground was broken for the vaunted White House garden? No? That’s because the cameras quickly cut off her when they realized she doesn’t know how to use a shovel. Dumping poor people on underfunded hospitals, now THAT she’s an expert with plenty of experience.

This site used to be interesting, but now it seems it’s all about bashing liberals. No even hand here anymore.

    too bad.

Liberals are in power, and they’re making a lot of news lately. Why should they be off-limits?

If you’ve got a tip, please feel free to send it to tips@deceiver.com.

What a tewl. She seems so *upset* during that second video. Her expression almost changed and everything. Also, violence in the 70’s in San Francisco? Is she possibly referring to Harvey Milk? The same Harvey Milk that was murdered BY A FELLOW DEMOCRAT? Good grief. 2010 can’t come soon enough. It’s going to be absolute carnage.

  11. 11 Catharine Sep 19th, 2009 at 12:10 am

YALL AR SO RACIST, U JUST THINK CAUSE MICHELLE OBAMA IS BLACK SHES NOT WORTH ALL THOS CARS AND STUFF

Heh-heh, sorry I couldn’t resist. I knew there was something missing from this post- an accusation of racism from an ignorant person! Now we just need someone to say we don’t like Pelosi cause we’re all secretly sexist. . . .

  12. 12 Catharine Sep 19th, 2009 at 12:14 am

Oh great! Just what we need, another I-am-woman-hear-me-roar feminist using tears to get her way!

  13. 13 Julie Sep 19th, 2009 at 12:21 am

I think everyone’s “racist” buttons have been broken. But yeah, this thread seemed somewhat empty without that. :)

OMG HOW DARE YOU ALL HATE GYNOAMERICANS.

  15. 15 jenn Sep 19th, 2009 at 7:38 am

OMG Pearce – that’s funny. MgPM – looking for a some conservative hypocrisy are we? In light of what is going on at ACORN, one of the most vocal opponents of the group is Senator Vittor who was caught up in the ‘DC Madam’ scandal a few years back. He also missed the vote that cut off the groups funding.

  16. 16 jimmy Sep 19th, 2009 at 10:19 am

She must be referring to the White Night riots. No that can’t be it, those rioters were mainly liberal gays. Maybe she is thinking of anti-war protestors, except that occurred in the ’60s by mainly liberal college students.

  17. 17 angry army wife Sep 19th, 2009 at 11:21 am

When a conservative does something wrong, Deciever is the first to post it. Do your homework before spewing crap. Luckily, most of the democrats in power are outranking the nastiness of the right about 5-1. Deceiver is an EEO basher.

  18. 18 angry army wife Sep 19th, 2009 at 11:26 am

Kent State is a huge riot here in the State of Ohio. Mainly democrats. It was a horrible day. Most riots are caused by liberals, not republicans. My friends went to DC last weekend and they said that they did not see any Nazi posters or hear any cuss words. Compare that to some of the anti-war speeches we hear and the picketing of Soldiers funerals.

Yes and yes. It’s disgusting of her to try to use someone’s murder to make up for the fact that she can’t defend Obamacare’s problems in a way that satisfies its opponents. And anybody who actually looks into the Moscone-Milk assassinations knows that they were more the result of Dan White’s depression and rage than anything related to the political climate.

I’m confused… paraphrased: “I saw violence in my town so ram health scare reform though”… is that pretty much it?

At least she’ll be safe in her mansion after running through her vineyard when the pitchforks come around.

New York Times confirms Enquirer story that Edwards is set to announce paternity.

The only detail the Enquirer missed?

Edwards promised Rielle “that after his wife died, he would marry her in a rooftop ceremony in New York with an appearance by the Dave Matthews Band.”

Good stuff. So beautiful Rielle, do you realize by now that you and Frances are on your own? Or will you still marry Johnnie boy in forty years after Elizabeth dies?

From this story floated in the times, and I’d be willing to guess that no less a culprit than John Edwards himself was the leak on this particular NYT story.

Remember when John Edwards was the #1 search result on the New York Times and they still refused to mention his lovechild?

{A}nd this balance between freedom and, uh, uh, safety is one that we have to carefully, uh, balance.

Interesting that no concern for “uh, uh, safety” cropped up when the Patriot Act was going to KILL US ALL EVERY ONE OH MY GOD RUN FOR THE HILLS WE’RE IN A POLICE STATE. Now, suddenly, when it’s conservative Americans speaking up, we’ve got to take a step back and balance safety with freedom. Because it was housewives from Ohio who flew planes into our buildings, y’see. Enraged soccer moms. Damn them all.

  23. 23 Ln Sep 20th, 2009 at 8:47 am

As an enraged soccer mom myself I know how dangerous we can be. I have given weeks of groundings to my sons. Be warned, Nancy….we are coming after you. You will be grounded from all media contact for no less than 2 weeks.

hey Ln, can you also take away her botox privledges? Pretty please?

  25. 25 Beige Sep 20th, 2009 at 11:03 am

Crap. Comment #22 was me. Alzheimer’s will probably make for a seamless transition, here.

  26. 26 jenn Sep 20th, 2009 at 11:56 am

just occurred to me – those were no tears – it was a botox leak. Call a hazmat crew.

“hey Ln, can you also take away her botox privledges? Pretty please?”

I don’t know if that’s such a good idea. De-bone a chicken and see how well it holds up in a wind storm. Same scenario, except that the wind affecting her is blowing out of her mouth. It’s gonna look like someone is trying to inflate a windsock with a jet engine. Not for the squeamish.

    Lookie what I found!

I expect you all to get A’s on this. 10 minutes, no looking on someone else’s paper, pencil down when you’re done.

  29. 29 Minnow Sep 21st, 2009 at 1:40 pm

    Interesting quiz, Shell.

Although to be fair (and when it comes to Michael Moore, I really hate to be), question #7 about no black people in northern Michigan really isn’t Mike’s fault. It’s really, really, really rural up there. And I don’t mean rural as in farmland, I mean rural as in it’s just you and two bear at the family reunion.

Until I moved south to mid-state at age 12, I thought black people lived only inside my TV.

I was just reading some news about protesters in Pittsburgh at the G20. Pelosi and the media have their panties in a twist over tea parties but I have yet to hear or see comment on the violent protests in Pittsburgh – could it be because these are lefties causing the problem?
