Twilight Star Christian Serratos Misguidedly Poses for PETA

How awesome must it be to be Christian Serratos right now?

She has a starring role in the über-hot Twilight franchise, meaning she gets to be on set with dreamy Robert Pattinson all the time.

She’s totally going through the enviable, glitzy rite of passage that sudden fame brings. There are all these premieres to attend and awards to receive and paparazzi to pose for. So to look the part of Budding Starlet, she gets to play serious dress-up, like in these photos over the past year:

christian-serratos

We’re talking Valentino patent leather handbags, Yves Saint Laurent patent leather pumps, and Christian Louboutin leather-soled peep-toes here, left to right. A bit out of the range of the average teenager’s allowance.

So you have to wonder why she would ruin her own fun by joining up with the likes of PETA’s I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaign. Because how will she ever go back to the red carpet now that she’s just claimed the moral upper hand against wearing the very animal products she blew her first paycheck on?

Note to Christian: Just because they’re patent or covered in sequins doesn’t mean your accessories are any less cow.

I’m trying to be angry about this but goddamn she’s hot.

  2. 2 California Dave Nov 10th, 2009 at 4:49 pm

If she gets rid of all of them and walks the PeTA walk from here on in, okay. Otherwise, yeah – hypocrite.

I wonder how much PeTA pays these people for posing naked.

In her defense that ad is so photoshopped it might as well be a cartoon

  4. 4 Rachel Nov 10th, 2009 at 5:29 pm

Does anyone else find it ironic that in the movie Twilight (which the ad is definately modeled after) the vampires survive by hunting down and sucking the blood out of wild animals? Isn’t that the opposite of PETA?

    Rachel – Nice catch!

And yet they went after The Dark Knight because Batman fought off a pack of attack dogs.

(This is really off-topic and not necessarily Deceiver worthy but it’s awesome closure about the whole Self photoshopping Kelly Clarkson to show her “true self” http://jezebel.com/5401447/readers-not-that-into-selfs-pseudo+kelly-clarkson )

  8. 8 Rachel Nov 10th, 2009 at 5:48 pm

Well The Dark Knight didn’t have Christian Serrtos posing naked in the woods.

    *Serratos

    PETA is the new ACORN.

    Those outfits need more cowbell.

But it’s not ‘all played out’ FOR ME, all right?

Once, just ONCE, I’d like to see PeTA take on the Chinese government who, oh I don’t know, actually PRODUCE said furs. You know, blame the actual torturers too. The factories do some effed-up stuff to their animals, it’s true. But why only blame consumers? Why not the ones who do the skinning, electrocuting, etc.?

(Disclaimer: I know why. PeTA is too scared to take on someone who doesn’t give a sh*t about their rights and would throw them in prison or worse in a heartbeat. Still annoying though).

Let’s give the PETA people some one way tickets to “protest” in China. Make the Commies do something good for us!

It’s a bit like being a vegetarian, except during dinner time!
A dead animal is a dead animal.

As someone who once saw PSB officers beat the living hell out of utility workers staging a peaceful protest, I vehemently second the suggestion to sic PETA and the PRC on one another. May the best heavily-armed, dogmatically-nationalist power win.

  17. 17 Kristine Nov 11th, 2009 at 6:52 pm

Again this begs the question: why do these people sign up with PeTA?! It doesn’t help their careers. I’m sure the pay can’t be that great. All it does is open them up to this.

  18. 18 Pearce Nov 12th, 2009 at 12:48 pm

But Kristine, if they pose for PETA, they can have nude photos all over the place, and no one can fault them for it because it’s “for a good cause.”

Just another way to sell sex by TOTALLY NOT SELLING SEX OMG THINK OF THE SEALS.

I want to start a line of lingerie made solely from the skins of seals. Just so I can get some people picketing in front of my house while I sit in my living room with popcorn and watch.

  19. 19 XStyleBeauties Fashion Models Nov 12th, 2009 at 6:29 pm

The most beautiful PETA girl for now :)

  20. 20 California Dave Nov 13th, 2009 at 5:39 am

Pearce – why not make lingerie out of Christmas seals? They’d be painful to remove, but there’s gotta be a market for it somewhere.

  21. 21 Beige Nov 13th, 2009 at 11:08 am

PETA’s lone contribution to society is providing a conscience-salving outlet for whores of both genders who want to feel noble. Whilst flashing their goods.

Yes, we know you’re not paid to think, Captain Obvious.
