Kevin Spacey Is Not About to Put Up with Your Aggression, You [Expletives Deleted]

KevinSpaceyWe all know Kevin Spacey as Keyser Soze in The Usual Suspects (whoops, spoiler), the poor jerk who got shot in the head at the end of American Beauty (sorry, spoiler again), and Lex Luthor in Kevin Spacey’s Hairpiece Takes a Vacation. But now he’s taking on a new role: Arrogance McMegadouche in Don’t You Know Who I Am?

According to Radar Online:

“Mr. Spacey, you got me fired from my job!” In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, waiter Peter Turner said that’s what happened when he told Kevin Spacey he wasn’t allowed to smoke in a restaurant.

“You’re an aggressive prick,” Turner said the Oscar winning actor Kevin Spacey told him after he asked him to stop smoking three times in the high-end restaurant Clarke Cooke House in Newport, Rhode Island in late June. When Spacey’s dinner companions lit up their cigarettes Turner was instructed by his boss to tell the group to stop smoking, since it was a violation of state law… He said he made a joke to the smokers, saying: “You’re not allowed to smoke in here unless you’re on fire,” but the actor’s anger exploded. “I need you to get the f*** away from my table,” Spacey snarled to the waiter.

Turner was fired a few days later. Doesn’t he know that laws are only for people he hasn’t seen in the movies?

Looks like you can reach @KevinSpacey on Twitter. Why not drop him a line and ask why he got a working man fired for trying to follow the law? As he puts it in his Twitter bio, he’s a “former shoe salesman now making a go at film and theater.” So he knows what it’s like, just trying to make ends meet. How would he have felt if some rich, overprivileged creep had hassled him on the job and gotten him fired? He might think the guy was a little too aggressive, huh?

Remember, Kevin: It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice. Also, you stink.

Update: Ed Driscoll has another example of Spacey’s phony “I’m just a workin’ guy made good” crap.

I am sure Kevin has kept his down home working man appeal while having $1k lunches and having people serve him on movie sets and in clubs. Yeahhhh right.

What kind of rude person lights up a smoke in a place that is obviously non-smoking? How tacky and rude.

  3. 3 Hurricane Nov 2nd, 2009 at 6:58 pm

My gay friends tell me there is a lot of pent up anger in the closet. Kevin, boobsie, just come on out. You’ll feel better about yourself and maybe, just maybe, you won’t be as much of a prick.

    Or maybe more of one.

The fact that the waiter gets sacked says there could be more behind this. (He did his job.)
Thanks Deceiver, I used to like him.

    Spacey is a skeezeball extraordinaire

  7. 7 Fortunate_Son Nov 2nd, 2009 at 9:48 pm

Hurricane, is Kevin Spacey in the closet?

I thought he was openly gay. I may be wrong.

  8. 8 Pearce Nov 2nd, 2009 at 9:52 pm

I was just standin’ here…Kevin Spacey locked himself in the closet….

  9. 9 Pastafarian Nov 2nd, 2009 at 9:55 pm

    Quick someone get John Travolta!

    Ohmahgahhhwd!

  11. 11 Nimrod Nov 3rd, 2009 at 3:04 am

    And Tom Cruise!

Seriously, is there ANYONE in Hollywood that ISN’T a skeezeball extraordinaire? I know there are a few, but you never hear about them. I suppose that is a good thing.

Ya know, I really can’t understand where all this self-importance comes from. It seems the more “important” people think they are, the more subhuman they act.

What’s more important than being good to your planet-mates? Not only did the guy treat the waiter inappropriately for doing the right and legal thing, but Spacey was also VICTIMIZING others who have a right to breathe clean air.

Hopefully he’ll enjoy all his “importance” along with his oxygen tank, emphysema, and lung cancer in his golden years.

I am sick and tired of this holier than thou attitude that many people in Hollywood has. Who made them money and a star? Do they really think that they are all that important?
I bet the guy was fired because Spacey complianed to management. Instead of standing behind their employee, they let him go cause it was Kevin Spacey.

Yeah, I have it on good authority–from guys Spacey’s hit on–that he is, indeed driving stick. I don’t care whether he comes out of the closet or not; he’s an arse on toast as far as I’m concerned.

As for arses/non-arses in H’wood, how often do you hear of Adam Baldwin acting up? (I mean, he may, but I haven’t heard about it.) Or Andy Garcia? Or Robert Davi?

  15. 15 Hurricane Nov 3rd, 2009 at 11:44 am

He never officially joined the Travolta/Cruise fan club, at least not publically, though I hear his fridge remains stocked with wine spritzers and bon-bons.

  16. 16 Pearce Nov 3rd, 2009 at 1:49 pm

I think that’s what my boyfriend refers to as being “locked in a glass closet.”

  17. 17 Victoria Nov 3rd, 2009 at 3:12 pm

OK Ive heard this about Keving Spacey (Love this actor by the way) you do NOT cross this man! But getting the dude fired? Surely not.

  18. 18 Victoria Nov 3rd, 2009 at 3:13 pm

Im pretty sure he’s gay but as Im sure he would tell me “That’s none of your GD business!”

  19. 19 StrawberryGirl Nov 3rd, 2009 at 8:45 pm

He buddies around Hugo Chavez but has no love for the actual protelariat. America-hatin’ jerk.

Interesting tidbit – today for the radio stations question of the day, they asked “Who was kicked out of military school for throwing a tire at another student?” Guess who? Yep. I guess his parents sent him there to learn discipline and he got kicked out.

The restaurant manager is a major a-hole as well! He should have done his job and tell Kevin “I am above the law” Spacey to not smoke in a non-smoking state, instead he threw his employee under a bus to do his dirty work.

I can empathize. My boss has me do his dirty work, telling customers “no”, so I get dinged for customer service.

  22. 22 Beige Nov 5th, 2009 at 4:33 pm

@AAW: I always figured he got kicked out b/c he constantly bitched about having to be the General’s hood ornament.

‘Cause he’s short, y’see. You can get life-sized Kevin Spacey charm bracelets.

Chill out people . . .find out the full story . . . Kevin asked if he could smoke on the balcony area of the restaurant and was told he could. THe waiter came out, not knowing he had permission to do so, and told them to stop. Kevin told the waiter to check with the person who gave them permission to smoke and then the waiter was the one who said something rude to Kevin and his guests.
